- Can am defender HD10. Installed this back up camera as my rear view mirror. Now I can see the rear of the vehicle while plowing, backing up in the woods and when window is blocked by my gun scabbards. #canam #brandmotion #sidebyside #backupcamera
Good morning I see you have the roof liner do you need both pieces front and back or can I just use and mount the back cause my sound bar is up front
You don’t neeeeed the front plastic roof piece. There is a frame piece there. The plastic piece actually screws to it. You should still have that. The screen screws to the bottom of that. If this is what you were asking?

No. To the roof power block up top front.
I'm looking at this camera install on my defender after seeing this. What bracket did you use to mount it to the existing rear view mirror bolt holes? Thanks
Bracket that came with it and perfect in existing holes.
What rear window do you have on your defender? I assume its part of the soft enclosure? what make/model?
It’s just the can am rear slider. In the catolog.
Just going through some of your videos and was noticing @ 1:56, something above the reverse LCD screen. Is that a temperature gauge? Did you install?
Joe Whitaker yes it is. I installed that. Thought it would be nice to see outside temps while heading to the deer stand and plowing.

I've also ordered the same backup lights you shared on your videos. Waiting on them (backordered) .... and planning on upgrading to the bed winch and power dump bed in coming months (we have bears on the property I hunt ... killed a 420lb bear a few years back, so those would have made life much easier). I'm also a bowhunter, so I'm sure I'll do something like you did with your bow rack.
Joe Whitaker it works best with air blowing across the sensor. All depends where you put it. I went in the easiest spot. Straight up and underneath my 4 lights on top. I had to drill a small hole in the lighting base to let more air in. Would work best in a more open spot, but I wanted it protected from ice. Works good though.
Joe Whitaker that’s great! We have small black bears here, but I don’t hunt them. The winch and bed lift will make life much easier.
Do you have some schematic or wiring diagram on how you wired it up to the defender?
No. It’s plug and play. Just need to wire to the hot and ground up in the overhead. Really easy
One year later, still liking it? Recommend it? Looking to add to my Defender.

Todd Ray I didn’t see it in my videos this morning either. Not sure what happened. ???? If you search can am defender back up camera... it comes up. Not sure why it’s not in my videos though.
