🤔 What is Leveraged Trading? 🤔
It is trading with more money than you have. To expand on that a bit more, it is entering positions on the market that are many multiples of what you are putting down as collateral.
This collateral is more commonly called your "margin" and it is usually measured as a percentage of the amount that you can trade with. Gains and losses are magnified by said factor.
📉 History of Futures 📉
They were initially used centuries ago as a method for farmers to hedge the risk out of foreward prices for commodities. They would sell their product into the future in order to secure a price for it when it came to market.
Futures markets eventually rolled out to the currency markets in the early 1970s, interest rate markets in 1975 and stock indexes in the 1980s. Eventually, by the 2000's you had futures instruments on single stocks as well.
These did make their way into the retail markets through the numerous online brokerage accounts offered to US traders.
₿ Futures in Bitcoin ₿
One of the first exchanges to offer Leveraged Bitcoin trading through futures was of BitMEX. Registered in the Seychelles and run out of Hong Kong, this was one of the predominant Bitcoin futures exchanges for a number of years.
They gave Bitcoin traders the opportunity to trade their perpetual futures instruments of up to 100 times.
🖥 Current Shape of Market 🖥
There is a lot more compeition from leveraged exchanges now. Something else also happened back in 2017. The CME and CBOE both released their own regulated and exchange listed Bitcoin futures. Demand for these products has steadily been increasing over the past 3 years.
This was mainly driven by a surge in institutional interest in Bitcoin futures. So much so that other providers like Bakkt also listed their own physically settled Bitcoin futures
💸 How Exchnages Make Money 💸
An exchange is just a centralised trading engine that matches buyers and sellers of futures contracts. They will charge commission on all of the trades that they match.
Apart from facilitating the exchange, they also make sure that the trading pool is kept solvent. They have to make sure that in the event of extreme market moves, those that are close to depleting their margin will have their position closed. This is to protect what is called "bankruptcy" in the position.
In order to do this, the exchanges will operate a liquidation engine. These are designed to execute trades and de-risk a position. Every time that they do this they will earn commission on the trades that are met and executions that are done.
They also operate what is called an "insurance pool". These are funded by trader's margin and are used in order to reduce risk to the trading pool and prevent socialised losses.

You should consider if you even want to do it. Have you traded in the spot market before and have you developed a trading strategy? This could be a fundamental one based on price action or a more technical one that is shaped by the charts. Do you have a money management strategy?
This should be viewed as a completely separate component from your Hodl portfolio. It should also be funds that you should comfortably be able to lose without breaking the bank. You should then decide on what exchange you want to trade on

Leverage using margin on exchanges is actually a really complicated affair and I think people would do well to avoid it unless you really really know what you're doing as a trader as far as quickly calculating and managing risk. You really have to understand concepts like the amount of loss that you can take before margin call/liquidation in order to properly understand the risk of leveraged trades. I think the best use of margin leverage for an active trader is just using it for positions that are reasonable relative to your account size, (as in less than) in order to leave more of your capital free for other things. Trying to use it to multiply your account in to one position in anything with even a little volatility is like trying to drive drunk in rush hour traffic. In other words, if you don't fully understand it and you're not ready to use it in a responsible manner, stay away!

Fantastic video Guy. I have been a trader for a while and I can tell you that the house definitely has the edge. What a lot of people innocently do not realize is that the exchanges completely cheat those who are not in their inner circle. I caught this early in the game when a bot on a very large quantity constantly cut me by one one-thousandth of the value simultaneously on every one of my sell bids. When I cancelled the order it would shoot back up to a much profitable position. Point being it prevented me from selling period and just ground me down. Then I had a vibrant discussion with the exchange. :)
I would like to hear about DIVI and the opportunities of great monthly returns they are promising with their node investments.

