    This is the most insightful explanation of the concept I've found yet, thank you!

    Honestly this video not only doesn't solve the problem it essentially doesn't even talk about the solution. The problem is that people run out of places in the mind palace. You explained the mind palace being like a form of push ups. So your solution is to reuse the mind palace?

      Yeah, personally I'll probably mostly stick to collecting and making new memory palaces as needed as that's whats been working for me. It seems like his system relies on the linking system and just uses the mind palace to house the chains/give the imagery context. I don't really understand how that would be easier or more efficient than just using other places one has been. I know that personally, I have plenty of locations that I can recreate in my mind with a set journey so I don't really see the benefit of limiting yourself to just one mind palace

    I'm glad I discovered your channel...I also look at Anthony Metvier, Justin Sung, Dr. Alex Young and other teachers, and the reason why.....I want to learn Python and really go deep into it and understand and of course apply it. Do you have anyone, or have you experience using the memory palace, and or mind maps to learn these complex terms in coding? And also how could, or what's the best way to encode these ideas so that I can apply/use the teachings?

    I hope you explain it more step by step and use more examples specially when you talked about patterns. How we csn build them and how we make different infinity patterns in side our memory palace. I asked because this really looks like something super amazing and could be an easy way of get ultimate benefits of use the memory palce pattern not method. I reasly confenced with your idea

    I failed to understand... Or you *forgot* to answer. How is that infinite? You start with the key rack, then the sink, so what way do you have an infinite number of things in your home?

      It seems to me he is combining the mind palace with multiple layers of the linking method rather than using multiple locations you know well. Basically, he has a starting image for each set of information that he needs to manually recall and then the associated links that move through the defined journey all follow from that image. It is unclear exactly how many layers he places and for how long he wishes to retain the information but for my purposes, attempting to remember a large amount of practical information for long-term purposes, this take on the mind palace would probably get really confusing really fast. In over a decade of using, experimenting with, and researching the mind palace, this is the first I've heard of this take on the method, most memory masters use a large number of distinct locations, some, such as Lynne Kelly will add multiple layers of detail onto a single mind palace, but typically they're all related, additional details that flesh out your knowledge on a single subject rather than multiple distinct sets of information, and typically it manifests in ever increasingly complex images rather than multiple threads of distinct, concurrent imagery. Personally, I'll be trying this version as well, probably starting with some training info just in case, as it's best to continue to work with the techniques and see what works for you.

    Would you recommend a online course or reading list for a future philosopher ? I am mainly interested in Philosophy of Religion, but philosophy in general is a passion of mine.

    I’m learning to use memory techniques and I’m just in awe. Why isn’t everyone doing this? Been pondering that question as I improve. It’s unbelievably enriching and useful. So what gives?

      The problem is that the public education system is not designed to optimize the student. It's meant to create workers with adequate knowledge for the job. Creating an army of geniuses creates an army of competitors, not what business wants.

    Hi. I am from Pakistan and love to watch memory boost training videos. I am really thankful to you for such a nice video you made for us. One question I have which is...
    I have made only one memory palace having multiple locations which is used to memorize all kinds of data. Now I generaĺly do like I keep the main topic character (or question otherwise) involved at each and every location and make some rediculous story over there by using the key words into images so that at any particlar time if I have to pick any info from that location, there would be no crossing or intersection among the data from other topics that I had memorized before by using the same palace. So want to know your suggestion what should we do at that point so that we can get the exact data of that particular topic from the same location as it takes time to manage such situations for several topics. Thanx

      Rajab, do you use this technique to remember data as in Python, Java Script, computer programming or other programming and coding ? I'm learning Python right now, and I'm going to learn how to use Memory Palace and mind maps to learn python.

      @@RobertSpiller @Robert Spiller I am an employee and still just for fun use this but if I would have got this earlier in my early days then it would be far better to achieve a lot by this technique. So definitely one can memorize anything from this whether it is Python or something else.

    Are you saying that you can youase your first loci multiple time? How doesnt that create a mix of memoryes

    • @ChristopherAnadale
      @ChristopherAnadale  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In my experience, once you remember the 1st link in a set, it takes you automatically to the 2nd link in that chain, not to the 2nd in a different set. Having the mental experience of moving from place to place helps, one association leads naturally to the next.

    • @rajabagain2179
      @rajabagain2179 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChristopherAnadale My question here is how to link the 1st item image to make chain with the 2nd location as you have mentioned here only one location example. If you would give the next location link here then we can easily understand. But had learnt about link system of memory by Harry Loylain but he separately use this kind of link system without using the memory palace.

  • @BarKeegan
    @BarKeegan ปีที่แล้ว

    When you set up your chain based on real life locations, and you wants to add more links, does it matter wether or not the next link has a geographical proximity to the prior? Does it break the immersion of the journey you created if you’re mentally leaping from one continent to the next to recall a chunk of knowledge? Could my new Palace be a series of global worship sites with no actual path linking each location?

    • @ChristopherAnadale
      @ChristopherAnadale  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The technique works by using your mind & body's natural association of one place with an adjacent place. Since the sequence of places is very familiar to you, it is a good memory chain to attach other things to. I don't think your suggestion will work unless there is a natural & powerful association of one global worship site to the next (i.e., St Paul's in London THEN Haiga Sophia, always in that order). Unless the connection between sequential memory slots is there already, it seems like it is not helpful as a memory tool for other things.

      @@ChristopherAnadale thanks, I think it helps to clarify, but wondering what to do if my familiar trail reaches a dead end, not that I expect to go infinite

    • @ChristopherAnadale
      @ChristopherAnadale  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would loop around to the beginning again, and go thru the same space multiple times. That seems simpler & more reliable than moving to a new place mentally.

    • @BarKeegan
      @BarKeegan ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChristopherAnadale is this where layering of associated info comes in, or are you going to end up with mental clutter when covering new subjects in the same Palace?

    • @ChristopherAnadale
      @ChristopherAnadale  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think clutter is avoidable, since each loop is connected all the way through. The hard step is resetting to the beginning slot, but after that I believe the items in Slots 2, 3, 4... will follow naturally from your memory of the item is Slot 1 of that loop. Whatever confusion you might have between loops should fade with repetition. Please let me know if it seems otherwise for you.

    All memory gurus be like: "I put the first image into the first locus, the second image into the second locus. See, it's infinite!" HOW ON EARTH IT'S INFINTE???

    • @ChristopherAnadale
      @ChristopherAnadale  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You loop around, start over again at the 1st locus. Not hard to keep the rounds separated if you remember the first, then remember the connection between the 13th (or whatever) of one and the 1st of the next one. And even if you have to memorize all the firsts in order, that's a lot less to recall.
