Eastar Adult Drum Set - 18-inch Full-Size Drum Kit for Adults Review
Review of the “Eastar Adult Drum Set - 18-inch Full-Size Drum Kit for Adults” as seen on Amazon. I got this kit for $50 on marketplace. Set up with a good set of cymbals but original heads and minimal modification just to see what this cheap set can do before i harvest the bass drum shell for another project.

I have the SAME kit. I am giving it a COSMETIC MAKEOVER

Mute the kick and tune up ,and I don't think it sounds bad imo. ??
@@diggikeyzmemphis2988 i think im going to do another vid of this set with some quality heads.

just picked up a cx in the black oynx 200 decent condition i just ordered a few new tension rods and one rod mount assembly gonna get some new heads cant decide coated or not
@@Mrjazzzery make sure those tension rods are metric!
@ thank you they’re PDP lugs!! Hopefully they never changed lol
Im still playing this kit. Have a 14" tom not a 13". Never been a big fan of the snare, but overall a versatile and dependable kit.
@@playingwithsticks6819 yes they are built well. I have acquired a set of 8” and 10” add on toms, and a 14” tom. I already had another bass drum 13”tom, and 18” floortom. I found them on a local add and knew the 18” was rare and could come in handy someday. Eventually I’ll get around to wrapping them and do another review.

@@awesomefanger probably not. He’s been out of the north sac scene since he came home from prison in the late 90’s
@@NorthNorth80sBaby i just grew up there, not really my scene either.
@@awesomefanger me too. Grew up with both the misfits and HA in my life. It was a north sac staple
Ludwig/Paiste player too. Favourite Drummer being Eric Carr. Love the War Machine/Calling Dr.Love Drum licks!!!.
*** EDIT *** I just got to the part where you state that you installed those spurs. Oops! It seems very rare to see one of the Granitone Rocker bass drums that not only has the beefier spurs, but is also virgin. Very cool.
Beautiful drums - both sets! I'm currently restoring a set of cobalt blue Turbo Tour Customs but came across a set of 1967 Ludwigs yesterday and found this video to help me consider them. Imagine my surprise seeing those mellow yellow beauties in the background. I'm just as impressed with the Ludwigs as I am hearing your skills. Great video. Thanks for posting it!
@@deejaaywalker2314 thanks! I actually parted with this set as I have a 65 super classic, and am working on a 67 Hollywood. So this set became redundant.

Are you still looking for a 24
Its so nice watching a video of someone who knows what they’re talking about so in depth. So many beginner kit demos and reviews are like horrible quality and tuned horribly by beginners, I just need a kit like you said, not nice but not horrible for my usual beach gig that takes a toll on my finishes, thanks for this vid 🙏
@@dextergalvan8360 thanks! I actually started doing my own wood burning on this kit, it’s a tiki motif for the surf band. I still need to maybe partially stain and seal it. But the idea was there is no way the wrap would hold up in direct sunlight. I will likely do a short video on it when it’s finished.
@@awesomefangerYou keep on giving me ideas 😭🙏
Can anyone tell me what year Swingstar I have? It the oval black badge.
It's crazy to me how these turbo toms with equal depth and diameter, don't look square to my eye. They look deeper than they are wide. The other visual perspective mystery for me and drums is when you set up two rack toms on the bass drum left handed. The relative size between the two drums totally changes to my eye, when I set up the toms left handed.
The hoops add almost 1/2” to each side, thats why i think Tama and Ludwig’s 11x12, 12x13 look more square. Also the fact that they’re cylindrical makes them loot longer. I greet about the left handed sets. Look at Phil Collin’s concert tom set, it looks unplayable.
The c b 700 was my first proper kit when I was 15 my first kit was a small lugwig 20 in bass drum 3 piece bought a snare and cymbals I got fucked on the price I was 13 excited and the guy bent me over it's funny I confronted him when I got older I told him he needs his ass kicked for over charging me and he gave me 100 dollars. M F. But back to c bs I eventually got two extra bass drums and twelve in Tom my kit was modeled after Alex Van Halen though I hated V H it was a cool set up I was into Judas priest Iron Maiden Mercyful Fate and Fates warning
which tree has this drum pattern?
You got good beats bro!!

Even without mics. the kit still sounds good. I've always loved those 80's Yamaha kits. Brilliant!
Good play; I noticed you were summoning songs that you knew, as we all do. I also noticed your face after playing the cymbals. Yes, Zildjian had some entry level "diamonds". And I will quote someone else who said, "You smash those once they will become Chinas". However, please don't use the beginner pack cymbals as a reflection on the 90s Export Taiwan series drums. As many have said, there were millions made, and they are tanks with the right heads and tuning. Very reliable, and very popular. Yes, Japanese ergonomics were not correct. For kick drum mounted toms you would need to be 7 feet tall to accurately arrange them. Perhaps the Japanese think we are 7 feet tall... Can everyone afford a Gretsch? or even DW? No, and certainly not then. I have a set and they still sound good with the right TLC. With the right heads, cymbals, and arrangements, these junk drums can sound exceptional.
I will be gigging this set on Friday as a four piece. As far as the cymbals, i am very familiar with the scimitar bronze, including the later versions. I think these sound better than the ZBT and ZXT cymbals.
That is a gorgeous kit. I have same drop G same colour but different sizes. Mine are not quite as clean. I'd love to find a 10 and 16 floor. Congrats on a great kit
I actually bought a square badge 8x10 tom to add to this kit.
Enjoyed this video. Awesome drumming. Awesome kit. Awesome drum tuning.
I have the Swingstar kit in the same color. 5 piece. I don’t have “T” badges so I’m thinking mine is from the late 70’s. Still being played today!
Sets back then you had the mount in middle and we would angle the toms a bit higher and slanted, the 10" mainly highest over the high hat.
The most underated drums out there, they sound awesome with the right heads!
AFTER SET UP YEATERDAY IT SOUNDS LIKE ITS PERFECTLY MATCHED TUNE WISE

I had a brand new x7 white pearlescent have save it kit in the box a 15 years a go come 7 peace kit and probably same presentation stock tuning song nice 👍
Tão linda, más, tem um som horrível.
Nice. I modified my kit as a 6pc. Which means kick, snare, two rack toms, & two floor toms.
The old CX kits sounds good... I had an FS series back then. Only went with it because Guitar Center gave me a deal on them. I always keep my eyes open for a CX on marketplace.
I have my kit set up the exact same but different drums
Sounds really good. Thanks for the video
I did a little reading on Mitch's kit. it was a 1967 Silver Sparkle with a 14" Supraphonic, 13, 16, 16, 22

hey bro, oldschool 80's drummer here, new sub for ya here , i am tracking down some gear/drums to build a kit/set , i have a ext low budget for them or can trade perhaps , if you know anybody , please send em my way , thanks > tom !
You are good. You got my sub. I saw this set for sale at a garage sale so I wanted to see what it sounded like. I think I'll buy it and play around with it.
This kit sounds really good. Great tuning and great playing
Nice man! Think that’s my favorite overall hybrid/cocktail set I’ve seen so far. I love the range of size and timbre available. That floor Tom is definitely beefy. However, really nice contrast with the snare and high-tom. I suggest some VF Peter erskin ride sticks. Keep rocking! Thanks for sharing….
