Hoooly crap, that's exactly how I remember this game too! Except I'd be playing and my parents would be watching me. For the longest time, all I could remember was the death sound and animation. XP

Wow.. so this game was a popular one among parents because out of 100s of ganes I had my father played none but this, and for hours on end..!
My father was a very serious guy, he is even now just as you get old, you have grand children you become softer, but back then he was an angry young men focusing on work and practising art like playing musical instruments as hobbies, games never, while he never stopped us from playing games, damn, he never did, apart from times when we did excess, in fact he bought us PS1 so early that at that time even the rich kids parent's would think twice before getting such an expensive toy.
But out of all things we had, PS1, A Windows 95 PC, he played nothing but this game!
I still remember this music, this music is still vivid i n my memory even after so many years. Nostalgia. 🤗🤗
One of the best tricks in this game is that you can go into a door while an enemy is entering the opposite direction door and you will just pass them harmlessly. Makes it a ton easier.
I discovered that trick in Crazy Castle 2 as well.
If you're falling and a door is right under you, just hold down and you'll enter immediately, though you will take an extra step once you exit that door.

When I was 6, back in 1989, my parents rented this for me. Unfortunately, they rented it on a school night and was I ever mad that I couldn't stay up and play it. I snuck downstairs the next morning before I had to get up and play it. My mom was not happy about that. They later got it for me for my birthday. Good times.
I got confused for a moment and thought by "got it" you meant that's when your parents chose to punish you, on your birthday! But oh, you meant you got the game on your birthday. Sorry, I can't read sometimes!

I still remember playing this with my dad and some friends and today when I am watching it I just thinking that time is really really short it goes in a glimpse and you can't evaluate it and I think that's the best and worst part about it that you can't relieve it .

@@JohnnyD5 Bugs Bunny did jump in the cartoons, but this game never jumps until “Bugs Bunny’s Birthday Blowout” for the NES which was another game that made Bugs Bunny jump.
The pipe levels at the end! Man! It was frustrating as hell sometimes but when u win it gave me the biggest relief I've had.
Need luck factor & waiting for good timing (if not have weapon or things) to run from enemy..Hmm easy game - not also..But I'm enjoying play that until beat this game.
I remember playing this on thr Gameboy version. Even though without the color or the back light. This game is so timeless and so authentic. I remember when i got my super Nintendo. My cousin who had his gameboy. Every weekend we swapped. I had street fighter turbo and mortal kombat which were the hottest games on snes. So in return. I wanted to get on the game boy just to play this game. Nothing but memories with this game. And eneded it countless times and the music themes and the sounds is remarkable and phenomenal.

I remember this game - it was okay for the first ten levels, but after that, it was just plain ridiculous. I even used codes to get to the final level...and proceeded to die many horrible deaths. Good job, Valis!

The music is what stick with for almost 30 years.
The music is what helps make the game a 12/10. See what I did there? Its got some of the best graphics ever for NES. The only knock I have is that you have to let up on the control pad a smidge early to stop continuing from going where you don’t want to.

60 levels and if I’m not mistaken there’s 80 on a different one.
It's 3am and instead of sleeping I'm sitting here remembering the joyful days of my childhood, when trying to beat this game was one of my biggest concerns, haha. I need to replay this amazing game at one point.

A little fun fact: this game is actually a reskin of another game. It was originally Who Framed Roger Rabbit on the famicom. And instead of a bunch of Sylvesters chasing after you, you’re running from the weasels.
i remember pissing off my older brother at the grocery store. It was my turn to choose a game to rent and i chose this lol. "Don't pick that game that's stupid!" he tried to convince me to get tecmo bowl but i was like nah, tthis one lol. ahhh the good ol days of staying up all night in the summer and playin NES.

Wow, I remember when my kids would be up all night playing this game. I started playing it one night and before I knew it, I had played 4 hours and had to get up and go to work the next day!!! So addictive!!! Me and my son was talking about this yesterday!!!❤️

I swear I remember grabbing those (what I called them) Deadly Carrots, and they took me to weird bonus levels or something. They knock Bugs out like an enemy would, but didn't actually make you lose a life.

I love it when someone points out an older person enjoying videogames. I remember reading another commet of someone's grandpa liking to play Doctor Mario. Seems like grandparents like puzzle/thinking games.
It makes them feel rewarded for completing a meager task..also, who doesn't like puzzle?

I finished this game multiple times. It was a very hard ass game. I will still like to play it again.
I remember playing this game growing up. Died multiple times and had to start over A LOT. I was on level 40 and I was saying to myself, "When is this game going to end!" I got to level 60 (I swear it felt like I was on level 100 something) and finished it and yelled out "FINALLY!" when it said "THE END". I shut the game off and hadn't played it since.
This game is so much nostalgic to me, while me and my brothers played all other games on our NES console, this one was one game my father loved and many times when he came back from work I would leave any other game I was on and put this game in because then my father no matter how tired he was from all days work would come and play the game with us. I remember spending hours late night progressing through the levels.. and my father is not someone who even plays games, even now, back then he was even more of a serious person, but this game brought the kid out of him. Not that I am saying he was grumpy guy and he did not spend time with us, just that he did not like or I should say play any other games apart from this.
Out of many things me and my father used to do for fun when he came home, this one is most memorable one, because while playing it we tried passing the levels together, me telling him to go this way, release the boxing gloves, push the box now etc.. it was so much fun.. lol it's literally 3am right now.

Actually this was a Roger Rabbit game in Japan. The USA version of Roger Rabbit was published by LJN/Acclaim and developed by Rare Ltd., while Capcom had exclusive licensing deals covering other Disney franchises (DuckTales, Chip 'n' Dale's Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, etc.) in the USA for the Nintendo.
I remember playing this game back when it was barely out. I really like the song that plays during Stage 1. It's a okay game and the overall music and sounds effects in game are good. But I can also see how it can get boring very quickly.
