That synthesizer sound is just gorgeous
another absolute gem, Jacob's Ladder is a masterpiece
This is my go to when storms are approaching. Sitting in yard now watching lightning blanket the skies. Nighttime so no ladder after
One of my all time favorites. Timeless!
Such a great story.. Not much lyrics are needed because the music itself telling the story
First heard Rush in 90-91. Became life long Rush fan. Weird how things happen..
Timeless relevance...
That obscured atmosphere is just insane...
Amazing how much there ahead of time with there music! I just wish I could live until 2112 just to listen to Rush! I can almost guarantee it will be right in time?
Rush speaks volumes. To every time.
The guys in Rush are all three highly intelligent, very intellectual musicians, like jazz players in a way.
One of the 15 greatest songs in history (IMO).
...don't be stingy, tell us the other 14 Rush songs ;)

Phenomenal song
and Jacob lived happily ever after.❤
Had two wives and at least 13 children. Not sure how happily he lived.
1892 when I first heard this song . I love it more now.
I got this album for a gift on my graduation from 8th grade, a great send off to high school in 1980
Thunder heads are rumbling in their distance overture 😊😊😊
I had the pleasure to listen to this on a very high quality sound system as a teenager (thanks François!!!) and it was simply out of this world. Simply fantastic music that moves you. Thanks Rush.
One of my favorite pieces by them. It's positively sublime.
Great Rush song no one ever talks about (except for here 😉)
Takes me back to 1980 carefree times @ age 13 year's old 🤘🤘 love rush 💯💯💯 natural science is another awesome song too!!
In RUSH we trust!!!
Permanent Waves is the first of the Holy Trilogy of Rush albums. SO GOOD. This is the highlight!
It's a toss-up between this LP and Hemispheres for my favourite Rush album. I love this song especially the keyboard starting at 3:45 -- very Kraftwerk-ish!
imo best Rush song and one of the best songs ever
To me, this song represents everything that is great about RUSH. Great vocals, great lyrics, everyone in perfect coordination with each other through intense time changes and smoking riffs, thundering bass, and incredible drum fills.
I was 15 years old when this LP came out. One of the first albums I ever purchased when I joined Columbia House and RCA Music Club.
I grew to appreciate Rush in the decades since, but "Permanent Waves" got me into them. "Spirit Of Radio" was the first track I heard from them.
It’s almost game time!
I remember bringing this album home for the first time. I had heard both Spirit and Freewill on the radio, so I was familiar with those tunes. Then this came on. The end of side one. Wow, what a way to end it. Side two was just a flip away, and I had no idea what I was in for...
I remember getting this lp for Xmas in 1980 or 1981. This song just blew me away - still does. Love.
Love the Metallic, prog edge of this era of Rush.
One of my favorite Rush songs of all time !!! Wish they had more songs like this precursor to prog metal
This is one of my favorite Rush songs and Permanent Waves is one of my favorite CDS. One of the best rock bands the world has ever seen. Neil Peart was the greatest drummer the Prog Rock world has ever seen. He will be sorely missed. RIP
My favorite song of all time
