It actually sounds quite amazing. I'm not a drummer myself but I wish the sample industry would capture this particular sound already. The snare and the bd I'm hearing is exactly what I need.
Nice man! Think that’s my favorite overall hybrid/cocktail set I’ve seen so far. I love the range of size and timbre available. That floor Tom is definitely beefy. However, really nice contrast with the snare and high-tom. I suggest some VF Peter erskin ride sticks. Keep rocking! Thanks for sharing….
Hey, any more info on how to switch up the bass pedal? Your setup inspired my, just got home with a mounted side snare and have this 16" floor tom, just can't rig the pedal.. Thanks!
You could try to seperate the tom and the bass. Some people will cut some wood to fit into it and seperate the floor tom from the bass. I don't know how much that would improve the sound.
Hey man, checking out your kit and just converted my 16 inch floor tom. Can't seem to find the lp brackets that you used to mount your snare and tom.. Do you know there exact name?
Simon Dewar they are the arms from the LP mini everything rack. On the bass drum pedal the chain drive has to face you, and the beater goes into the bottom. I should make a video.
Hello, I love that snare-- actually, the entire set sounds great. I've been searching for a cocktail kit . I love the way yours looks with the wood showing. Is there any way you'd consider selling this kit? I am very interested in purchasing. Please do consider and write back. Thank you ~
This kit has been dismantled, the floor Tom was sold off, the snare is on my niece’s kid drum set. I still have the 8” swingstar Tom. The last configuration of this kit had a pearl M80 snare and a 14x15’ swingstar Tom as the bass/floortom.
To be honest, from the looks I wasn't that impressed and didn't expect too much. Most similar video's online show awfull executions. This things sound impressed me a lot. Well done!
It's tough to tune the floortom sound because you have to contend with the bass drum half sounding good as well. I always opt for a better kick tone rather than the floortom.

That 8" sounds absolutely unreal.

That 8" tom sounds freaking great!
The rise of the 8 inch tom, bring them back, I bought one recently and it's blooming great, it inspires me to play differently, yeh
Whole kit sounds amazing, but that floor tom kick simply blows my mind! Sounds better than most "real" kicks I've heard!

Very convincing demo.. I have not heard a better sounding cocktail kit.. Thank you for sharing :)
Snare sounds really nice! Great idea with the set! :)
I think it is a great job and althoug it all sounds decent, the snare surprises.. really like it.
That 8" sounds like a 10 or 12; great job!
Love the idea! I'm thinking about trying something similar and found you while looking for inspiration!
Can you explain the mounting bracket for the kick pedal more? It looks like the best solution I've ever seen!
Nice kit. I like it.
that snare sounds awesome!
Sick drum kit and sick breakbeats!!
Snare suond are incredible
Wow! That Tom got some tone!
You are my newest hero...NICE!
To address the knee in the floortom problem, I positioned the snare back toward myself. So the 16" is a little further forward.
Take any dw apart and put the chain drive on backward and position the beater so it rests at about 45 degrees toward the floor.
Your "home made" kit sounds better than ALL the commercially made ones Maybe you should start selling them ?
Great job ! Need to make one .

sounds really good for a "toy" snare drum

i have snare clamped to hi-hat stand...
I'm trying to find out how to flip bass pedal... any ideas?

すごく良いセットですね

The heads were more expensive than the drums.

Awesome
Nice!!!

It's amazing except the floor tom, is it tuned correctly?

Huh??? Kinda defeats the reason for Cocktail Drums, don't it?
You can stand and play, but that’s why I also say ‘jungle”
Looks very uncomfortable to play for any amount of time. Sounds alright I guess but definitely positioned waaaaay too high,
