- did u know his name is nino?
Season 6, Episode 10
Gordon heads to the coastal community of Long Beach, California, to save Nino's, an Italian family restaurant that was opened in 1958 and is now under the misguided leadership of the eldest son, Nino.
Season 6, Episode 13
Gordon visits Greek restaurant Yanni's in Seattle, where he clashes with defiant owner Peter, a chef who is so set in his ways that he hasn't allowed any changes to his menu since the business opened in 1984. His own family are concerned that the restaurant is becoming trapped in the past, but Peter is determined to stick to his guns.

Legend has it, that if you are all alone cleaning and whisper "Im Ninnnnooooo", he appears for a second to take a picture of you cleaning.
underrated comment award
It's true. I summoned him 12 times the other night, now my kitchen is all over his instagram
😂😂😂😂😂
can confirm, was alone in the bathroom and he snapped a pic of me, cleaning me bum.
LOL!!!!!!!!! FUCK YEAH!!!!
I was hoping this was Mike saying “I’m NINOOO!” on loop for an hour and a half.
I thought they did that already. lol
Why not make another one
Me too 😄😄😄
Just make it lmao
My favorite dialogue in this episode:
N: “I, personally, clean EVERYTHING. At 8am!”
G: “what about the gum under this very table?”
N: “well, I wouldn’t be looking around under the tables in YOUR restaurant”
G: “You wouldn’t find gum under my table either”
N: "Hehehehe"
one of the greatest gordon ramsay combacks of all time lmao
M: (mocking his moms accent) "I come in here, you two fighting."
most times crying at every simple thing is a trauma response, and looking at this family I’m not surprised. 100% feel her.
Sadly I know what that's like. 😞
The girl who cried cinnamon 😢
Yes, doesn't help that the parents are emotionally unavailable and the younger child gets preferred treatment since her crying isn't being denied. As someone who grew up into the cry side into a rage family I can understand her behaviour escalating.
Peter is a textbook raging vulnerable narcissist. His family needs a hostage liberation team to get them out and then therapy to recover from his constant assaults, and tariya needs affection like a desert traveller needs a glass of water.
I feel called out.
It actually made me smile when Gordon was talking to the daughter when she was upset. It’s clear that the family disregards her stress and I can tell that he really calmed her down.
Right! I wouldn't be surprised if she got diagnosed with anxiety/ depression. I had severe anxiety a few years ago and would cry at almost anything. It felt like I was always one thread away from falling apart. I didn't realize how bad it was until I started taking Lexapro, and a few months later, I realized I wasn't always sad anymore. I hope she got help.
He is really sweet when people get upset.
I love how Nino magically appears with each thing Gordon tastes even after being told to leave him alone to eat lunch 😂
Gordon hates being hovered over when he's eating.
Yanni‘s Greek Restaurant is actually still in business and rated 4.7/5 on google 🙌🏻 However Nino‘s is a nono 💔
Glad it does for Yanni and so sad for Nino's... Thank you very much for the update 👍
That comment sounds just like a Kitchen Nightmares/Hell's Kitchen monologue

He was like "Damn that was a really bad dad joke."

