    Looks like a versatile little amp, and includes an FX loop which is nice.
    Great playing as always.

    Bryan I have 3 PRS guitars. I look forward to all of your demos. Your style as a player and your diversity of touch and attack. I started playing in 1954. So I have been at it for a long time but I enjoy excellent players and you are at the top of that chain of excellence. Ed

    Nice amp, but for once I would like to hear someone play a clean amp with simple chords, open and barred to hear how it sounds for rhythm. Every video I haven seen of this amp is riffs and picking and players showing off their chops. Also I am wondering if the older models sound the same as the new black face ones, as there are used ones around for less than half the price of new ones. I will check some out.

      At one time the Sonzera was available in 50, 30 or 20 watt with different power tubes. I am not sure if the 50 & 30 watt versions are still in production. These are made overseas-I believe either Indonesia or Vietnam?

    I have the original sonzera 20 combo amp. The original tubes were only issues I have ever had with it. To get the best of this amp you need the best tubes. The military grade black taped Mesa boogie tubes solved all of the noise issues. Haven't really messed with the power tube options still using the 6l6

      Hi Duane, I want to buy the original, but I have some questions. I've read that you have to turn up the volume too much to get a good dirt out of it. It's true? So, is the noise problem solved by changing the valves? Greetings!

    Hey PRS I have the previous version of Sonzera 20w and I love it and use it daily and for my band very versatile amp great tones but I’ve done a lot to it go fix a buzzing rattling and it will not go away. I’ve replaced every tube, had a it looked at and worked on by an amp builder (Devil cat amps) and replaced the speaker and it still rattles in a glassy buzzy way I’ve literally tried everything and thrown more money than I ever wanted to at the amp. It is a great sounding amp no doubt but has given me much headache.

    • @markovukcevicch
      @markovukcevicch ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you maybe have some sound samples of that buzzing noice? I'm asking cause I also have sonzera 20 for more than two years now. I just play at my appartment, but as soon as I bough it it had some hiss, noise on clean chan. that would come up and go away .. tnx :)

    • @nicfabrizio1776
      @nicfabrizio1776 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it’s got a little hiss/feed back noise on clean channel but the rattle is more of a glassy noise and I have brand new tubes in it so.. idk very odd

    • @richardshank9583
      @richardshank9583 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nicfabrizio1776 all tubes rattle somewhat. Some more than others. Unfortunately some amps for whatever reason will bring out rattle in a tube even in one that has very little. My ss60 was like this 5 or 6 different sets of tube. At higher volumes they all rattled. Some amps just bring it out of tubes for some reason.

    • @HandWiredAmps
      @HandWiredAmps ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The speaker baffle is floating at the top and bottom. At the top it can make noise vibrating against the metal chassis, you may be able to loosen the chassis (4 screws) and re-tighten the chassis away from the baffle. Baffle should be braced at the bottom like it is on the sides. The name plate on the front is prone to buzz/rattle. The grill cloth does buzz against the grill frame. I ended up removing my grill cloth, it may not be as pretty, but it's not making any noise! Another point of buzz in the chassis is inside on the PCB there are 3 little black plastic pieces on the bias test jacks, glue them down. Glassy is most always a monophonic tube. Try driving a separate cab and see if it's still there.

    The sonzera 20 is great, I love mine, had it for a couple years already.
    But do notice that this amp is WAY louder than the advertised 20W.
    The clean channel is sublime at any volume. The gain channel however needs to "breath" to sound it's best and is way louder than the clean channel.
    For jamming/gigging small venue with a band it's perfect, for home use I would recommend an attenuator or your neighbours will hate you.
    I use mine at home with a cheap harley benton attenuator and happy days.

      They make guitars too. Just makes sense for them to use their own guitars. For example back in the day fender made amps that would pair perfectly with their guitars. Leo loved clean sounds not distortion. So obviously fender single coils don't push an amp as hard as a gibson. They were built around their amps and vice versa. Same thing with gibson. I've heard fender guitars their gibson amps and they typically are very bright. Obviously cause they were built for humbucker based guitars with short scale lengths and mahogany. A recipe for darker guitars. Hence the amps were brighter to compliment this where as with fender they're darker cause fenders are brighter. Also the reason why gibsons make fenders sound flubby when cranked cause they weren't designed for the output and low end of a gibson. Likewise for prs. Their amps are likely designed to accentuate and compliment their guitars and their pickups. Just makes sense.
