    The GED book is excellent to study for the ASVAB. Most of the questions in the book will be on the actual test.

    Thanks for citing that "keeping your options open" for job selection, but like you have that specific job you want, what are the options if you like to stick to getting that job. Like can you go not sign a contract at MEPS and come back at a later date, or can you go into DEP? What are the possible options for this.

    people should not be worried about jobs and recruiter has no involvement with what rates are available to qualify for. The Army plays the you can pick your job before going to MEPS and not even knowing if you qualify. Marines get open contract until after basic. Air force gets a field or certain MOS while at basic. Navy you get your guaranteed job or professional apprentice in contract prior to DEP. Id rather have some sort of guarenteed job or PACT area before shipping out then not having a guaranteed job at all

  • @koolaidkush7
    @koolaidkush7 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Very informative! I definitely have an open mind when it comes to the different jobs in the navy. But I also want to think long term career wise about how those jobs will transition into civilian life after you have served. Corpsman is my first choice but I am also considering EOD, Aviation crewman, sonar tech, OS, catapult officer, pilot, & aviation rescue, & submarine officer. Although all those seem so cool & I would like to keep my options open. How would those jobs help me get a civilian job once I have served? A lot of ppl do not have videos on this so hard to find. I thought corpsman would be the best fit since I am already in the medical field & want to be a surgical tech, anesthesiologist tech, or dental hygienist longterm as well as have my own business but if its not available idk what I would do lol

    • @ZENEZ
      @ZENEZ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      This is a good question , to be honest all jobs transpire into something plus you just having military experience in general will already put you ahead when it comes to civilian jobs , plus remember you can use tuition assistance while your in and work towards any degree path you want as well

    • @koolaidkush7
      @koolaidkush7 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ZENEZ awesome! Do they pay your full tuition? & is the tuition only while you are serving or after? How can you attend school while you are in?

    Hey 1st great Video keep it up👍 for those of you trying to join if a recruiter tells you that the job you want is not available simply say ok no problem I'll just come back when it is available or just say you'll rather wait. After you will notice your recruiter pull a rabbit out of his Butt 🤣 and tell you he will work something out and get you what you requested. The reason why is because they get paid more if you join that is their job to recruit yo Azz. (Just a tip)

    Just took the practice asvab today and scored a 37. What is the required score to be eligible for SeaBee rates? I’m very interested in the CE, BU, and SW rates. Are you allowed to keep retesting until you’re eligible for those rates? Thanks!

    • @ZENEZ
      @ZENEZ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Tbh I don’t know much about Seabee because they don’t really offer it anymore it’s slowly getting phased out . did you try asking your recruiter that you tested with? You can only test a couple times . And rates aren’t guaranteed . So if your happy with your score I would just stick with that

    • @viviancoleman8417
      @viviancoleman8417 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@RobertRed baby go anything but aviation 😂 I like it because it suites my abilities and it’s easy for me personally. I’m an ABH so aircraft handler, but I would have rather been someone chillin behind the scenes on a computer. I would’ve never thought I’d say that but the navy is a bunch of busy work when not out to sea and when not in operations, which for most folks is most of their career these days. The navy is smooth I love what I chose to do in life and I do not regret it. I’ve met friends I’ll be with for life within just my first year, shit from bootcamp I was lucky enough to ride by their side to our first command, unlike some. But choose a job that you can benefit from fr when you get out and DO NOT SETTLE. If you have to RETAKE THAT ASVAB and wait on a better opportunity. The civilian world is shitty but it’s the same shit as the military just different standards and styles. You could make much more in the civilian world if you HAVE A PLAN. If not you’ll be straggling which is why I joined and it’s opened my eyes a lot. Back to your question though, I love being an ABH for the humorous people and the high standards we hold ourselves to vs the rest of the ship rates. And taking care of aircraft, simply being around them and seeing them operate is dope themselves. All AB rates work hard, don’t be an ABF tho lol
