Actually this occurs because of a data overload. It's an exploit in the game that makes the robots' attacks nullified. Check out @ 54:40 It will explain everything. You simply make Jack (Soya) throw knives at you intentionally. Once there is 5 knives on the ground, you're good to go. These knives will then remain there for the fight against the robots and it will somehow make the robots' attacks useless. No effect at all. So this is nothing to do with strategical positioning of a player.
If talking about top difficulties - it may be technically possible in sor1 and sor3, but practically it's really not worth it and it won't be a good challenge in these games. Even if you play super-duper good, there are still moments when things just linep up badly or some weird random glitch happened and you'll get damaged. So initially, playing these game with no damage whatsoever throughout the whole run is just not gonna happen.
@devonteread329 I watch stuff like this all the time also and do some myself. As he said though, it's likely possible in sor 1 and 3 simply because of the freedom and control over your characters,and the mobility. Sor2 however restricts that control in a massive way in comparison to the others. In combination it also is the only one that has Mania out of the three and the randomness of the enemies at some points are too uncontrollable to guarantee not having to use a special at some point, which will ultimately take health. Sor3 gives you the ability to use specials without losing health.
amazing run dude, congratulations for this, I have a question do you think was intended that great upper causes less damage when used in a combo compared when you hit an enemy only with that move? I find annoying that but not sure if creators wanted this way or is just a programing error
What is the correct setup for preventing jet #2 from spawning in the area 6 elevator? Should I keep my back as close to the wall as possible, or is there a specific pixel height on the floor where I need to stand, or both?
Amazing! I'm curious as to how you were able to only fight Jet. Every time I try to do it multiple bosses spawn, and I've watched you and one other player do it. I should make note that I'm playing on an emulated version of the game so I don't know if that matters or not. Any expertise you have is greatly appreciated.

Wow man!! You really are a pro! I watched mainly the boss fights from stages 1 to 6 and elevators in stages 7/8, your skills are amazing. So far the Anthopants mania no-death was the toughest challenge I've seen, but now the no-food items playthrough is the only one that surpassed this limit. Great job! The only tip I can give is about the Shiva fight. This is not an easy trick but once you get the correct time it's one of the safests, sometimes better than jumping. The Mania mode is the WORST difficulty OF ALL i've played. Just play the hard mode or something.
