Fun fact: ethanol for human consumption will be slightly radioactive, from the atmospheric carbon-14 that corn likes. Alcohol that is not radioactive is derived from fossil fuels: because they've been inert for millions of years, all the carbon-14 has decayed.
I heard of you because of the chemdelic collab, and as a 'chemist', I've ALWAYS wondered what compounds were present in such a wide variety of liquors that makes them different. So, needless to say, I'm hooked. This is great content, and I love your style
The main feeling I took away from this video was the surprise of seeing some scenes from the French movie "Le père-noël est une ordure" ! Good choice :D Joke aside, thank's for the analysis and happy new year ;)
recently, i was trying to remember, who was that guy building his own particle accelerator...but came up blank. then this pops up in my feed, and i think "huh, he looks familiar, is that -- it is!" i absolutely love your stuff. you're brilliant and hilarious. i won't forget this time heh, gonna go catch up on what i've missed. cheers!
no surprise in finding furfural and aldehydes in the malted whiskeys. Not sure what is the temperature when malting, but these are products of the xylose and xylooligosaccharide thermal decomposition reactions. Cool video! Appreciate the safety concerns when being arround alcohols :D
Really good video. When you feed Benzaldehyde to Yeast instead of Sugar you get L-1-Phenyl propanol 1-one-2. So I'm not surprised with the results. Lucky everything over 20% Vol is coffin polish for me😅 Thanks for sharing and cheers folks ✌️
I looked at tobacco here: th-cam.com/video/2F4z26C9mkI/w-d-xo.html I can't imagine pipe tobacco being much different.. thanks for watching and happy new year!
It's there to add a nice sweet aroma along with enhancing the burn. It also literally dissolves away fat! Side effects may include delayed carbon monoxide poisoning and some increase in cancer risk. ;)
What? Where ? The software was free, if you are talking about the column it's the new price directly from the manufacturer. eBay is where I get my equipment from and I believe I paid less than $70 for that same new column, thanks for watching and happy new year!
"With the exception of Rum and Bacardi" I think you're beginning to understand just how meaningful that distinction truly is 🤣
But the "rum" in the example was Captain Morgan, so we still have a long way to go
yeah bacardi is not bad at all as rums go lol… way better than captain morgan at least
@@josephlucatorto4772 nah, anything below Plantation 3yr is basically flavored vodka

I am glad you enjoyed it ! Thank you for the compliment and thank you for watching! Happy new year!
I'd love to see a follow-up where you test all the most hangover-inducing liquors and compare.
Yes ! That would be interesting indeed ! 😀 I'll probably wait for someone else to do THAT video! Lol! Thanks for watching and happy new year!!
Don't delude yourself! It's nothing but the ethanol that induces the hangover.
If I remember correctly, the acetaldehyde is the problem when the body deals with ethanol, you're right
The fact that you are aware of your safety enough to be wearing your safety glasses got my sub.
Thank you so much! 😆.. glad you enjoyed the video and some humor enough to sub ! Appreciate it!
👍👍
Thanks again for your continued support !!! Very appreciated!!! 😊