You can show us a viable strategy on how to collect those profits and BACKTEST IT using the 2017 December bull run (so we can actually see real life results when the strategy is applied)

Well done for reaching 50k subscribers! Such a milestone! Your content is very well thought and enjoyable to watch.
My suggestion would be “Analysis of upcoming coins/projects/companies to have in your radar”.
You could also start a pretend-portfolio with an imaginary budget (let’s say £1000 for example) and tell your audience how you would invest it while aiming for short-term to mid-term gains. Every week/video, you would update us on any changes or gains you’ve made. Thought that would be a fun game!

Guy - The main reason i started watching your videos was your token overviews. Any time i want to check out a new cryptocurrency i always come to your channel first. The in depth research and analysis you provide is always the best place to start. I also love it when you provide follow up/update videos on projects you previously reviewed. In my opinion that is your best work. With that being said, i would love to see more reviews on not just the tokens but the overall protocols their dapps as well, particularly in the Defi space. some interesting ones to look at would be aave, curve, balancer, gnosis, instadapp etc.
The yield farming video you made the other day was a great example. Regardless of what you decide just wanna say thanks for all the work you put in - you do your research and it shows. Keep the great content coming, cheers

Great videos I wouldn't change a thing other than stick to a regular format so there is continuity in your spotlight project videos. For instance some of your video describe the projects ICO's and other you mention but don't describe what price they were offered at.
As far as a suggestion how about another defi project video on DMM/DMG.

Content suggestions: Your long-term portfolio strategy. How much do you plan to sell and what price? How much are you going to hodl? When do you rebalance? How much do you DCA? What is your overall portfolio holdings do you plan to deversify into real estate or equities? Also RSR is an interesting project highly speculative though. A few suggestions that may be worth exploring:
1) Retiring with Crypto e.g. building a passive income portfolio to fund the retirement lifestyle.
2) Pool.Together - an interesting savings approach similar to UK Premium Bonds - More people should be using it.
3) Alternatives to MetaMask
4) Avoiding Gas fees / reducing transaction fees. I'm not sure if it is possible - but I know that I'm personally very conscious of fees as they can quickly eat up any gains if one isn't careful, I've also had a few failed transactions (double fees! - how frustrating!).
Anyhow, I'm obviously desperate for a Ledger :) But your channel has been a big turning point in my relationship with Crypto! Thank you for all your hard work. Using your content I'm working very hard at building a passive portfolio to fund an early retirement or at least partial retirement in the near future!

4. What is the potential for the BTC price to be manipulated by the use of "paper bitcoin" traded apart from the underlying BTC, similar to how silver and gold prices have been kept down by the use of derivatives? Hi. Learning how to choose a new DEFI project. What requirements should it met, in order to be considered a good option?
Just a quick suggestion back to basics what my 70+ yr old dad would like to know that I can't readily reply to about crypto: how is the mined "coins" circulated from mining farms or equipments to the RL individuals? and understanding that the digital currency is decentralized unlike Central banks minting paper bills, how could the ordinary working individuals get hold of these currencies and minimize the possibility of monopoly?

- quick tips about how to start, open account, and operate in specific crypto projects and exchanges (like Unibright, Compound, MakerDAO, etc) with practical examples. Not only talking about but also showing how to operate, use and take benefits from it. And of course informing about risks and how not use it as the beginners. Just essence videos. :)

topic: Ripple as a company is going to IPO and potential listing in US stock market later this year or early next year according to its CEO statement in DAVOS meeting 2020. What is the impact of it on XRP future price action?
1. NOTHING beats videos that actually show you how to use a platform.
2. New promising under the radar projects
3. A 2-5min section where you explain a new coin and what it does, starting from top 100-200 without any order. This segment also has huge potential ..
All of these require huge research effort and determination, but if you can pull it off, there will be tons and tons of followers and benefits coming along.
P.S. I've been here since 2016 have seen all the TH-camrs come and go. This 3 segments even if they're not present in every episode will be explosive, I promise you!

