When I was in Alaska at a glacier some of the ice melt and it pooled in a lake about 150 yards by like 75 the color of the water was like you put blue food color in it I took a drink and it felt like it went straight down my throat. It was so smooth and refreshing best water I’ve ever tasted
I love how many of these stories include people trying to keep old traditions alive, these people might work against their own economic interests, but legacy is more important to them.
+how dy It's the minerals in the water that give water its taste. Chimborazo is a volcano and its surrounded by many active volcanoes which add minerals to that ice. So, it definitely has a different taste than water from glacials in Alaska.
This is man a true legend. He works because he loves the tradition and he loves doing it. Let us never forget this tradition, the other traditions that still exist, and the people who do them to this day. These people are true legends, true heroes, and truly deserve to be in the history books.
This is life over there. My dad started working when he was 9 years old shining shoes in Cuenca, Ecuador. He often recalled watching my grandmother come home from the rich people's houses with bloody knuckles from washing their clothes in the river all day, she was a maid. Him and his 4 brothers and 2 sisters mother and father lived in essentially a giant colorbond shed with curtains to seperate the rooms. His Christmas presents were marbles or 1 plastic toy car. They treated people in hospitals based on pay up front so when my uncle's twin sister got the flu at 7yrs old they were 20 cents short and she ended up dying from an infection. It was hard. Thats how the world works to many are blind to how things are run
No if it was the glacier ice he harvested it would be more expensive then that. Also that "glacier water" isn't glacier water at all.
he's free to sell the ice on his own, if he wants. you need to understand how capitalism works
He would be a millionaire if he sell it to big companies
@@tiramisu6799 the big company would buy the mountain the old guy would be unemployed
Wow I would gladly buy ice from him.❄
He is a Legend. 🏆🏅
Him working is keeping him alive,
It gives him purpose.
IM from Riobamba when a watched this documental tears come from my eyes remenbering my younger years en that beautiful city
It pains me to see him and his donkeys do this kind of work for only $5. But I respect the man for his dedication and commitment. He truly is an example. I recently started watching these vids on this channel and all I can say is that ppl around the world hustle and never give up. I appreciate videos like these
For some reason now I want to go to Ecuador and start helping him

This guy has more pride in his work than a thousand millennials. Stay strong buddy.

This is such an endearing experience of someone who is so dedicated to his work. He is an amazing person. Everything from Mother Nature really has its distinctive beauty that our technology can’t bring.
He’s a truly amazing man ❤️

That dude is tough as nails , that is a lot of hard work.
Funke House § You said it!! I scrolled a while to find a comment about his toughness. Very impressive at that altitude. Factor in his age, and he is quite remarkable.
0:57 that lama is really cute..
When I was in Alaska at a glacier some of the ice melt and it pooled in a lake about 150 yards by like 75 the color of the water was like you put blue food color in it I took a drink and it felt like it went straight down my throat. It was so smooth and refreshing best water I’ve ever tasted

Up your ass
Tv Confusion 😂😂
I love how many of these stories include people trying to keep old traditions alive, these people might work against their own economic interests, but legacy is more important to them.
May you live longer and prosper, sir
"Until God takes me, I want to work bringing ice"....
The old man found his meaning bringing down ice from the high mountains
Damn...I wanna try glacier ice refreshments now
^
Rhodesian Wojak freeze some mineral water
It tastes like normal ice (I live in Alaska and there’s a lot of glaciers)
+how dy It's the minerals in the water that give water its taste. Chimborazo is a volcano and its surrounded by many active volcanoes which add minerals to that ice. So, it definitely has a different taste than water from glacials in Alaska.
He just love his work and the mountain.
Thumbs up for the researcher who introduced him in this channel!
Thats the spirti continue doing what you love doing😁
I salute you
If hotel had this ice on their menu the price will be *$$$$$$$$$$$$$*
when he's ridding the donkey he looks like a missionary from aoe2
Lmaoo, just saw this, died laughing
Simple old values. He is happy doing what he knows best and he is happy to just get by. Good wishes and love for him.
He's a LEGEND, full of LIFE , he DESERVES more, please do HONOUR him.
My man found the ice spikes biome and he is making a nether hub with ice boats
I want to try the ice.....
get a bottle of mineral water and freeze it
@@Automedon2 i dont think that will taste the same
I think he is referring to meth... but.. with profile picture of math guy... yeah i think he just wanted a solid water....
Respect 💯 👏 👏 👏for this great man and donkeys
This guy is the embodiment of what most people are like over there. La fuerza del Chimborazo siempre.
