One thing I can say for sure are that ex gangsters are the best story tellers. They give you context, emotion, adjectives, discursive perspectives,Phewww! Keep it going Josh!
If you think about most gangsters are charismatic as a result of it being part of the gangs culture to have swagger in how you walk, talk and dress so more than likely there's a correlation between their charisma and lifestyle
Netflix should strike andeal with Thando......there is a lot to leant from this guys story.Truly touching.Thumbs up to Thando and more life to him. There is a reason why the Universe chose him not to die and be able to tell his story.
this guy needs to do something drastic with his life, he is the most articulate person ive heard, very clear and he has this amazing skill of listening properly and understanding questions, his responses are direct and smart. this guy is a genius, made in crime. wow Thando wow
Yoh, the way this guy speaks. You can feel the texture, the stories are so captivating and his diction is so beautiful too. I love the culture, I love the realness of him. Love and Respect Broer. So real.
I am convinced that we have lost some of the greatest minds to crime and gangsterism. Thando is a clever broer hey, I am glad that he is living to tell the tale.
I feel like we're forgetting how many people he's killed. We don't know there histories - we're they all other gangsters, or we're their innocent civilians there too?
this is the best episode I have seen on the channel thus far. Thando is a great storyteller and I am glad he is a born again now, he had a crazy life and I would love to wish him all the best with the rest of his life. It would be nice if you'd bring him back again, he is an awesome storyteller
This is one of my favourite episodes. Well done Josh and Thando. Thando has such a fantastic spirit and his storytelling had me glued to my phone for the entire episode. Would love to hear his wife's story as well. Thanks to Dariusz for the referral.
JR I like the you ask the right questions and direct the conversation. Your guests are comfortable and get to tell their story. This episode is captivating and enlightening. Your work is appreciated 👊
This is so touching, your story should be on the Big Screen man, the world and the prisons need to hear and see this…Your life is your Testimony and God kept you all this time through hard times and struggles..

This is an amazing story.. Thando is such an articulate person.. the authenticity of his story, experience and profound meaning he managed to communicate is his superpower. Thanks Josh, I miss you my dude and its nice to hear your voice and watch you do what you do best. Much love xx
hi Josh my name is Jeffrey Whittle known as Jefinem, i have been skipping this podcast the hole week now and id watched your other shows but this morning this Sunday morning i chose to click on this one. i must say that i am inspired by this man, im from Delft South and i was walking in those areas of cross roads and phillipi and i can only say that God was with coz i had no clue that those areas was like that. the John Wick Colony. thankyou for interviewing the people to share their stories, it will save lives, thankyou.
Thanks Josh, that whole episode just blew my mind. His story, whilst similar to many others, just comes across in a different way. Keep doing what you're doing, all the best.
Wow, Thando powerful testimony 1.56:30 - 2:15:41.Thx for sharing your story.I salute your mom for not giving up.May God blessed you guys.Thumbs up Wide Awake Podcast.
Hey Josh , I really like your documentaries . I would really like to see a interview with ex female prisoners and or gangsters. How the female prisons are run, is it similar to males prisons with numbers gangs etc.
Great interview and listening to my brother narrating his story is mind blowing. I'm glad he turned his life around and I'm glad to have met him. A very bright mind indeed.
The only south african ex-gangster of colour that I heard can articulate himself so well, he has good vocabulary, he has alot of potential, I bet everyone that came near to him adored him and the rest hated him for the admiration he got
It's because he speaks in the language he grew up with just like other 'South African ex-gangsters of colour' articulate themselves so well in their Sotho, Xhosa, Zulu, Tswana, Pedi, Swati, Tsonga, Venda and Ndebele so well

This must have been the best interview I've seen so far on this show, even though all your content is great and insightful. The way this guy speaks, you can hear that his knowledgeable, and how he articulates his words to paint these various scenarios. The way he progressed the telling of his story is so good. It's very hard to be involved in a low level criminal life style, and have good speaking skills, not that's impossible, but it's unlikely. I'm surprised that he managed to survive so long! All of these attributes doesn't take away the fact what he done in the past. It can't be erased. Hopefully this video serves as an educational one, to show others that this might not be the best career choice.
Best interview on SA gangsterism ever. Thando you should write a book about your life. Would love to meet you in person, my brother in Christ. God bless ♥️
His very well spoken and highly intelligent. The concept of his victims being his army in hell in order to overthrow the devil is wild, what a guy I hope he can find a way to use his mind for good in this world.
U mean so that other children's can learn from him..n follow his footsteps...as he's saying all he did was looking to his brother cuz he was already a gangster at that time...me I don't like it if it's be a movie...cuz thus nothing we can learn from it..n used it for our children's future....i think many poeple at his time were killed..robbed...hijacked..that's not nice to watch....n children's of today they are good r they like to copy other people's doing...specially thus drugs around...I don't wish..it's oky when he's explaining here...not movie....n he didn't die..some they'll think it's oky n he's a hero..
