    This is one of my favorite 18th century games. Also thank you so much for plugging our wooden dice, we really appreciate it.

    I love the increasing push-your-luck tension of each dice throw. Do you keep rolling the dice, or do you stop? Yes, you keep rolling the dice. This game should be called "Don't Stop. Ever"

      That's a good call. It's mostly a lot of luck with making sure to "shut" the right numbers, but going head on against someone makes it lot of fun.

      @@Play-In-Games If there's not one already, this specific concept could make a great roll-n-write game where instead of flipping tiles, you just mark off numbers. All roll-n-writes do this, obviously, but I like the utter simplicity of this game. You could probably bring in a bit of Phase 10 by having a variety of challenges to take on.

    Just a little tip, I was thinking about the domino tile, but I found a better option, the Rummikub tiles !!
    There are going from 1 to 13 so it's perfect !
    And I agree with you, the feeling of tiles are a bit nicer than cards (though I love playing poker with cards and chips).
    Just my 2 cents idea ! Thanks again for sharing this game which seems nice !

    My dad first played this in the late 60s-early 70s in the Navy
    He made a box to play a few years back and it’s a fun game for those that have yet to try it

    some considerations:
    1- Just use J and Q instead of Skip-Bo cards
    2- Generally it’s better to still roll two die instead of only 1. Exceptions in the duos: 5/1 4/1 3/1 2/1 4/2 3/2 or based in opponent’s score (if you got 5/1 or 6/1 and opponent’s scored 4 try with two dice).
    So general rule is that if opponent’s score is equal or lower then your highest tile (having two tiles) try with two dice. Exception: if you have 3/1 or 2/1 only roll both dice if opponent had scored 0.
    video examples:
    3:30 with the red cards it’s better to roll both die. the odds of being eliminated is also 50% as like rolling one die. but there are some chances of eliminating both 6 and 1 or even all 3 at once with a 12 when rolling both die, while rolling one you can only take one out. statistically you will end up with higher results rolling one die in this situation (any result lower then 5 is bad for you).
    4:40 with black cards it’s also a bad decision to roll with one die because there is a 1/6 chance of rolling a 1 and losing with 20 points!! while with two dice you couldn’t lose so quickly
    the following situations it’s also disadvantageous to roll a single die.
    The roll he lost was 18/36 chance to lose while with two die it would’ve be 15/36 with also the chance of getting two or three numbers at once.

    Another low cost solution is to write the numbers 1 to 9 on squares of paper or card.

    In the dice game shut the box, if my first throw is double 6, can I flip the numbers 1,2,3 and 6

    • @Play-In-Games
      @Play-In-Games  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sure that would work, but you may want to knock out higher numbers first so you don’t get stuck with them later.

    Is it really just to 45, or do the other players also finish that round also?

    • @Play-In-Games
      @Play-In-Games  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Once the goal is met the game ends, unless the pubs house rules say otherwise!

      @@Play-In-Games thanks! The people who played last night thought this rule makes it so that the person who goes first always loses.
