Hello Lovely Sewing People!
Here is my vlog for the Instagram challenge #sewfrugal24, which has been organised once again by Sam @Frugalisama and Ruan @theyorkshiresewgirl
I have recorded a vlog every year and the links for them are here:

• Frugal Frocks, pattern...
As I am planning to clone one of my tops I have no patterns to list, however as I said in my video I recommend you watch Adele’s (@Sew4serenity )vlog:
• #sewfrugal24 - inspira...
And also a vlog that Theresa (@LostMyThread ) did a little while ago all about her thoughts on free patterns she has made:

Also I mentioned that the dark blue fabric might have been from this shop:

Like the idea of cloning a favourite top & both would look good, but maybe the second choice. Look forward to seeing what you choose.😊
Love both fabrics but I think the dark blue would be perfect for the cloning, look forward to seeing how you get on, thanks for joining in again 👍
Such a great idea!!! The first with the blue and pink it’s just gorgeous!!!
Your orange cardigan is so fabulous on you that I think you should make it in that colour way!😁
This will be really interesting to see, I love option 2, it looks lovely and light weight.
Option two, definitely.
Love your idea of cloning favourite garments. I must try it. I think the dark blue fabric will be best for your top. It looks like it will not stretch out everywhere, and it will sit nicely once made up. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished top. Good luck 😊
Tracing our garnments is a great idea! I would definitly give it a try for one of my favorite RTW knit tops!
Ooo suoer plan! Both 😘
Lovely top, two beautiful fabrics. However, option two. Looking forward to seeing what you decide. Good luck.
I’m edging towards option 2, although both are lovely ❤
I love both the fabrics, but my preference is the dark blue with the silver threads. Why not both?
Love both ...make two❤️
I am seriously thinking this light be the way to go! 🥰
It sounds like a good plan. I think you should make them both, but start with 1 as that will be more wearable and easier to handle. Once you have the pattern sorted you could then move on to that transparent fabric.
I have used an item of clothing as a pattern and it is so satisfying, especially when you cut out a pattern, place it in a pattern envelope with an image on the front saying...self drafted. As your fabric is thin I should imagine the seams are overlocked or narrow. If they are I would cut the seams out rather than unpick them. Before you detach the sleeves cut a pattern out using the whole of the top together. This will then give you a second pattern to use of a dolman top with just two pattern pieces, excluding the bias binding.Make sure you write any notes down as you see them rather than leave it to the end. I love both fabrics so I would make two. I love your hair clipped back on one side. 😘
Hi Helen, i think option 2 would suit the pattern.
Deffo no 2 although both nice x
The dark blue one, but if it was me, I would make them both.
Go for the two cos they are both fab 😊
Option 2 I think x
Both 🙏❤️💜💙
Do both!
Hi Helen! Thank you for the welcome back!😅 I just heard about this challenge about a week ago. And I did a video using a free pattern this week. And I was so excited to participate just to be part of finding free patterns and meeting new friends.❤ I have shirts I would love clone 6:12 . I might do it because I love t-shirts and dresses.
Both of the fabric choices are nice. I like the first one because you can't see through it.😊
Definitely the dark blue one. I wonder, couldn’t you rescue a piece of the wonderful fabric of your old shirt. It is so pretty.
Thanks for the feedback, sadly the original fabric is really tatty and threadbare now I can’t really rescue any of it 😞
@@StitchRipRepeateven a flower? One little flower? With interfacing? From front and center?
Option two x

Option 2 would look lovely x

I think option 2. 💙🧶🌈🍓
I like both options , I think option 2 is the winner. If it turns out well you could make two tops 😊x
