My two-cents from my Milanese critical eyes after having lived there for decades.First pic, change the jeans to loser one not tight and the top change to white or black. Writing this on 3rd mins in. Tone and tone beige and brown or monochromatic of brown colour is very winter and summer. Just a matter of fabric changed accordingly. That brown vest and black pants, great for autumn, not winter. The guy with the black and tartan shirt with the jeans and the jacket, perfect!! Don't go for stretching tight kind of trousers on winter or summer. That guy with an olive denim, perfect!! Except perhaps not having black colours on the sweater but brown of even orange or burnt orange.

The last pic... great jacket! Levi's 'commuter' series makes a very similar one that i personally own and use almost every day. It has a few added features and is cut better than any other denim i have owned. Also Banana Republic sells a boot almost exactly like those for a great price, I've used them constantly this winter and they have worn very well. Thanks for another great video

Quarter zips seem to have replaced the crew neck sweater which is fine with me. They also come in so many styles and fabrics. Maybe the most versatile layering piece?

Solid looks, Gents. Props to those wearing leather jackets! Personal favorite look was #1. Nit pick, I’d change the shirt, otherwise solid. For the gentleman with the jean jacket that was a smidge too big. What’s everyone’s thoughts on boiling it for 5 minutes? I did that to a pair of jeans (20 min) and shaved a full size. Looses maybe 10% of the color, but worth saving the jeans for me. Missed this round, next time! Well done, John!

40 Over Fashion - I hadn’t either until I was trying to save a $400 pair of jeans that were a size too big. I didn’t want to tailor them, wanted the entire pant to shrink. I was skeptical, but it works. Only slight color fade for me. No visible nit/thread difference. NOT RECOMMEND FOR WAXY JEANS!
Didn’t you mention losing weight recently? Maybe try it on an experimental pair. I’m fairly confident you’ll like the results and not notice any difference other than fit.
***Important! If you have a leather tag over belt loop remove it before boiling or it will shrink at 10x the rate of pants. Replace tag after boiling.

I enjoyed the video, John. I haven't mastered social media as yet so I was unable to send a photo. From watching this I think I have it under control. Keep in mind that I am a larger man....6'1" 320 lbs.....and that I am now 72. I typically wear solid, darker colors. My go to cold weather outfit is dark jeans/black or navy Chinos; paired with a deep toned turtle neck or dark toned shirt and contrasting vest. Usually with a sportcoat or a leather jacket (often with the turtleneck).

Some really great looks from the community and some great commentary John! If I may offer a second opinion for the gentleman at 18:00 mark, as he seems to have similar proportions to me. At least in the photo he looks like he has muscles with extra weight. I think perhaps a choice in darker pants along with higher rise pants can really change the look, not that this look is bad at all. Just think that it would make him look slimer at the legs, creating a more trapezoid-shape rather than rectangle-shape from head to toe. Then again, it's a photo so the proportions might have been distorted by the camera lens!

Great video! I realize you get a lot of questions so no problem if you don't have time to answer my question. From watching your videos, you don't recommend very light wash denim for men over 40 but white denim is fine. Is that correct and is there that much of a difference between the two? Thanks
In my opinion, white denim is more of an occasion based decision and not an every day option. Blue denim tends to look better on more experienced guys when it’s darker in color tone. Again, my opinion. Thanks for commenting!