I love the mom in the second one, she did everything perfectly when Gordon was seeing how service goes but she still said “our fault” and didn’t push the blame on anyone else!
The second episode, Yanni's... I seriously empathize with the one that "cries a bunch". I got screamed at since I was young by teachers for crying over small things, and it made me eventually unable to cry unless pushed extremely hard. I just wanna give her a hug
The way his brother said " HELLO MY NAME IS NINO" I must of died laughing looool
The cameraman wasn’t ready
You think Gordon says "Hello, my name's Nino," at random when nothing's going on?
I'd also like to think RuPaul says "Miss Vaaanjie!" randomly when no one's around.
I love how the eldest daughter gets told off and told stop crying yet when the youngest cries she doesn't get told off and the older sister hugs her and everything so likeeee why does the family treat their eldest differently
I mean, sadly most families have a similar dynamic where they favor one child over the other
They said the eldest daughter is constantly crying. I have a friend like her who bursts into tears constantly under emotional stress..and half the time she has no idea why she is crying.
And the younger daughter is probably getting comforted because she is usually strong and it’s rare for her to cry.
I mean you can't really blame her family. She legit cried every few other minutes, most of the time over some small issues. Understand she's stressed but her family are stressed as well. I believe they've comforted her before but having her constantly and repeated crying over there, they can't help it
story of my lifeeeeee lol
If your sibling would cry every 10 minutes over too much garlic in the dish you wouldn't take that as seriously as the other breaking down for the first time and dropping the tough personality for once
The younger daughter going, "It's supposed to be white, what do you want me to do, make it burnt and black?" and then disagreeing with Gordon's assessment that she's giving attitude instead of being professional is crazy to watch lmao, she literally said something super snarky and then tried to act like she wasn't being a smartass. Also, as an edit, Karen is the only person who knew what was up, I think it's incredible she's still married to Peter. I feel so awful for the older sister who had to grow up with a father like him, that's so damaging, no wonder the poor woman cries all the time.
yeah younger daughters switch up took me aback for a sec but honestly a classic response from a girl with a father like that (i can relate lol). it made me sad when she yelled at her sister to stop crying; it’s sad that their relationship is suffering bc of this too :(
The youngest daughter is depressed which is obvious, her sadness is well sad.
Some people like her dad are their own worst enemies, as my Teacher use to say to us at school "put your listening ears on", 👂👂.
If anyone is wondering, Yanni’s is still open. Reviews are generally very positive.
Not to lie, I stopped eating out since I started binge watching Chef Ramsay😅🤣
Well you're saving money at least😅

Exactly. When you tell someone that and the first words out of their mouth is “no i’m not” it’s hilarious. Actually, that’s exactly what that is!
"You two thighting" 😂😂😂😂😂
"Hello my names NinnnnOOoOoooOoooOooo"

I THINK I WOULD CRY AS MUCH AS THE 1 DAUGHTER
OF PETER HE WAS SUCH A
BULLY TO HIS FAMILY.
Yeah, I hate how many people mock the older daughter for crying, when people under stress could do so much worse. Like come on, she is crying. Not throwing stuff, not abusing substances to help with stress, all she's got is the calming chemicals in her body produced by a good cry, and people get mad because it is ANNOYING??? It could be so much worse. All she is doing, is showing that she is hurt, how can you hate that. And it really looks like genuine tears, not crocodile tears to manipulate people.

Michael went from being the hero to being the villain and Neno was a villain who became the hero. Storybook stuff 👌
In what dream world? Nino is clearly a raging addict and a pathological liar. As nobody had the balls to have him flung into an insane asylum, he drove the restaurant into the ground. Mike simply dropped truth bombs.
Nino clearly is the most likeable of the two. Even when Nino was lazy you see more love between the sister/mom and Nino than between them and Michael. Despite all Ninos laziness the sister and mother were still very subtle with their critique and gave Nino support 20:08.
When Michael had one bad night the sister spoke out full mouth and was very harsh 41:13. I guess Nino is a nice and warm guy, just lazy while Michael is stubborn and cold.
No matter if Nino or Michael is the bad guy it is Michael against Nino, sister & mom.
@@Clever738 Nah, Karina flip flopped when she realized which brother was the actual opportunist; guaranteed that Michael fucker's actual job benefitted by his shitty opinions of Nino, when that scenario got erased by Ramsey she changed her opinion of him. Tell alyse to stop yelling at her sister when she cries. Not her fault and she's a bitch for yellin.
Is the hot overly sensitive daughter still serving?
@Yomamadrunk it is her fault. She is an adult. She needs to be more proactive in her mental health. Nobody has time to coddle someone when they cry every 5 minutes. Seek help!!!

The fact that Gordon is touching everything with his bare hands if baffling to me. I'd want to bleach and burn mine if I touched stuff like that without gloves😭
Obviously you’ve never seen what happens within the four walls of a kitchen hehe
@ryan_m_k I think they mean the gum on the bottom of the tables and the cobwebs. I know cooking without gloves isn't as good as hand washing, but I still am not scraping gum off with my nails too prove a point😂

