      It doesn't always work. They will replace your watermark with theirs or sometimes not even bother because no one really reads the watermarks. I've been that victim. I was selling something on Etsy that became really popular. Someone decided to clone my stuff. One group decided to sell a crap quality of my wares. Another group was scamming customers and taking their money. But they kept hitting me with copyright strikes. So my stuff gets taken down for 3 days at a time while they profit and I have to wait for the copyright strike to be removed from sending disputes. I had backup listings that I used but it's not good for the customer because they think they're getting scammed because the original listing they bought it from is gone. But these idiots lifted my pics and used them for their listings.

    True story I'm unfortunately a victim of this scam but in a far grosser context....When I was a teenager I was trying to sell my prom dress, and put up the listing on Craigslist. I received a text from someone interested but they wanted to verify that the dress would fit them so they asked for more photos, and spefically photos of me to ensure we were "similar sizes" unfortunately I'm extremely petite and I struggle with finding clothes that fit me so I releated to the scammer.
    Then "she" proceeded to send me photos of bras and herself in a bra(I can only assume these are photos of victims) and wanted me to do the same, then it got gross real quick and "she" wanted photos of me braless to better ensure we had the same breast size, and then finally said "you can't tell me you've never send nudes before". Obviously this person was a disgusting individual trying to scam young girls into sending inappropriate images to them. I blocked the number.
    I also never list anything on Craigslist anymore lol.. Hopfully this comment raises awareness about this kind of scam. There's some really disgusting folks out there man, be careful.

      That is absolutely disgusting. Tbh, I dont think any girl would purchase a used dress online due to suspicion of scams. But idk, im a guy so I cant rlly tell. I never thought scammers would get to the point where they'd be deliberately asking for nudes. Like, it is horrible. I hope you're alright, it's best if you don't ever send photos of yourself holding/wearing something.

    • @awkwardpotato2793
      @awkwardpotato2793 2 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      @@J_Lynn one of the reasons I think it's more scam in its nature, is because once I interacted with this one, I kept getting texts from other numbers asking the same thing- photos of me in the dress and I knew it would escalate so I kept blocking them. Typically scams work like that, once you interact with one, your number is spread to others. But maybe predators do something similar and share the number with other predators? I dunno. Either way its definitely concerning. I'm doing okay though! This happened years ago and all I can say is it could've been worse.

    Great video but disappointed that you are promoting a scam sponsor. It is just some Hong Kong based Chinese investors printing worthless certificates. They aren't planting trees. There is no mention of your name on the Land Registry, so even if owning land would get you a title, you don't actually ever own land. They are probably mapping the coordinates of random forests in the Highlands. In the UK, some land/property can come with titles, but as you can imagine they are rare, inherited properties only and titles knock up the price of the property. Usually the titles can only be passed down blood relatives and cease if there is a break for whatever reason.
    I am staying subscribed - but I am surprised this sponsor got through your due diligence.

Scammers from GB are constantly checking items there and tried to scam me with fake bank accounts, fake transactions and fake emails. They always want to pay the full price instantly instead of trying to get a better offer. Quite funny, but annoying. 😋
    If they ask you "will you ship the item, if I send you the money", then you have to answer "yes, as soon as the money arrives at my bank account", because they will use a fake bank account (instead of sending you the money directly, which they never mention before) and tell you that they sent you the money but that this (fake) bank is withholding the money and will send it to your bank AFTER you have sent your item and confirmed it with a tracking number. Classic! 😂

      Cashier check scams are common. People think that those checks are always good but they are not. As a computer tech i get in response to ads "hi i have 10 hp laptops that need windows 10 installed and anti virus. Can you take the work? I pay 800 +200 for ship...." They send you a check for 1000. You cash it the bank gives you 1 grand you send the extra to their shipping partner aka them the check bounces you are stuck paying for the bounced check.
      To us computer shop owners these checks are like most mom and pop shops first buck they frame. We "fall for the scam" every time and see who can collect the most in a year lmao.
      Actually the real reason we respond is the scammers say they also own a computer shop and need some b2b work done or some will go old school and say farm work done. Farm work is a old term that basically means i or they got to many jobs and can not handle the load so we farm it out to another trusted shop.
      You pretty much have to respond because well you do not want to pass up on 10 laptops to do a basic windows install on that you charge 50 bucks for per unit. So you respond and when it turns out to be a scam you play along and get a fake check to put on your wall and some times you even get to shut down a mule. And rarely you have a guy who brings you 10 laptops over to do a windows install on them and make a extra 500 bucks for the week because he got hammered with calls. I get 1 or 2 of those each year from 20 to 50 of these calls emails etc like this.

      There were Posters who said their Banks automatically allow withdrawals from checks as soon as the Checks are deposited and don't verify that the Checks are legitimate before allowing the funds to be withdrawn. Someone responded something like,"Your Banks allow automatic withdrawals from checks before verifying the checks are legitimate? Your banks are far more trusting than my Bank is. In my Bank, no money is allowed to be withdrawn from check until Check is verified to be legitimate. The check funds are just seen as ,"Pending," for about 10 days until it clears and the hold is removed.

And even if it were the "lordship" would mean absolutely nothing. And they emphasize the land and lordship thing pretty hard and barely mention the tree planting, so that's secondary. You're better off just printing your own certificate and donating the money to an actual charity. took me only 15 minutes of research that shows that established titles is a scam, you aren't actually buying land, you are buying rights to it but you definitely do not own it, you should probably look more into the companies that give you sponsors so you don't end up promoting scams by accident yourself. Unless of course you already knew. Legally you do not own the land nor does paying the rights for one via established titles actually grant you a title, its pure novelty.

    The increased sophistication you have seen over the years is the exact same issue we have in the credit card industry in trying to prevent fraud. We analyze trends, deploy strategies, fraud is reduced, scammers start to realize they aren't stealing as much, scammers develop new tactics to try to circumvent our strategies, fraud increases, we analyze the new trends and around we go. What has changed for us recently is the rate at which scammers are able to change their tactics. In years past a fraud trend may be in effect for years but now it could be as short as a month.
