I used to enjoy this game when I was younger but could never get very far.
Now I know why.
The difficulty of the fight with Judge Doom is just way too hard due to the length of it.
You also only have a very small window to destroy him at the end before he one-shots you. -

Yep... I could never beat the last guy as a kid. Seeing it now with a 10-15 minute battle for a screen that basically says 'the end' pisses me off all these years later lol

They really should make a Roger Rabbit DLC for LA Noire now.
With all the hours I spent playing this game as a kid, came within one punch of (almost) killing Judge Doom, I think I would have seriously thrown my TV out the window after getting that ending.
There's an almost surefire way to avoid the Weasels while driving: as soon as you hear the siren, leave Benny the Cab; the Weasels, too, will leave their vehicle behind, at which point you can reenter Benny and drive off, as the Weasels try to chase you on foot (they never reenter their vehicle for the duration of the "chase").
And you can run over them. :-)
The next time someone asks me to help them, I'm gonna answer: "Yes, this building is empty."

The only thing worthwhile was the driving. Once we got the hang of it, my brother and I tested our skills to see if we could outwit the toon patrol by speeding around the city.

Possibly the most tedious final boss fight in game history.
And holy shit after being lulled into a vegetative state during the fight, you finally win and suddenly you're hit with not one but TWO event you have seconds to react to or you lose and have to do it all again!
This was my absolute favorite game when I was a kid!!!

To think this game was developed by Rareware, who would later go on to develop such awesome games as Donkey Kong Country and Banjo-Kazooie.
I know. It's totally crazy. Not a very good game. Rare actually mad a TON of NES games. I looked it up. Most of them are decent, if not flat out pretty good. Though there are quite a few Not very good games, like this one. More than I would've expected of Rare. Even so, they kicked Major Ass during the SNES and N64 years. The annoying and repetitious music in this game sucks hard. I hate it
This game costed 54 bucks & it was worth about, 10 cents.
Say what you want about this game, but it's one of the first open world games ever made and that's damm impressive

I won't lie, I have only seen the beginning and final boss of this game because of the Nerd.
The other night I had a dream that I saw the PC version of this game (which was a lot different and looked pretty good) in my parent's living room closet and I got all excited but didn't think it would run on a modern computer.
Even though that one little bald guy character that wears several different colors is as pixelized as you can get, he reminds me of the actor Wallace Shawn, the little bald actor with the lisp from the movie The Princess Bride with Andre the Giant
The only way I could beat this game back in the day was to use the NES Advantage joystick, and simultaneously use the slow-motion option and the turbo options to charge up my punch for the Judge Doom fight. Fighting him took about a half-hour to 45 minutes, and most of the time, he would kill me before I could shoot him with the cannon. Good times...sorta.

His name is Robert Zemeckis. He did The Polar Express for Castle Rock Entertainment, THQ and Warner Bros. Entertainment on Nintendo GameCube in 2004.

Shockingly 30 years later - I can still do the Judge Doom brick wall punching "glitch" but its a pain and a timing thing that can make one go mad...
Also, if you tap the button at the right speedwhile fighting Judge Doom, you can keep punching at the full strength meter. Get into a good rhythm and you can make that fight go a lot shorter (although it still takes time).
I remember that technique. I discovered it accidentally while messing around punching people. You super punch him over and over and over again. You gotta practice it first but it works great. Trap him in the corner and WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM.

Later I got the Game Genie and Judge Doom was *still* difficult even with the cheat that Eddie would have the instant powerful punch.
As difficult and as odd as the concept was...the game was and is strangely enjoyable. Pretty neat soundtrack as well. That "continue" screen music is really good...strange a composer would take the time to make such an amazing piece of music for such a minor event.
It takes forever to find cause it spawns in random places.

The player is punching judge doom all wrong. After you charge up your punch, when you hit him, let go of the punch button for a split second, then tap repeatedly to keep the full charge, but punch him repeatedly. It only takes a few seconds to beat the final boss.
As a kid, during my vain attempts to figure this game out, I would usually give up and just go around having Eddie sock people in the face. "Go away you horrid man!"

You can beat Doom with a chain super punch. If I remember, to do this you charge up the punch then when you let go you quickly hold the button again then let go then quickly hold it again then let go. Repeat repeat repeat. You will hard punch Doom over and over and over until he's dead.
Played this, Back to the Future, DD1 & 2, Dick Tracy, Home Alone 2, Festers Quest, American Gladiators, etc. throughout my childhood and I don’t think I beat any of them. Lol.

When I was a kid it took me months to finish it. Didn't know english and hadn't watch the movie. But it was fun. Even though it has the most awful and disappointing ending in the story of video games
always hated this boss fight as a kid
being someone who, as a kid, couldn't even figure out how to cycle through punchlines in the weasel sequences, i'm really disappointed doom is exactly as difficult as the AVGN made him out to be. who the hell at Rare thought this was acceptable? Only thing that could make this worse is if it had a time limit where the dip cannon was actually firing at Roger and Jessica... At least the game has pretty decent music...
I aways felt this game was similar to the TMNT and Dick Tracy nes games where it was just too annoying to play. I love it that Valient can punch women, let alone punch people, in this game. That made me laugh on 2:09.

Why didn't Capcom publish this game, because it had the rights to develop and publish games about Disney characters?
The Walt Disney Company allowed LJN to release toys and a video game based on the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" even before Capcom got a licence for its own purposes, to release more than 5 games for the NES per year.
@@mor_64 Exactly, so that's why it misled me. After LJN and Capcom received a license for different companies: Kemco, Nintendo, Sony, THQ and even Activision (two times the license was received by the latter one).
But hey you know who is Bob Hoskins, Bob is the one guy who own as Eddie Valliant in the first place, but after that in 2014 he passed away in heaven.

Don't hate it but the design was pretty tedious and showed me why I could never finish this game as a kid.