Nino wants the restaurant to stay open or else he has to find a real job.
Fair point
I love how Gordon has no shame touching the nastiest things LOL He picked up a dead mouse with his bare hands at least once during this tv series, cobwebs like its nothing, rotting food, gum under tables haha legend
Love editing for Ninos sudden appearances. Amazing
I know a lot of these episodes seem repetitive , but the point -which I really appreciate - is that Gordon isn’t just trying to criticize and hurt these restauranteurs, nor is it solely for entertainment value .. it’s a question of standards. I think we all can agree ( especially those of us who have worked in the restaurant industry ) the bar is waaaaay too low in restaurant quality. For fvck’s sake in EVERY industry. Let’s all reflect on the idea of lifting up our standards, both in restaurants and everywhere else !
We have the technology!!
Why do we have to settle for shit?
Maybe/maybe not that was Gordon’s objective, but the allegory is clear to me …
If we can see the solution in these repetitive episodes, we can see the solution for the bigger picture..
lAlso Tariya is adorable. Expressing your emotions is NOT shameful - she’s probably the most sane out of the lot, being in touch with her emotions actually makes sense here. Everyone else puts up a stone face ( Denial).
@1:08:15 I wish Gordon said to her “stop crying!” Like she did to her sister
Crazy how the sister came to her side to comfort her when she was crying but All she kept telling her was Stop crying the whole show. Hugs needed for both girls from their parents just the start of what's needed
I enjoyed so much that Nino had photos of himself cleaning. Amazing. He seemed to do great at the end though! Hope they had success
When Nino's brother completely shits on him and has zero faith in him I found it so crushing. It's not easy to admit shortcomings, it's even harder to realize them, try to be better, struggle, and have no support from your brother.
I mean, when you fuck up for so many years, you would also lose hope, especially when it's a family business
The brother has likely seen this exact spiel many times before, sincere promises of change, followed by a swift return to old patterns soon thereafter. You cannot fault him for learning from experience and being realistic.
It’s because he knows exactly what Nino is like, he’s heard the same crap before
Yeah i found it weird that gordon and the family gave him another chance after what seemed years of nino sitting back and letting the rest do the work. Maybe because the siblings had other jobs and so nino was the only realistic option left to step up to the role? Maybe after gordon left, nino did continue doing a good job controlling the tickets and communicating orders to the kitchen. However as a manager thats not the only part of the job you need to control the business as a whole which is something nino couldnt do and the mum had to be more involved again as mentioned at the end of the episode. They were always doomed long term with even a changed for the better nino, and i think the brother knew that…
That’s the problem with addiction it doesn’t just affect the addict it affects the family too. It seems Michael has taken it the worst.
1st it was one sad sister crying all the time, with others having a go at for weeping, but it transpired she was just the canary in the goldmine, for they all cried when the teargas travelled through the whole restaurant.
Fair play to the dad as i thought he'd be a stubborn mule of a man to change, but he fully embraced it.
What a turnaround, what a joy to watch!
Thanks GR for another feelgood show.
I am a guy 56 years old but i will admit a lot of these videos bring a tear to my eye on the way Chef helps people out on their dreams and gives things a facelift and just what they need and you can see the happiness on their faces once all that happens they have hope and inspiration to do whatever it takes to change and make things work, there I said it men have feelings also especially for others being happy and no I am not a 56 year old wussy it is touching at one point in all these kitchen nightmares, the mother looks so happy and I am sure the rest are also even though they have doubts because some are just not buying it like Mike but that is his problem for not having mercy and forgiving I don't know if that will happen or not maybe Mike needs another job besides the one he has now.
I'm with you, legitimately made me feel full of joy to see how happy Gordon made the Greek restaurant family and how receptive and appreciative they were. Everyone rags on Nino but Michael kind of causes Ninos behavior. They really don’t show Nino support, just treat him like a punching bag. If it’s been his whole life like that I could see Nino developing a defense mechanisms and rationalization traits to try and prevent depression. Idk, I always just end up feeling bad for Nino.

Kitchen Nightmares has returned, it’s very nice. The show has changed to work with those who will truly commit, as well as restaurants having issues but not past the point of no return, and it’s much less dramatic lol
Thank you Gordon for this one for sure
The stress of watching these episodes makes my shoulders and neck burn on fire in pain
I honestly can relate to the Mike and Nino situation. Imagine having a sibling slack or make excuses most of your life then suddenly, BOOM, they actually change, but it doesn't long, and that cycle continues. But now this time is permanent? I'd be hesitant to accept that as well, as someone in a similar issue. I can see why Nino is now upset with Mike feeling like nothing will work or help the tension, but I can also empathize with Mike too about this. It's hard to seriously believe in a family member about change when all you knew was "oh i'll change now" and they don't really do so.
That whole exchange between Nino and his mother in front of the "closed" restaurant seems *extremely* fake. They're not exactly great actors lol
Yeah, the show is scripted.
