Aww man, it means the world to me. Thank you! I really enjoyed playing with Paul, he has an awesome way of inspiring to play better. Such passion. It was an honor having him in the studio. Cheers //Kris
Wow massive accomplishment to get the main man on your channel. Must feel pretty awesome. Great interview by the way. Love PRS guitars amazing instruments.
Thanks man, yeah it was amazing. I only met Paul once at the Namm show many years ago and that was loud and hectic. Haha! This time it was more relaxed and I had a fantastic time talking to him. Thanks for watching! //Kris
@@UpliftingRiffs Hi ! Subscriber of your channel. I spoke to Paul on the phone. I was having an issue of a 594 10 top I purchased. Same problem 3x. The dealer I purchased it from called him and long story less long I ended up on the phone with him for 25min. It was 20 minutes too long ( in that scenario). He's, well, let's say different. I guess to do what he did, you'd have to be. Bit strange and I found he is very fond of himself. Anything he said that he laughed at, I didn't find anything to laugh about. And I didn't. Lol
Kris - it's a pleasure watching you being with one of your idols. It feels natural and passionate. Both of you share a passion for the instrument and music. That narrates to a wholesome atmosphere of two people talking about what they love. I appreciated the interview!
Thanks so much Luis! So glad to hear that the great vibes in the studio room came across the recording. It was an honour having Paul there. Cheers //Kris
Hmmmmm, those pedals have totally tasty sounds! And hear Mr Paul Reed Smith playing a PRS guitar through PRS pedals in a PRS amp, whaow, it makes me think that there's never enough PRS :P Edit: ty vm Thomann and Master Paul Reed Smith for this cool moment
What a legend Paul is, for his age, he's outstanding in his playing and his sense of humor. Long live PRS... Huge Respect!!! Thanks Thomann and Kris for this.
Best guitars made today hands down. I had the Se it was good, but I got the core….and man it was so so smooth. Paul is a absolute genius. Really took guitar from its 50,s roots to modern playability. It’s Prs fender then Gibson
I love watching Paul's interviews in general, but this one is the best by far! Great questions and beautiful guitar playing by Kris. Such passion and humility by Paul "the guitar I play is called Paul's guitar, that's worse". My first PRS guitar is an SE Paul's, purchased online, beautiful looking, feeling and sounding guitar, followed by an SE HB II and hopefully more to come in the future 😊
Pickups on the PRS SE Custom 24 (85/15 “S”) sound great. I am watching JJ's One Girl Band livestreams, when she picks up the PRS, you know she is playing PRS. Very high output, and nice lead/rhythm equally sounding pickups.
Hi Detlef, it was great having you guys here! Thanks for coming and thanks for the kind words! Glad to hear that Paul also had a good time. I certainly enjoyed this a lot. Take care //Kris
Lololool 😄 also ich hatte spaß.
"pedals that stay on your board". I did chuckle that over his shoulder was a wall of unused pedals. 🤣 I've seen him spiky and combative in other interviews, but he seemed at ease with you. Congrats on a good interview and shared passion.
A BIG Thank you Paul - to you and your Team. Thanks for saving my Life by making this great Guitars. Only if I see them - my Heart is beating faster. All that´s in the Way for me is the Money, sadly. But I have a Dream.....- and every Day I am dreaming of my PRS.
Thanks so much Pedro! That's a PRS Hollowbody II Private Stock. Tiger wood body, full maple neck, 2 humbuckers and a piezo pickup. And someone bought it right after seeing Paul playing it here. 😄 I can fully understand that, what a wonderful guitar. Thanks for watching! //Kris
Ohh, we will! They probably sound very different since Hendrix's plexi was very far from being stock. And the HDRX amps pay tribute to that specific modded amp. We will do that comparison as soon as it's in stock. //Kris
May I ask everyone what genre they were specifically playing at the beginning and if anyone can suggest me artists/songs with the same style and vibes? Please It would be amazing to could listen to more 🙏
Ive played every name brand of guitars... PRS in my personal opinion feels the best in my hands, they play the best, they look the best and sounds the best and i dont even own 1... i never have bc ive never had 3500 to 5000 bucks to pay at 1 time. There always something else that takes the money.. car.. bills. ect ect.. hopefully befor i die ill have 1.. that and a taylor grand n im done! His amps are very very impressive also. Some day ill buy a custon 22 or 24 double cut away with the old set bridge burgundy wine red with a maple neck with the classic bird inlays! Thats my Ferrari of guitars.. the best of the best.. ive never ever picked a PRS off the wall and something minor was wrong ever! Every single 1 ive ever touched had the best setups and played so dam easily its insane. They really are truly the best of the best in my exsperience and my personal opinion of over 45 years messing with guitars! N no im not being paid or given anything what so ever saying this about PRS guitars. Their quality control department must be the best in the world.. and i absolutely love seeing works art thats sold and its flawless every time i grab 1 off the wall at the music shops! Im not b.s. ya... i barley had to touch the strings to fret a cord with the minimum finger pressure and the notes there ringing loud n clear... never a single fret buzz either. Just flawless beautiful works of playable art!

