Great tutorial! I have also tested a Jade as uninitialized/stateless. FYI for those watching. I tried to setup from a SeedSigner QR and firmware 1.0.23 would not read it. I just updated to firmware 1.0.24 and it reads it fine and I can do airgapped signing with Sparrow.
Hi there, could you please assist me with my issue? I keep USDT TRX20 in my OKX wallet, and the phrase is (clean party soccer advance audit clean evil finish tonight involve whip action). What’s the procedure to send it to OKX?

Excuse me, could you offer me some help with this? I keep USDT TRX20 in a wallet with the recovery phrase (clean party soccer advance audit clean evil finish tonight involve whip action). Could you explain the process to send it to OKX?
I'm not sure if you can with a connected hww since Sparrow will be looking for that specific one, but with an airgapped set up, you can since the data is being passed back and forth via SD card or QR code.
Hi Wicked as always thank you for Bitcoin education work! Now something that occur to me while watching this tutorial. Of course you have to make sure you have a backup of your seed frase to begin with, but as a super caution measure, wouldn't it be a good idea to first load the seed frase to a different device and testing it before erasing from the original one?
Great tutorial, like many of your others, very clear. I was wondering when checking seed phrase on Cold Card would it include your passphrase if you have one?
What happens if you enter a wrong word when re-entering the seed phrase after wiping them out using “import existing”. Will the wallet accept wrong words?
Once you have your Bitcoin in cold storage in a Hardware wallet, how often do you check on it or do firmware updates? I haven’t done anything in years and am concerned that I may have screwed something up. My HODLings are for underage kids. No one discusses this… thanks
Your bitcoin is actually secured by your seed phrase so as long as you wrote that down correctly, then you should be ok. No need to update the firmware on your signing device unless you want a new feature that you know came out lately or if there's any critical security updates.
If they get their hands on the device and know the PIN, then yes they could see the seed. There's no way to hide it on the Coldcard aside from deleted it from the device after each time you use it.
I want to delete all data from my SD card as well as delete seed phrase from cold card and delete Sparrow from Computer. Then I want to re-download Sparrow maybe on a different computer and re-enter seed phrase into Coldcard and use same wallet to export from SD to Sparrow. Will doing so, allow me to have the orignal wallet from Sparrow? Sorry if this is confusing. But, I want to be able to download Sparrow on a different computer and still have the same wallet. I'm testing to see if I can have my wallet at two different locations. Also, when exporting Json if I deleted the original file if that has an impact on future exports. Thank you in advance and I appreciate your videos.
This tutorial is great . I sleep better knowing I can recover ''signing device'' using seed phrase. One last question. if I were to lose Coldcard MK4 for example, and I buy a new one, would I also need (aside from seed phrase) the Prefix code ? Suffix Code ? anti-phishing 2words ?
I don’t fully understand the implications of it to be honest. I’m not too worried about it though because I store my private keys on these offline signing devices and they never touch my computer. What’s your Twitter handle?
Haha yeah, the longer you stay in the space, the more signing devices you tend to collect. The Coldcard is definitely still my favorite signing device.
Could you please help. My cold card bricked for some unknown reason , it wasn’t tampered with. I got another off coinkite. Put my seed phrase on the new one. Went to nunchuck where I told my BTC. Export signature to cold card sign it on cold card it says it’s signed on the cold card. Then bring it back to nunchuck and it’s just says there’s no signature??
Great video! Would you be able to do a demonstration on how to restore/recover access from a seedless wallet (like BC Vault) to a one with seed (like Jade)? Thank you!
With your seed phrase and passphrase, you can recover your bitcoin wallet on a hot wallet like BlueWallet or Nunchuk or Sparrow, or you can recover it on a hardware wallet like a Coldcard or any of the other ones used in this video.
@@wickedsmartbitcoin i tried with all the hot wallets you mentioned and many other apps, no success. Always says, "Wallet recovered, but with 0,0 Btc/$... etc. Does it means that somebody stoled my coins or is just the wrong path/wallet?
Hey awesome video, just was curious on how you like the passport wallet. I use bitbox and cold card as my main driver and have been seeing more of the passport recently. If you were to get a 3rd hardware wallet in my situation what would u recommend? Thank you!
I like the Passport a lot. If you’re looking for a more budget friendly option then the Jade is good too. I’ve also heard good things about the SeedSigner but haven’t gotten my hands on one yet.
Hello, I enjoy your videos! Have you ever had an issue with sparrow wallet not recognizing one of your signing devices? And if you know how to reinstall a device on a Multisig acct??? Multisig acct not recognizing my trezor.
That's interesting. I haven't had that problem before. Is there any chance that you changed the seed phrase on that device? Also, make sure you don't have Trezor Suite open while trying to connect using Sparrow because only one application can connect to the Trezor at a time.
@@wickedsmartbitcoin thanks for the advice. However, sparrow still doesn’t connect to my Trezor. I did change the seed on the Trezor but I changed it back. I have all my seed phrases and original devices. Could the derivation have changed?? Currently it shows a derivation: 48’/0’/0’/2’ it’s the same derivation as the ColdCard and I can sign with the ColdCard but not the Trezor. I’m perplexed! Thank you for any advice you can give.
Now this is educational content that I can send to family and friends who are new to btc.
Keep up the great content, WSB!👍

