    We’re getting ready to set up our 12 x 24 Intex pool. How far out from the pool do the legs go. If we have a site that is 14 x 26 will that be enough room for the legs? I can’t find this information anywhere. THANKS

    • @Amundred
      @Amundred  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, that should be enough room - I think I mention the measurement for the legs somewhere in a video - but I feel like it was 2' or maybe a bit less from the size of the pool to the actual space needed

    • @Amundred

      That will be more than enough room! The frame poles are about 14' at the widest 👍

    How far out do the legs stick out from the pool on all sides?

    • @Amundred

      Not very far - I can measure it in a bit and let you know 👍

    • @Amundred
      @Amundred  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ok - so a little hard to explain, but from the widest part of the pool (where the sides bulge in the middle) to the furthest point on the legs is around 8"

    To add to the measurement question.
    So about an extra foot of measurement for the box.
    You said 8" is the extra is that both sides or 4" preside.
    Thank you in advance

    • @Amundred
      @Amundred  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is between 6" and 8" per side 👍

    • @Amundred
      @Amundred  ปีที่แล้ว

      If I recall, the measurement from base to base is approximately 1' further out than the top bar....so instead of 12' wide you need about 14' and then same with the length so about 26' of total length is needed 👍

      @@AmundredThis is very unfortunate for me, the widest part of my yard where this pool would fit is only 13'8". This means I'll have to go with the smaller 18x9x52 Intex pool instead, disappointing.

  • @Superman-xr1oh
    @Superman-xr1oh 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Interesting, I've heard that you should never build up the ground for a pool, but dig it up instead. Also, I read that you shouldn't use sand because it doesn't compact, all that pressure from the pool will cause it to sink and spread the sand out. How did you avoid these issues?

    • @Amundred
      @Amundred  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We used a Compactor to work the sand so that it was like a hard slab. Has worked great so far - you can rent the gas powered compactors from local rental places that rent out machinery. We also put up a frame to keep the sand from washing away 👍

    • @Amundred
      @Amundred  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      At least 14' - if possible, I would leave a little extra room so that it is easier to access everything. 👍

    are you going to disassemble the pool for winter or leave it up all year long?

    • @Amundred
      @Amundred  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Our plan is going to be to leave it up year round and winterize it for the winter months - we may need to build a fence or deck before then as a wind guard though as it gets very windy here in the winter months.

      @weedlebunz ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Amundred make sure to keep it covered real well all winter. We forgot to take down our summer waves 14ft pool and forgot to put cover on and now it’s a nasty algae mess! It’s way harder cleaning it than putting it up and filling it! Been working at it for about over a month now!

    I set this same pool up for a guy. Good pool, dumb owner. Didn't want to pay for water delivery so he used his garden hose to fill it. Not only was the pool orange all summer he had the nerve to bitch about not having any water pressure for days.

    • @Amundred
      @Amundred  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is why I use the larger filter/pump and salt water now! It actually keeps the pool looking so crystal clear all year! Especially if you struggle with water clarity in any way at all!

    You're not worried about corrosion with the salt water? We tried a salt water pool before and everything rusted

    • @Amundred
      @Amundred  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We have had salt water and non salt water above ground pools and I would be hard pressed to say that the salt water system was more of an issue for corrosion than our "regular" system was.
      Maybe we lost a year of use out of the salt water pool in comparison...but the savings on chemicals and supplies was far beyond the cost of replacing the pool a year (or even two years) earlier than had we not used salt. 🤷
