Low accuracy is a strength, in high numbers it acts as splash damage so they're basically a mangonel on a horse
Dawn of the Dukes
With update 56005, Manipur Cavalry gives cavalry units +5 attack against archers and no longer affects Arambai.
I actually think Arambai should get the ability to attack ground. It'll make it way more unique than just any other Cav Archer unit.
I don’t think you realize how strong that would make them. Attack ground would be insignificant vs groups because they still miss and hit.
But in low numbers micro battles this would make the unit so good in early castle.
What makes the unit balance is their low accuracy.
Yes, make them more op! Great idea
@@superstar5042 yeah absolutely! Who cares about other people who think they are OP right? It’s not like they will get angry on TH-cam or anything for everyone else to see!
Lmao
given their accuracy, they already attack mostly ground :D
They used to meitei warriors used arambai when on horses and then attack by swords called ....thang ta ......that combinations made them defeat enemies easily....this is just a game ....real war they used horses elephants spears swords arambai arrows
"Manipur Cavalry is supposed to affect all cavalry units, including unique units. However, since some units do not have a defined 0 attack, it does not affect the Camel Rider, Armored Elephant, Magyar Huszar, Steppe Lancer, and Mameluke lines."
So it affects the eles, scout line and knight line.
@@dougler500 You can read the full explanation on the wiki. Cavalry which aren't unique. Elephants, Scouts, Knights in this case. I think they only mention the others because you could have custom scenarios or civs etc.
In the changelog section you can also find this. Patch was released November 17, 2021:
"With update 56005, Manipur Cavalry no longer affects Arambai, and provides +5 attack against archers instead of +6 attack against buildings."
Edit: oops, someone had already posted this patch. I'll still leave it here :D
U can now see the strength of real Arambai in present Manipur crisis
Maybe its worth mixing in a few cav archers with the arambai early on so killing single units is a bit more consistent and you can mass an army faster (they share all the same upgrades). Also the monk speed upgrade is so cheap for the burmese (60g) that you usually get your money back from getting the relics home faster (or at all).
Considering that Burmese don't get thumb ring, I'm not sure mixing in CA will increase the consistency of damage.
@@rovsea-3761 Also only one archer armour upgrade.
@@dougler500 Well, Cavalry archers in Castle age at least don't really need to worry about whether they have 1 or 2 armor, and in Imp you at least have parthian tactics, which would mitigate missing other armor somewhat, but not having Thumb Ring just kills the idea on the spot.
Manipur cavalry also affects battle elephants but not arambai
8:05 “OHhhhh Babyyy a Triple!!”
This guy plays well and should go pro, but needs to learn simple game mechanics like "parthian tactic and manipur cavalry don't affect arambai
apparently nobody knows this since first 6 chat responses were yes - turns out a garbage unit like arambai doesn't get a lot of traction with the pros, no surprise he doesn't know
But there's literally no reason parthian tactics wouldn't effect them.
@@rovsea-3761 Balance
"make vil from the tc"
@@jcpkill1175 it doesn't make sense for Burmese to have them in first place lol, cav archers without thumb ring are ass and they lack lot of armor
The best way I have found to get multiple kills by Arambai is simply to not micro them once they are sufficiently close. No target fire. They choose their own target and missed shots also deal damage to other units not causing an overkill.
Yeah, get up close point blank and attack move/patrol.
The real arambai micro is like this: if you want to kill unit A you hit unit Z, so you kill units G, H, L, B, Y, and then you kill unit A with something else, while unit Z is still slive
Dude you're really good. You should go pro.
you're ironic aren't you? XD
@@SoulBadoulibur2024 no hes genuine
The Manipur Cavalry tech affects all the cavalry units from the Stable.
everytime I see GLthe viper I always read good luck viper in my head
So funny how Viper rather debates 10 minutes with his chat instead of opening scenario editor for 10 seconds :D
Next video: Grubby is now a 2k3 Burmese main thank’s to Viper’s coaching
"what if conquistador but with a sawed-off shotgun"
Arambai have a VERY specific situational niche - countering tight clumps of stationary (ranged) units. Outside of that they are ass and so inaccurate. They aren't even as good at killing siege as you'd guess from their high damage projectiles. Only tight clumps of units. This showcased that perfectly, why the opponent decided to stay clumped is beyond me. They probably have never seen Arambai actually used or just forgot since it's been 3-4(?) years since they got nerfed.