Great video. Very important for people to understand how seeds/keys work.
Seems like you say “swipe” where I’ve most often heard people say “sweep”.
Really valuable insightful walk through...Thank you. (My aha lightbulb 💡 went off many times) 💡
Excellent. Just watched for a 2nd time and it’s very clear and concise… Thx!
Thank you.
Answered several questions I did not know I had.
Please keep on doing this. It is helpful to this noob

This was greatly informative. Cheers
Where do o get that case from
Thank you brother. Very important instructions. Great video.
stupid question , after deleting seed and recovering , to i need to Import Coldcard Wallet into Sparrow again ?
Nope, it’ll still be all set in Sparrow (assuming you didn’t add a new passphrase to it). Not a stupid question at all.
Awesome , great work . very educational !! @@wickedsmartbitcoin
Thank you for this great tutorial. Whats the orange case you have on your cold card? Where can I get one?
Love your tutorials. Please make more! Even if they are repetitive! I'm on the left side of bellcurve lol

Can you operate the same Sparrow wallet with all of the cold wallets?
I'm not sure if you can with a connected hww since Sparrow will be looking for that specific one, but with an airgapped set up, you can since the data is being passed back and forth via SD card or QR code.
what happens if you don't have your phrase?
Some devices let you see it in their advanced menus while others don’t.

Really good tutorial. Thanks a lot!
Great tutorial, like many of your others, very clear. I was wondering when checking seed phrase on Cold Card would it include your passphrase if you have one?
Yeah, adding a passphrase will create a new wallet with a different wallet identity/master fingerprint.
Great tutorial!
What happens if you enter a wrong word when re-entering the seed phrase after wiping them out using “import existing”. Will the wallet accept wrong words?
Yeah, it'll accept different words but the wallet ID will be different so you'll know right away that you made a mistake.
Generate. Verify. Memorize. Review. Wipe. Relocate. Regenerate. Be free.
Great video, thank you.
in swiping all the funds to the hot wallet at the end of your video, that consolidated all those UTXOs into one, right?
Correct. You got it!
Oh also...most people say "sweep"...please excuse my dyslexia when I keep saying "swipe" instead haha. 😅
What MC book you have wicked? ❤
Excellent video, mate!

Isn't that bad security having the seed phrase on the ColdCard.?
You mean easily accessible? That's why it's important to either have a good PIN or to wipe the device after use.
So if anyone gets there hands on the device ane knows the pin. Can see the seed? Or is there a option to hide it in secure element?
If they get their hands on the device and know the PIN, then yes they could see the seed. There's no way to hide it on the Coldcard aside from deleted it from the device after each time you use it.
12 words is enouph ?

Yes, that will work. Deleting everything won't effect the recovery and reloading of the wallet on a different computer running Sparrow.
One last thing, when doing this do I set up as File Menu - New wallet or file menu- import wallet ?? Thank you!
@@dpole8either way works.
Thanks for the help!

No those are gonna be different for each device and aren’t related to your seed phrase.
I can't reply to your post on X. Are you concerned at all about the M chip security unpatchable security flaw?
I don’t fully understand the implications of it to be honest. I’m not too worried about it though because I store my private keys on these offline signing devices and they never touch my computer. What’s your Twitter handle?
Do you have any strategies for meeting your QR seed cards secure? I didn't trust safe deposit boxes at banks
Keep them in your own safe and consider adding a passphrase on top.
@@wickedsmartbitcoin appreciate you👍

You have nice printing.
I have been using a Trezor T. I have ordered a Jade after your review, however should I also have another cold card as well.
