Hey everyone. I've decided to start posting short clips from my podcasts because I know a lot of people don't have time to watch a full episode. Let me know if this is something you would like me to do for every episode! ❤
Wouldn't mind seeing Abdus Salaam Ebrahim on here, for a change. Would be interesting to get their perspective of the looming threat at the time (crime, influx of drugs, gangsterism, police corruption, etc). The way I see it, prominent gang leaders of the time, were mules, used by the Apartheid regime and others beneficiaries, to profit off the degradation, division and diversion of coloured people on the Cape Flats...... All by systematic, political, and economical design. Prominent gang leaders of the time were mules, (knowing or unknowing) agents, of the Apartheid regime, used to flood our communities with drugs, division, guns and gangsterism...... diverting Coloured peoples attention from mobilizing, and reclaiming District Six and other areas their parents and grandparents were forcibly removed from, before their relocation to the Cape Flats. Please get Abdus Salaam Ebrahim, or former Apartheid activists from the coloured community to let their voice be heard, and share their take on gangsterism, drugs, and the image and stereotyping of Cape Coloureds. There's more to our people than gangsters and former gangsters. There's more voices, voices that will make less-popular Hollywood films that glamorize and romanticize the gangsterism, drugs, and black-on-black crime. We need new coloured voices to be heard. Please.
Hey, thank you so much for this. I will do some research on Abdus Salaam Ebrahim and try get in contact with him. I would love to speak to some activists from the coloured community. Could you send me a message on IG so we can chat further?
I'm assuming it was a .22 he was shot with not that it's less impressive but it wouldn't be the first time a .22 went around the skull bone instead of through it
