the overheating under such stressful conditions has no impact on day to day use.
Man the S23U is still 🔥 imo. I never understand why these companies push for such high overclocked benchmark numbers while sacrificing thermals. Crazy it couldn't even finish WLE stress test. Also Geekbench 6 is much different than QRD scores. Thank you for this review. I'll make sure to share your video on my community page since I won't be able to test lol. I'm gonna wait for the Galaxy S24 Ultra in January
It could have but I didn't want to risk it tbh, Oppo Find X6 Pro was going 55 with the same test, and stability was the best...very high temps :(
@VelianSpeaksTech even if scores are good, temps that high isn't a good thing. I wonder if it is due to extremely high power consumption 🤔
It's important to note that Xiaomi is not always struggling with thermal issues. Take the Xiaomi 13, for example - the smaller variant boasts excellent temperature management as evidenced by various reviews.
In my opinion, Qualcomm needs to explore innovative solutions for creating cooler chips. This would alleviate the need for smartphone manufacturers to resort to exotic methods like using graphite, heat pipes, and copper plates to cool their devices.

What is worse is the battery adding to overheating. Xiaomi uses Li-Po which decapitates faster including lifespan compared to Li-Ion batteries.

Hello Velian, love your videos. I have a question about the Xiaomi 14 (Pro) : does it still use the same camera App as the Xiaomi 13? I have the Xiaomi 13 and in video pro mode I can connect a stereo usb-c external microphone but it will only record in mono. Same when using the recorder App. Same setup connected to Samsung S23 Ultra is working perfect, in stereo. Do you have any experience with this? Thanks, Erik
Tnx man! It looks to me as the same camera app, UI and etc. There seems to be a issues with Xiaomi 14, lltech also noticed it when using an external mic.

There is no other HyperOS right now, just the Chinese version.

They put nits more and allways S23 U is brightness.. 8 pro same it loss S23 U and put more nits paper 😊 and i am so happy that 45w charging. No more speeed charge battery is not like these china mega speeds, and battery life is so good that no matters. S23 U charge 85% fast never give up battery. Thanx video man 👍

single core on the 13 Ultra running Snapdragon 8 gen 2 is 2015 multicore is 5504 still ahead of the Samsung and not that far behind the gen 3 I remember reading the specs for the gen 3 and thats about right .

When the global ROM is launched, how to install it on the phone?
Great video. My Pro version will come soon as well. Just tested the regular model. What I noticed the recording with an external mic seems to be totally garbage as it has some aggressive filter active that seems to try to filter some noise out but totally sounds bad. I have this issue on the 13 Ultra and 14 now. Can you reproduce it on your 14 Pro?

I have to try it with an external mic and will share, what drove me crazy was the fact that when I recorded video by hand with the stock case I got messages that I am blocking the mic, did the Xiaomi 14 do the same?
Also the temps on performance mode while testing in 3dMark were not so nice and I had to abort... interesting how the smaller brother will handle.

As for benchmarks I tested Antutu only currently. Temps raised 15°C but where only at 24°C so still acceptable. I will check 3DMark as well and will tell you here

У меня Сяоми Ми 4С. Люблю за реалистичную съемку фото. Днем в хорошую погоду фото отличные. Настоящие, как видит глаз. Видео немного подбрехивает в помещении. Но в солнечную погоду видео снимает тоже хорошо. Но есть большой минус - автофокус очень грубо отрабатывает. Много и резко зумит туда-сюда.

Nice video👍 would you pick the Samsung S23 Plus or the Xiaomi 14 (regular)? Xiaomi's specifications are incredible, but the numbers aren't always the most important thing. Even at the software level, I see more robustness and reliability in Samsung. I’m in doubt about which one to pick.

I found the same thing with the 13 Ultra.the brightness in the sun did not seem to be going to the nits specified, maybe it needs an update or two.
It's very common on these Chinese phones maybe a marketing strategy
In some other videos people are able to get it to 2950 nits so technically it should work, the thing is... probably issues with TH-cam HDR videos and etc, that`s not ideal.

Even if you have a camera that can take close to that quality, there's nothing that can equal swapping out real lenses to get the perfect shot, a camera phone is so when you don't have a real camera around you. Then again speaking like that you have to be young. I don't sleep with children anymore. Goodbye.

The entire artificial intelligence part regarding photos is missing, 1) Generative filling 2) Generative portraits with photos in the gallery 3) Photo search via tag. Why don't you show how it works?
That's a subject to another video, I want to make sure that 8gen3 Ai features are adopted by Xiaomi in HyperOS.

Also because the functions presented by Xiaomi for the new operating system go beyond the installed CPU, so all smartphones that will be updated will have those features. The real question is whether in the global version there will be at least one of the functions present in the China version, but I doubt it!
@@DDANIELE1978 They have the AI functions and they are very quick, but I can not tell if they are part of MIUI/HyperOS gallery editing software features or they are aided by the 8gen3 AI features... hard to tell..
I was looking to test night video and video eraser and they are not present at the moment.
@@VelianSpeaksTech The eraser in videos is a function supported by snapdragon, but it is not part of Xiaomi's functions, as shown during the hyper os event, the functions are only those of generative filling and creation of images via text, thanks to l Xiaomi's assistant, the AI portrait assistant, requires a connection to a Chinese server. So in fact, Xiaomi does not use Qualcomm's artificial intelligence, also because otherwise it would be penalized by always having to use Snapdragon, while it has chosen to do so on its independent operating system whether you have Snapdragon or MediaTek. But in the global version, we will probably only have the generative fill functionality.
Thank you Velian, nice phone but the disappointing part for me is the camera which I didn't expect from Xiaomi. I have been using the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and currently, I'm using the Xiaomi 12s Ultra and the video quality is way better than the Xiaomi 14 Pro.

I didn't like the night photos. I saw other comparisons and it loses to the Pixel 8 Pro in night photos, with the Pixel 8 Pro using the same sensor size, an aperture of f/1.68 and a much inferior processor. I feel like the S24U will annihilate the 14P

Bro Xiaomi killed everyone these pictures are looking masterpieces also they intentionally made the phone to not make night to day while using night mode you can edit photo if you want night into day but the details are significantly more and price is significantly lower compared to others.😂❤

There is a bug when playing HDR content from TH-cam on the Xiaomi... Without HDR it works fine but they need to fix TH-cam

They are very different in real life use.
Disappointed with the Camera Sensor decision, what a bummer. Also fake claim about the brightness... They lied about the frame borders that are thinner then iPhone 15 Pro Max... Vudeo is bad and with jitters on 4k60, still no sky on selfie video, overheating... Epic Fail in my book, VST!

Pics are vivid and have the Leica style which I like, night shots are natural and don't go for the AI modern mobile photography movement - let's make the night look like a day bulshit eyesore fantasy.
