Nanowar of Steel are a parody metal band from Rome/Italy. They have been around for 20 years and have many great and funny videos out on yt. They are funny and never repetetive. You could watch Valhalleluja (featuring Angus McFive formerly from Gloryhammer), Disco Metal, Pasadena 1994 (featuring Joakim Brodén from Sabaton), Uranus (featuring Michael Starr of Steel Panther) or Barbie, Milf Princess... (featuring Fabio Lione). Have fun with that huge rabbit hole. :D
BTW I have seen them play live on a norwegian cruise ship in Oslo two years ago and some weeks ago they played on the 70 000 Tons of Metal cruise that went to Miami and (voilá!) Santo Domingo (I think). So you were somehow right about the cruises. >
I’m really impressed! There seems to be a lot of comedy metal out there these days but these guys killed it with the Caribbean Island / Latin Music vibe. It’s one thing to do metal but to throw in multiple genres to do a song justice was outstanding!!! And now I know they aren’t Norwegian or Island folk!!! 🤘😊
You mentioned their Spanish being fantastic. That's because the Spanish part is being sang by Charly Glamour (the featuring artist), who does vocals for the Spanish metal band Gigatron.
They are an italian band. In the beginning you see the girls and you can hear the sound of the seal. The songs says "a mirar la foca". In italian and spanish language "foca" is "seal". In italian language "pussy" has different names, one of these is "fica". "Fica" and "foca"
Hahaha! Good! So you can try to listen the band "Bardomagno". They sing a medieval italian and they are funny like Nanowar. Nanowar's guitar player is the Bardomagno's singer. But both the bands have lyrics that only a person that speak italian and has a life experience in Italy can understand completely. Try "Bardomagno - Cerveza y latifondo". Its another "reggaeton" song@@ReactionsThatRock
Couldn't tell if you recognized Varg's picture that they were burning as the Metal musician who was burning Churches in Norway? All NanowaR of Steel songs are filled with multi level references. This is a huge rabbithole with lots of killer guitar solos.❤ I love Uranus, Valhalleluja, Disco Metal, Pasedina 1994, Tooth Fairy, Winterstorm, Boomer Battaleon, Barbie etc. Etc.....😏. Great enthusiastic reaction👍 🥰🥰Best wishes from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦
I did not catch that! I’ll be watching again! I’m honestly amazed at how good this was and the only real hint that it was comedy/metal was the video. If I’d just heard this on the radio with no context at all, I’d have never figured out it was intended for comedy and to me, that makes for a PERFECT comedy band. Some are almost too cheesy with childish themes and lyrics. These guys seem smarter with the humor and I really appreciate that!
I love the morning Norwegian wood line, so juvenile but it gets me every time. You need to check out Valhalleluja next. I suggest that you don't do any research on the song beforehand. Just go in cold, you'll thank me later. It's a great song and hilarious!
Thank you. I can be quite juvenile at times. Some people here would be surprised to know that my real job these days requires a high level of professionalism. 🤣😂 Valhalleluja is on the list! Can’t help but wonder if there’s a Jesus & Viking theme coming my way or what!!!?!!!
To answer some of your questions, they're Italian and technically considered a metal band. They're also funny as hell, pretty damn talented as musicians, and completely out of their minds....which just adds to the entertainment value. They really don't have any bad songs, so whatever you do next will almost assuredly amuse you. To give you more questions, I'll just leave some song titles of theirs as suggestions with absolutely no context: "Vegan Velociraptor", "Barbie MILF Princess Of The Twilight", "Valhalleluja", and of course "Uranus".
Much appreciated! Honestly, I had expected comedy metal based on the videos that they were recommended on but I never expected comedy metal with a serious island vibe from Italians! I thought I was getting fake Vikings, honestly! Loved it!!!
They are the masters of parody metal! Can't go wrong with Nanowar of Steel. Originally they were named just Nanowar (obviously referring to Manowar) but when the Italian symphonic power metal band Rhapsody changed their name to Rhapsody of Fire (due to trademark issues) in 2006, they added the 'of Steel' to their name. For more fun cruising/ sailing the seven seas of metal music: Alestorm (Scottish pirate metal): Drink Feuerschwanz (German medieval metal): Dragostea Din Tei The latter one is a cover of the infamously annoying 2004 summer dance hit by the Moldovan boy group O-Zone. Feuerschwanz' singers learned the (Romanian) lyrics phonetically. They have an official music video and also one from the 70000 Tons of Metal 2023 cruise (studio version put on live performance & behind the scenes footage).
I appreciate the band info! Love the reason for the name change too! Good funny stuff! I’ll be sure to check out those recommendations too! Alestorm sounds incredible!
If you do Feuershwantz make sure you also check their amazing collab cover of Manowar's Warriors of the World United, featuring the singer of Ad zinfinitum Melisa Bonie the singer of Saltatio Mortis Alea and the ex singer of Gloryhammer Tom Winkler (known as Angus McFife in Gloryhammer and now known by his new band project Angus McSix). Normaly they sing in German but they had a bonus disc in couple albums where they performed covers and each band member chooses 1 song to cover.
Nanowar of Steel is one of the most fun bands I have found in reactions. Many have mentioned fun songs by them. I'd start with Barbie MILF Princess of the Twilight. Since you mention drinking , let me suggest another band that is just as fun. Alestorm is a Scottish pirate metal band that does similar types of music. Listen to their songs Drink, F**ked with an Anchor, and P.A.R.T.Y. They are all awesome!
Do they have their own style? Not really - they are really good musicians (and it isn't their day job - they have careers like being academic astronomers, and computer programmers etc.) They have songs that use / mimic the style of someone with inventive lyrics that are funny and do really inventive videos. I discovered an Italian folk metal band called Folkstone from folk metal pastiche about making polenta in Northern Italy and La Polenta Taragnarock is hilarious (scientifically accurate) and good to dance to. I call them my nerdcore band as they have a whole range of surprises in their lyrics (it helps I know Italian and German) including on first hearing their Disco Metal - I stopped their video and grabbed my bilingual copy of Dante's Inferno to check a reference their stuff is that nerdy LOL
Would you react to BABYMETAL? I would suggest starting with recent live performances of their songs Road of Resistance, Monochrome, and Megitsune from their PIA Arena 2023 concerts. They are actually out of Italy. As their webpage says "We take comedy seriously!"
Solid tagline!!! I’ve got a feeling I’m just getting started!

