      Lol y’all know nothing about it. His MRI showed he had the brain of a 82 yr old Alzheimer patient. All those blows to the head mixed with the spurts of anger from steroids was not healthy. Dude loved his family more than anything. Yes, what he did was awful, but he had no control over anything he was doing.

      You can blame the fact that he had so much brain damage from doing his job. He had the brain of an 80 year old Alzheimer's patient. Autopsy proves it.

      @desmokingun7864 3 ปีที่แล้ว +732

      A man shouldn't be marked by a single deed in his life. At the end of the day, I've seen bad men do good things, but that doesn't make them a hero. And I've seen great men do terrible things, but that doesn't make them villains. The whole truth is is that there were three victims that day. Chris was a victim of a rough sport in a company that did very little to protect it's guys back in the day, and his wife and son were unfortunate victims of the thing that those repeated concussions and brain injuries had made him into. I've met people with TBI, and sometimes, they can shift personalities so drastically that it's almost as if they're a separate person. Which is why I'll always remember Benoit as one of the greatest technical wrestlers of all time. The Crippler was a workhorse before that was even a known title for wrestlers to earn, and he was one hell of a worker. It's just a shame that it took him being a martyr of sorts for concussion health to be taken seriously.

    I started watching WWE in 2006, and he was the first wrestler I ever saw.
    As a quiet, shy kid who didn't speak much, Benoit was my hero. I looked up to him.
    After the tragedy, i didn't see him the same. I still consider him the greatest in ring wrestler ever. The man had his technique based style, and this intense drive in the ring who made him stand out from everyone.
    I just wish it didn't end the way it did.

    Regardless of how the last few days of his life played out, Chris Benoit was one of the greatest I'm ring technicians of all time. He made you believe he was real. His intensity & the smoothness of his transitions from holds to slams. When he locked in the Crippler Crossface you would believe that Benoit was going go rip his opponent's head off. Holy fuck that’s what I was thinking as I was watching this, the eerie feeling of like “look how dark this setting is and then think about what that man did before he killed himself…” but at the same time I can’t help but think of all those matches we all watched he was in and how much he had a hand in building moments in wrestling. It’s a goddamn shame that he would choose to do what he did as the last way to be remembered and the fucked up thing was he probably or more than likely wasn’t even considering the mere fact of “when I actually kill these 2 human beings, I’m gonna be looked at as a monster for the rest of this life” or maybe he was thinking that and didn’t give a shit…. Idk I didn’t mean to rant on but the titantron is still one of my favorites and this theme song will always be fucking awesome!

I never understood why people have this judgement on a man who lost his mind due to CTE. Well, I have a theory. I think people need a villain. Someone to point the finger at. Mental health is only something we as a society have come to accept in recent years, way after the death of Benoit and his family. Of course it was there, but people either chose to ignore it, cope with it via recreational methods, or just say it didn't exist and they were either lying or making excuses.
      I absolutely think the WWE should be held responsible, however. They clearly didn't have the correct structure in place for their workers. And if it wasn't evident enough by 2007, wrestlers do struggle with addictions. They didn't address it enough, and it lead to the death of 3 people, 2 of whom were innocent. It was such a horrific end for everybody involved and serves as a reminder that our bodies are not invincible and our mental health does matter and does play a significant role in not only our life, but the life of those around us.

    He had this air of being a savage brawler with a huge arsenal of brutal methods to torture his opponents, even if it hurt him.
    He was one of the few with a submission finisher and made you think that once it's locked in, it's just a matter of time before his opponent has to either tap or pass out.

    The man lived up to his nickname the rabid wolverine..love him or hate him for what he did..what we all need to agree on is that he gave his life to what he did which is more than what most of us can say for ourselves. It sucks how it ended but we can’t take away from what this man gave to us as fans..

    I was such a big fan of him when I was a kid. I saw him as a role model. I had his DVD, and posters on my wall. I can’t describe how hard my hurt sank when the news came on TV. I still get teary eyed seeing the intro video even though it’s been years.
