Really useful and helped me fit mine. I have a couple of additional tips for refitting the plastic trim: If you loosen, but not remove the screws on the front trim where the 'teeth' of the side trim go into and then apply a little grease to the teeth, it pops in a treat. Then retighten the screws. I would also clean the trim before cutting and refitting as it will help locate the areas to be cut out and help with any clearance or refitting. Excellent instruction video! Perhaps you should consider fitting in one step: before re-fitting the plastic sills, one should check that the side steps slide nicely over the holders. The leeway of the holders is more than the side steps are able to accommodate.
Another nugget from my experience is often the bolt holes are rusted up and need quite and bit of time with a screwing and loosening a bolt with some wd40 to loosen up the hole. I made the mistake of whacking in a bolt with a impact wrench and it sheared the bolt off inside the hole as the friction was so high. For all the rest I took the time to ensure each hole was nice and loose and lubed up.
Yes i know and i can only apologise....i think my trusty camera man Tom counted 72 in one video .. and was kind enough to point it out to me ! A career narrating car videos was not my chosen choice career path ! One solution is to turn the sound down !
I know this video is some 10 years old I wanted to fit side steps took the sil off and all I’ve is rust the bottom part is rotten rusty So could you please advise what to do thanks