Also works wonders vs infantry swarms especially the dreaded halberd herds are even easier to clean up with arambai then with CA...aim for a unit 2 rows deep in the formation and enjoy the fireworks 🤣
@@grraf1 dang I'll have to try this! Even better with a meatshield I'm guessing
Intelligence says Arambai have 5 range. Wisdom says they're mini-mangonels at melee range.
Mass arambai = Shotgun
Ok Viper is insane, arambai just good if you heal (hard for noobs to play monks) and intimidante 2k players, song song's army worng formation.
Are Arambai insane or should they be buffed? Like T90 would say, it depends.
are they effective against wide formation too?
It's 2022, so the unique tech affects any unit who identifies itself as cavalry.
hahaha good one
you researched parthian tactics but arambai aren't affected by that tech even though they should be.
Don’t they get the armor buff from the tech?
@@kell2859 yeah, they are classified as "Conquisitador" together with Conquisitador, both didn't get Parthian Tactics benefits
We know you said it before he was even born
Viper what you think of Burmese getting Arsons effects mounted units?
Ok stop it right there lol, we don't want old saracens cav archers back
Arambai is not for burmese , Arambai is used by Meitei warrior in Kangleipak now known as Manipur state in India , Burmese scared everytime when they saw arambai tenngol , tenggol means army armbai means weapon they use.
@TheViper did you change something in streaming settings or display quality? The quality I get now is insanely good 🙂. I usually watch in 1480p but something changed..
I love Burmese but they need buff ):
Give them leather archer armor.
Manipur made history
Wtf they started in feudal…
stagger formation, got it.
Make skirms and like 1 or two mangonels or scorpions. Bye bye arambai. Suprised the opp. stayed on pure arba so long.
Arambai aren't insane. Viper is. Stop misleading the devs bro. The unit sucks. Probably the worst unique unit right now since Indians lost their elephant archer and got Ghulam (which by the way are pretty insane).
@Pedro Carvalho its fine.
Its not very high or very low
In comparison elite mangudai or hun cav archers have 4 p armour and 80 hp
Arambai have only 3 p armour but have 85 so u see at the end of the day it isnt that bad
@@Achilles75 maybe... but huns lack 2 PA as a compensation of 20% CA cost reduction. Mangudai is the best unit in the game. Conquistadors are the true comparable unit i think, and they have 6
mangudai being the best unit may or may not be true.
Its a really strong unit no doubt in that and so is the conq.
Both r extremely powerful units but all i am saying is ur statement of 3 PA being ridiculous isnt exactly crct
Arambai once massed is quite deadly (they r not the best cav archer units and i accept it) but they are not as terrible as ppl think.
Some ppl in the comments were asking y songsong didnt use spread formation against arambai but even if he did arambai would still kill multiple arbs in the same volley but of c it wouldn't be as bad as stacking them all together
Arambai are so weak against skirmisher, i smile when i see someone making Arambai. Arambai are so bad.
@@andrewdaniel2441 if u have 10 15 arambai many lf them will hjt skirms and due to their high attk arambai will cut thru their armour
But in low numbers they wont hit anything
i get it. they are like concs just with less dmg and range and accuracy. so.. no you are still insane. but gg.
They are weaker than conqs in low numbers, but better than conqs in high numbers.
Biggest difference is extremely different eco wise, since Conqs need food but not Arambai, so it's possible to either back Arambai up with light cav, or go imp.
Vat
"it depends" is not popular or funny. Just answer the question using the 1 or 2 most common scenarios and move on, like a normal person.