Hi Guy I think a very important subject to speak about and having an ongoing conversation through multiple videos, is guiding your subscribers on an exit strategy towards the end of this bull run. I think a mistake that many people make including myself is, leaving money on the table. In these ongoing videos presenting historical evidence from previous bill runs and comparing it to this bull run will help your subscribers get a sense of a near top exit. Hey Guy! What happens to stablecoins if -say- there would be hyperinflation? Usdc, dai, tether? Will they loose their value?
My video format suggestion: *Practical Crypto*. A serie of video talking about some usefull blockchain usecases. Explaining the technical aspect of a project/dapps. Benefith and disadvantages. And finaly a setup tutorial of the project. For example you can do video about Orchid (OXT) vpn and another about Sia (SC) + Skynet storage solution (with pratical test for sure). I'd think many people get involve with crypto because of the underlying philosophy. To get rid of centralize bank, centralize big tech company ... And actually the crypto universe in a big financial market without any philosophical aspect :(

Another video I would like to see to get some advice on is...what kind of cold/hardware wallet gives me the highest level of privacy in term that no one ever can find out how much do I own or how much I am sending. I would be really curious how to achieve this. I am pretty concerned about privacy when it comes to my cryptos in general. I heard for example that when using the Ledger Live my data on how much I own or how much I am sending is not necessarily private and could leak out to 3rd parties. Would be nice to get some advice on how to achieve this. You could include also which crypto currencies should I use if privacy is my top priority. So in recap - how to store my crypto in a way that is super secure and super private and as well how to make transactions in a way that is super private and in general how to achieve the highest level of privacy when using my cryptos in general... one suggestion that comes from my experience.
reviewing a faucet or making a walkthrough for airdropping may be the safest and quickest way for someone to learn about crypto.getting some bits and bytes of a token and get to know it and make transaction is the best way to learn. that was for me too. I ended up educating myself through TH-cam then articles then whitepapers and early access. goodluck to your chanel.

4) Eventually also a vid about IPO in the crypto market (i heard more and more companies are going IPO)- are you following this?
5) IPO vs ICO - i saw companies which are backed by VC as shareholder and then they additionally do an ICO? why that? both brings funding for growth. Why would one do an Equity round when you can just distribute coins and you keep the shares for themselve. by the way what revenue model have all those projects actually? the Tokens are just the fuel for the transactions but how do they earn money?
6) 5G impact on IOT and therefore Blockchain? will it give a boost?`what impact, if any, will it have on what project

hey guy, how about a video for traders like us who have came over from stock and FX trading worlds, what they've learned there, how they transitioned into crypto, lessons learned in both fundamentals and TA, market sentiment, psychology, asset and portfolio management. mostly how to take the best of both worlds, how take those trading strategies into the future BUT also realizing that maybe not EVERYTHING needs to be decentralized, like when to deploy cash or hedge back into stable coins, having multiple trading accounts, wallets; hot and cold, and lastly continuing to trade equities, fixed markets and maybe futures (literally everything from bonds to metals) outside of bitcoin, and having a truly futuristic and diversified portfolio going into the next decade!!
Id like to see a video on Mental Analysis of a trader. What are some mental characteristics a professional trader should acquire? What is the professional traderds mindset. How to stay in the zone and not let emotions overcome our trading ???

I thing you have covered and explained almost important topics regarding cryptocurrency, like for example the latest, leveraging, yield farming and some tokens. You have thoroughly explained in your videos what exactly the meaning and how things work out of a certain topic. But for few of us who are not native english speakers i suggest that if you can simplify more of your explanation that would be much appreciated.
Sugestion: An overview of the most important cases of exchanges hacks, running away with cryptos, scams, etc (Mt GOX, Cryptsy, BTC-e, Quadriga, etc). Just to remind people that if you don't control the private key you don't own your cryptos. It could be a good heads up for the community since we're entering a new bull run and many new people might enter the markets without taking the necessary precautions.

I like to know how much correlation there is between crypto currency and the Stock Market. And also between the real economy and at leas the main coins. I don't see that many real world applications in many of them.
