How about you show both sides of the story mate ....go and follow the kids around when they are stealing shit and pulling knives on people , picking on the elderly and belting other kids up for no reason or maybe approach the cops to do a day in their shoes to see what these kids are up to on a daily ? sadly you are just like the mercury only showing one side .

    C'mon Greeley.
You clearly didn't see what happened just prior to that girl getting arrested all you witnessed was the girl being arrested. It doesn't matter what she was being arrested for, all we know for sure is an adult with a camera looking for youtube views decided it was a good idea to escalate the situation by running around with a camera saying "Im filming it and going to put it on youtube tonight Brah", "shame-shame-shame", you could have handled this so much better" further escalating the situation, you're intelligent enough to realise that kids like this in situations like this thrive on that sort of attention from someone they look up to and you doing what you did could have potentially taken that situation to a far greater level than what it was.
Unfortunately these kids have created the reputation they have through past behaviours and have to work harder now to break the stigma attached to them whether that is fair or not. You then pretend to interview them and start putting words like "prejudice" in their heads which for them just condones their behaviour. You know full well they are going to think its cool being on your youtube channel and they will thrive on that attention. You not only failed to help educate them on how their past behaviours and reputation played a part in this situation and how to help turn their lives sround into something positive you actually helped them justify their behaviour.
Every member of society must abide by the law whether we agree with it or not or face the consequences. We don't get to resist arrest, put our hands on Police because they're arresting our friend, start assaulting a member of the public( who was actually trying to help the girl being arrested), damage police vehicles etc etc.
Im normally a big supporter of everything you're trying to achieve but this video screams the exploitation of those kids just to get some you tube views.

Yeah idk. It goes both ways, the way I’ve seen the “lads” treat the general public is pretty gross. It was only last week when I witnessed 2 “lads” harass a well known “little person” of ethnic background in Claremont village. I stood up for the bloke but it’s becoming far too common. I use to run a muck in Glenorchy with a rough crew but we always respected our elders and the general public. That’s just not a thing these days.

I appreciate so much u r trying to do something. Most people just throw negativity at what they don't understand or what doesn't understand them, but that just perpetuates division. Its unbelievably sad that there was a man just down the road the assaulted a woman to the point of blood down her face yet they dont protect or apprehend that man, instead they traumatised a group youth who they felt more intimated by! Also, I have sympathy for the coppers. It would be an unimaginably hard job that would involve it’s own trauma. I was quite taken by how young some of those coppers were.

Its like an abuse of the new laws they pushed thru during covid 4 stop n search n the cops couldve served me with a summons.. or turned up on monday morning after school drop so my 10yo didnt see her Mama getting put in handcuffs n a paddywagon.. its creating a culture of us vs the police in our kids so early on... I had been bought home by coppers maybe 13 or 14 times just for skating after dark by the time I was 16... its absolutely fucked

My mate said it was his house and it's just there! They grabbed him and shoved him in the car for lying and said we will find out now! "tell me the truth, where do you live!?" My mate gave the address, they typed it inn before driving two houses down and parking again. lol
They still said stuff to my mate before letting him out and driving off. But by this time we are all already standing there abusing the police as they drove off, because it was only two houses down they went HAHAHA. Pointless!!!!!!

