I meet my daughter when she was 4! She didn't like someone coming into her and her moms life. But she accepted me and now that me and her mom are now divorced and she's turning 13 she still stays with me most of the time and although she is a teen and don't see it yet I hope she will see how much I love her as she gets older!

I lost my step daddy 2 years ago:( he was my world. Raised me for 22 years until he passed away. He was my best friend. My older sister and Our dad immediately came to mind when I heard this song. My dad and My sister met when she was 3 years old... I came along when she was 6. I knew growing up we had different DNA ( father wise) but I never really realized what that meant. My sisters " father" died before I was born, so she was never gone on weekds or shared custody things. She just had a Differnt last name ( that our father had answered to a couple times when it was easier then trying to explaine) but he never treated us differently. Omg it’s like this song was written for my husband and daughter. We started “dating” when she was 3 & he’s been there for her since then. I was raised by my moms ex husband from age 2- age 12, he's still in my life, we just aren't as close as father/children should be. When I was 13 my mom met the man she's married to now. I'm 32 and I feel like my "step-dad" has ALWAYS been there. It's sometimes hard to remember that he came into our lives when I was 13 years old. Until my mom met this man, I had no idea what a dad really was. I wasn't raised by a man that was fully inclusive with his children and the children of his wife. UNTIL this other man entered our lives. Both men, by my choice, gave me away when I married my husband in 2016. But the man my mom is currently married to is my Dad. The Man I called Dad my mom and him were childhood friends. My mom had me young at 18. He was there the day I came home from the hospital he made sure I had everything I needed. I was a summer baby he always rocked me to sleep in the hammock. Unfortunately my mom and him had a big blow out. Again at 5 I can remember meeting him in person again him telling me he use to rock me asleep and so on. I was quiet and confused 😕 . Mom explained everything to me. Since the age of 5 he is the man I call Dad and Always will. He did everything a Dad should do. Unfortunately he lost his battle to cancer this past February of 2021. Still hard believe he is gone but not forgotten.