This music just had a metal cruise vibe! I spent 27 years in Florida. I know cruises! 🤪🤘

don't forget La Polenta Taragnarock featuring a famous Italian chef.
You mentioned their Spanish being fantastic. That's because the Spanish part is being sang by Charly Glamour (the featuring artist), who does vocals for the Spanish metal band Gigatron.
While I guess that helps tremendously!!! 🤣🤘😂
Welcome to the NANOWAR RABBIT HOLE ... you will love it, trust me 😀 and like @joebar72 said : listen to VALHALELUJA next 👍
That name alone: VALHALELUJA. These guys get it, I think!!!
Norwegian Wood was also a Norwegian annual rock festival. They took the name from the same song you referenced.
Ooh. I didn’t know it was a rock festival. Great name for it!!!
listen "Vallhaleluja" or "Barbie milf princess of the twilight"..or "Uranus"..
All 3 added to my list!!! Thanks! 🤪✌️

I've got 'em on my short list but wasn't sure what song I should fire up! I'll be sure to get at least one of these going soon.
Have you ever listened to Skindred?
Back in my radio days I must have played “Nobody Gets Out Alive” at least a million times but it’s honestly the only song of theirs I know!
@@ReactionsThatRock check out..rat race sometime. The album that Nobody is on, is full of great songs.
@@cuttyr74 I’ll be sure to do that!!! Thanks!!!
@@ReactionsThatRock I have to clarify that rat race is not on the album that Nobody is on.