They’re being institutionalised far too early!! They need intervention before being treated as if there bad people. Not hard to understand but a lot of people have a hard time looking at the bigger picture these days it’s a fact that the most simply minded people of all time ever exists right now today & I don’t lie it’s a fact.. I came here to make a similar comment about the lack of help for young people in Tasmania, if the system was better then maybe we wouldn't be seeing a divide between the 15 - 25 age group and the Justice system. I haven't seen the Department of Justice bat an eyelid at the sudden homeless increase in the last few years, or the housing commish areas, in one of Greelz other videos one of the boys mentions when they do burnouts in Clarendon Vale the cops just sit and watch, which I'm sure the tax payers are really happy to know! If anything their main concern is making sure they don't disturb the wealthy, which if you have read anything on particular historical moments that are incredibly similar, so many to name so little text... you will know that it doesn't end well, but it also happened so we can learn from our mistakes? I say that with a question mark because, are we really learning from our mistakes? it doesn't seem like we are. I see plenty of people complaining and whinging about what Greelz is doing which is fair because any Tassie knows going to town is just the place to hang out for people who do shiz all, all day. Centrelink provides, so they don't have to do anything anyone tells them, except when Centrelink tell them to go out and look for a job, then they mostly lie and come up with all kinds of stuff, if they spent half their time coming up with all the stuff they come up with they would already be successful business owners! its just not channeled in the right way.
Society in Tasmania is as backwards as a David Lynch film and Tasmanians will steal the pieces they want from other cultures but not any of the things that actually matter! like a decent education system for example, but having a Halloween is important..... how? and why we can't come up with our own thing? you all realize the country we stole Halloween off has a epidemic of obese people right? the reason that's mostly causing the....look never mind...
Its a huge amount of stimulation for kids around this age to go into town, its probably the equivalent of a dopamine hit for an adult taking some kind of drug if I'm being honest. If there's a target on the kids back, the Justice system is just holding a knife to their throats and asking if they can breathe yet, which in turn will just make them hate the cops even more, want to lash out and also isn't fair because its actually not their fault. A lot of people don't know/care about the parents and what situation they are in, I don't see anyone putting their hand up to give these kids the tools they need to not only survive but thrive if the parents are incapable! Also just a side note about Child Protection, I knew people who were doing drugs on the lounge room table with their young children around and their friends that lived in the same street would notify them if they saw the Child Protection car coming up the road, Just to put things into perspective.

They seemed like fine kids. No abuse, no smart comments.
    They complied with everything.
I understand police want to make the streets safe, but this hurts my heart..
    They were leaving......
Also good on you Greelz for 'hey bro we treat women with respect'
And 'chill' even though you know this kid is reacting...
    *failure to comply*
    Oh my gosh.
    Massive ups Greelz.
He didn't look too happy to see you filming which says all that needs to be said really.
This from authorities doesn't help one bit.

Thats exactly right too. If you have a shit home life, why would you be at home.
Where would you go if your friends had abusive parents too.
      Sad but true.

So watching the end of this video , I used to live in battery point on a route the "red bus" drove and we got shit from the council leaving our bins out the morning after. They wanna keep Hobart city and its areas clean for tourism ... sucks they will just kick the local kids of tassie out of their own city for tourism.

Bit odd for Greely to do this and then just light up the situation more, far out by him saying the sufff he said just made the situation worse, such a shame and embarrassing thing to do.

Shit has changed since we grew up greeley.....how are ya mate long time no see, when we grew up we had mentors, youth co-ordinators, counciling peoppe to talk to, we had a place to hang out play basketball use computers have a free feed and get help....is there any youth centres around now these days? Man i still hang with my youth councillor weve been friends for so long, coming from the gutter to were i am myself today, we need people walking the streets and talking to them like a youth cop person whos on both sides who can work and make a difference, our generation had it bad, now in my late 30s kids just wanna hang around there is nothing for them to do i wish i could take them on a hike etc and show them this beautiful place we call home (tassie) itself and plant a seed in there head and get away from all this drama and conflict and trauma they expose on themselves....the kids parents are the ones to blame not anyone else....they should be supporting them doing stuff together not sitting at home doing drugs and going through family abuse etc or whatever the situation is...i see both sides these days esp running a garden business i could show them how to enjoy life and work for money then go travelling there is so much they can do but they have no options they feel more stuck than what we where growing up as kids in the 2000s....shit has changed so much, you need to take this to council and make shit happen greeley, its the only way or some dog in parliment its the only way to make it happen, i wish the best for everyone since covid we all just wanna eat each others throats out it's disgusting people are on defensive mode 24/7.....prison showed us both how to grow up i suppose mate and we changed for the better but i wish nobody goes there it's a horrible place, even though its not about what you know its who you know, i just hope that these kids can get help like we did back in the day its sad,
All the best mate great video.....from bloodnut 😉🍻💪😎

yeah its the wrong approach and only makes the youth wanna play up more and get more rambuncious and rowdy. these cops gotta approach the situations differently and better for sure

  • @ryanjasper

I wonder how that situation could have escalated further if Greeley wasn't there helping to keep it calm and keep everybody accountable... Shame on our system of society that creates and perpetuates this unnecessary tribalism and ongoing trauma.
Through this awareness I hope we can gradually begin to rise above it as a collective and learn to understand more deeply the ramifications of our actions in all instances on others ❤❤❤