Curious to me why Paul himself has been making the rounds for everything. I don’t really care what he uses or whether these were ‘designed to stay on your board’ - as though others aren’t? Perhaps I’m in the minority but he always rubs me the wrong way.
I know exactly what you mean but I have some insight I think. I come off the same way as him and I'm aware of it. I'm a little bit of an introvert, not shy but there's a touch of nervousness that comes with it and when I get really excited and enthusiastic about something I'm in my own mindset of just happy friendliness and I say things that I know for a fact have absolutely no ill intent but if you're not totally committed to the idea that I mean nothing by it, it comes off as a little too direct, egotistical or sarcastic. It's "on me" to work on this so I try to explain myself better. Honestly, it's probably a touch of what people call "on the spectrum" but I don't think I am. But I think PRS is just in that same mindset of "we're all friends here so it's safe to speak your mind" and he misspeaks at times without explaining that there's no hidden meaning behind his banter.
I bought a prs se custom for 1300 plus and I wasted my money it doesn't sound that good and it doesn't stay in tune so I got to buy new tunners and pick ups and I really don't like the neck it hold a Note very long so I need a new nut I bought a Gibson Les Paul a couple of years ago for 1000 and It's plays and sounds way better
Another take on Hendrix's tone, now an amp with PRS... Poor Jimi is being exploited so much, and he's not even here anymore to defend himself from those shameless endorsements. OK so: they opened Jimi's original Woodstock amp and cloned it. Lucky they didn't open his grave to ask him for tweaks. Our heroes are dead man: Jimi Hendrix, SRV, Jim Marshall, Leo Fender, Les Paul and what have you. Manufacturers should leave them rest in peace and not speak or act in their name. Makes me feel sad. Hendrix was such a hero for me in my teens. If you want Jimi's tone, practice a lot. It's in your fingers, not in gear. My 2¢ Today I feel like uncool Rene. That was my rant for now...
Hey Andrei, it's really not like that. You can actually count all the customs, your country's tax and all of that together and you'll get the price you have to pay at your place. US products are always more expensive here in Europe. Same as people in the US pay more for European products than we do. Also, if you see the US price of a product online, it's always gonna be without tax. That's NOT what they pay for it when they buy it. It's confusing but it's like that over there. They see the tax-free price online, then they click on "buy" and at the end they pay that "online price" plus the taxes of the state they live in. So at the end of the day the price difference is not that radical in reality than how it looks. We (Europe) already see the price + taxes in online stores. They (USA) only see the "netto" price and get the taxes on top of that when they check out. Cheers //Kris
It's truly ridiculous how many musical product companies use Jimi's name to attempt to sell products - products that do not even come remotely close to having a Jimi Hendrix sound. In my opinion, no one but Marshall, maybe, deserves the right to go tearing into Jimi's original equipment to try and copy what they find so they can apply their discovery to their own product and then stamp Jimi's name on it, regardless of the end result. It's not right. This amp sounds nothing like Jimi - not at Woodstock - not anywhere else.
Why would we remove your comment? It's your opinion and you're not crossing any lines here. If Marshall doesn't want to build a "Jimi amp" that features the specs of his heavily modified head, but the Hendrix family agrees to open it up for Paul, then why shouldn't he share that piece of music history with us? I'm glad someone made it available for us. Also, Paul even said it in the video, this amp is not about "we'll all sound like Hendrix now" it's more about how expressive this head is and how much it inspires you to find your tone, whilst using that legendary circuit. Cheers //Kris
The Hendrix family gave permission. Of course I'm sure they are getting a percentage. They could have said no. Don't blame Paul. Thank God he was allowed to make this amp. It's definitely one of the best I 've owned in years.
I could listen to Kris play for hours. Really tasteful licks and great improvisation skills.
