Nice video. Just a couple of notes:
Low viscosity thermal pastes like Noctua's NT-H1 and Arctic's MX-4 are not ideal for direct die applications like this one. Low viscosity pastes are susceptible to "pumpout" (it literally gets pumped out from between the die and heatsink due to cyclic thermal expansion).
You should ideally use higher viscosity thermal pastes for something like this. Arctic's new MX-6 is a good example of one.
Additionally, for direct die applications like this you should always manually spread the thermal paste to ensure full coverage over the die. The dot method is only really suitable for CPUs since those have an IHS, and aren't affected significantly if a small portion on the edge is not covered, unlike bare dies which can be damaged if not fully covered.

    Thank you
I opened my ps4 for first time for cleaning and thermal past reemplacement ,i noticed i have only 2 pads on the voltage ICs , one missing from factory. Maybe i add one more but dont now if the pad should be 1mm or less

That's the Battle Angel Alita Blu-ray right there?

What's the metal thing that falled when you opened the metal plate? The one that you temporaly added a screw to stay still? What is for? What are the consecuences of not adding it?

As far as I can tell it is a spacer and a way to put a thread in that particular place to ensure equal pressure put on the chips. I don’t know what might happen if not added. It might make no difference or it could affect the components cooling efficiency (long term).

@@LifeHackerMax it's just that, before finding this video, I did the thermal paste change of my ps4 slim, so at some point that metal thing fell off and didn't knew were to put it so I didn't set it back. Then I had overheating problems with my ps4, to level that when starting the game, it shutdown and it was heating a lot. I was running over my head what that could be, as the thermal paste I applied made sure to add a proper amount that covered perfectly. I didn't, by accident or anything, removed the thermal pads. So then only think I could think was related to that metal thing.
So, only in your video that I found, explains where it should be and how to properly set it back.
Thank you a lot man, for this video and explanation. As soon as I can correct that, will let know my findings. I find the video and what you answered here really helpful

@@luispresuel3499 thank you! Maybe your story will help others as well. Please let us know if you correct the problem and if that changes everything with the heating issue. I have an idea that might help: you can use a normal nut that fits the screw and fix it with a bit of super glue in the right place. Be careful though. Good luck 🍀.
