I had this dance cassette live from JA when my bredda reach back to UK, every night I played this .....bad dance.....yes Sugar.....all kinda a people come dance!!!!
This live album was and is, a part of my DNA. I lived on campus at the time in Clarendon while my brothers migrated to new York. I wanted to send them a gift when my mother visited and all I could think of was that live album! I purchased it and sent it to them and never got any feedback from them so I thought nothing of it until a year later when I started living in the states, this was one of the first records I would end up playing in my mother's living room on her stereo system. My brothers loved the album!
Lord---this visitor to the island made that set in '83, right at the Craib's family spot Fish Whirl. By then Josey really had the momentum going on in JA as THE DJ to watch. All was in place that night---only thing missing was U Roy, who I did not see in attendance, but between the talent line-up (Sugar, Don Carlos) and this being during the reign of Rub-A-Dub, it was a perfection of a session. I recall Leroy Smart turning up with a German punk-rock-ish guy in tow, but only as an observer. The only scare that evening(& not much of one) was looking to my left in the men's room and seeing a JA soldier in full battle gear & strapped to the max. When he saw me draw back he kept taking a piss and said 'no worries'...and yeah, the gateman was a good 300 lbs, effective at who got in----sweet memories, and the Outlw Josey Wales RULED.
Josey voice and style is so sweet ,refreshing and magnetic The Colonel in one of his best performance ever At that time he was the hottest dj in Jamaica. ...from Junior Wales,a high school principal and dj. A Josey Wales protege. .
Had this on cassette for many years until someone must of thieves it but never knew it was recorded off the vinyl, I’m pretty sure it was a 60 minute cassette so my question is , where’s the rest of it
i am trying to find the other side of this live album the other side featuring mr spaulding, ricky tuffy and i my self at the time i was call amagiddeon sang a track called gwan to dance on the other side of this same album if any one out there known of it give me a feed plsase sound call king a tarus bless
I remember that live album. I purchased it from VP records on Jamaica Avenue in the early eighties, around 84 I think. Try searching through their archives and see if they can help.
I am looking for Live At Skateland album, with-Killamanjaro Sound System featuring Don Carlos, Sugar Minott, Josey Wales, I think U-Roy & more. I may be getting 2 records mixed up, but the record I am looking for has a white cover with a primitive child like drawing in green ink pen. a very old record I been searching for many years to try to find. any ideas? I would appreciate ANY & ALL HELP I can get to try to find this record, I used to have it but it was stolen from me decades ago, & I would LOVE to buy another copy...thank you!
Dear Al Meard, in you opinion, I am wrong, I would fight for your right to have an opinion. I just sensed a small amount of insecurity in your marginal hostility. What is the best live dance you have in mind?
Wicked, Wicked, Wicked and Wicked again>>>>>use to listen to this over and over as a youth>>>>thanks for the upload.
