Yep. The heat gun can help. Also putting the piece in direct sunlight might get you there.

Asking questions before you even watch the video lol

No. You CANNOT use a heat gun! If you are asking questions that were answered twice in under 3 minutes in the video, then you are not smart enough to use a heat gun.

Every one I have ever taken off rips in tiny pieces. It took us 2.5 hours for a 1 foot section. Horrible!

Right, this is my question as well. What is best way to get the old glue off? Acetone or something similar?

@@sportscar-network Yes, thats what you have to do but it's difficult with the stock grip texture of many stock boat decks. Also, too much acetone can effect the fiberglass so it has to be done cautiously.

@@sportscar-network Acetone will not hurt the gelcoat, which is covering and protecting the fiberglass. Acetone flashes before it could penetrate gelcoat. Acetone will dissolve marine paint, so don't use it on painted surfaces, but most commercially produced boats are gelcoated, not painted. In order to penetrate the gelcoat and damage the fiberglass, you would need to pour out enough to maintain a standing puddle for a couple hours.
