Thanks Chris, this Tarot series has led me down a new rabbit whole lol. Just picked up the Sicilian Tarot deck and added it to my Italian card collection. Hope you do a video on that deck soon. Since it's just my wife and I, I think we're gonna just play Briscola with that deck until our sons get older and can play 4 player Tarot games. My wife is also Sicilian American and we play a lot of scopa/Napolitana and Briscola. We were just down in Sicily recently visiting family. Do you know the game Piattu? My wife's family always plays that around Christmas and new years. It's a fun party and gambling game using a Sicilian deck. I've learned so much from your channel, please keep up the content.

I'd be okay with this just becoming a tarot channel, this is super interesting!

My Dad told me today he played Briscola (Briškula in Slovenian) with my Nonna in the early 1950s. He also played with Mirco, who ran the bar (also called Mirco’s?) on Piazzale Giarrizole in Trieste. The rule was whoever lost bought a drink for the other one. I just leaned this today-my Dad is 95!-and he met and married my Mom in Trieste in 1949. Dad was American Trieste TRUST army, and Mama was a Triestina. I’ve ordered a set of cards to learn to play it myself. Apparently they played the straight version of Briscola-my Nonno’s family came from Slovenia so they probably played in both sides of the family! 💙 Thanks for sharing these cards!

We called it coin Rugby. When a try was scored or touch down, you had to flick and and and catch the coin to score. Then spin and catch thr coin with thumbs and flick thru the post. 😅 good times from New Zealand

Is there a limit to the amount of cards that can be placed/played/stay active in the stable? An example could be that you have 5 unicorns in your stable, 2 downgrade cards from other players, and 1 upgrade card of your own. Is there a limit where you are not allowed to use any of the cards in your hand?

Very cool deck, i just bought one. I’m always looking for new ways to study the massive web of symbolism in the tarot and their connections to eachother and within the individual cards. So, this seems like the perfect deck for me! Love the artwork and how cohesive the deck is. Also, you can’t beat a deck that can be used to play games when I get tired of studying them lol

You can shuffle a hanafuda deck with the Hindu shuffle. It's not easy to do, but It's possible. i recommend dividing it in two decks first, then shuffling each deck separately and just putting one on top of the other. Great video, mate
