The speech wasn't ghost written btw, it's all Namjoon's words from the heart. He said he was so nervous his hands were shaking. You can see it in some close ups as well. It says a lot that this articulate young man spoke more passionately and poetically that any American politician in office today. I'm hoping he gets into politics after BTS, it would be a shame for such an incredible, wise young voice be quiet after stardom.

They’ve actually raised over $1 million for their End Violence campaign with UNICEF and have some other projects in the works like helping to provide education and jobs for children and young adults. Just amazing.
Not only BTS already raised more than 1 million (1/2 mil was initial donation from BTS), bts signed the contract that all 3% of ALL 3 Love yourself albums profit AND 100% of All BTS Goods profit are being donated to UNICEF for this such positive, inspiring campaign called #EndViolence or Love myself. One more reason to love BTS😘💜

i like your discussion about the speech at the end! you really understood namjoon's speech and why he said what he said and bts' influence on the world. antis liked to undermine them but saying his speech was "selfish" or that it was "cliche" but in reality, namjoon was speaking for himself bc he literally said IN THE SPEECH ITSELF to speak for yourself and find your own name. and the fact that its not a cliche topic - like you guys said, in todays society, people always want validation from others especially in the world of social media at a young age, but we should all first learn to love ourselves for who we are. love this :) thanks guys!!

RM is my bias as well. And THANK YOU for recognizing the fact that he gave that powerful of a speech in a language that is a secondary language. This message is very important. I'm an old fan and I don't love myself at all, but because of their message, I've been slowly trying. It's not easy by any means, but I think loving yourself is an important message for people regards of age.

He wrote and practiced this speech during the North American leg of their gruelling tour. BTS just finished three nights in Hamilton (near Toronto) in Canada. They crossed the border that night and was at the UN assembly in New York early the next day looking crisp and professional. I saw them at that last Hamilton concert and witnessed their >100% effort. They didn’t short change their performance even though they had a distance to travel and a big day the next day. I have so much respect for BTS and especially RM for so many reasons but watching RM make this speech when I was still blurry-eyed the next day just brought my respect to another level. How he managed to write, practice, and manage his fears and nerves to be so successful with this speech is is awe-inspiring to imagine. Thank you for your comments and obvious respect for these guys. I may be late in watching your reaction but it made my night and you have yourself a new subscriber.
I love this! And I love the fact that a percentage from all of the albums in the Love Yourself series has went to their UNICEF Love Myself campaign to help end violence against children all over the world. Their Love Yourself albums alone has raised over 1 million dollars for their UNICEF Love Myself campaign to end violence against kids and that's not including all the other donations made from their fans and allies. They are among some of the rare celebrities who are putting their money where there mouth is. They aren't just talking about helping people...they have actually taken steps to help people and that is so awesome. I'm so happy that The UN has recognized the impact that BTS had all over the world and the importance of their Love Yourself message. BTS is now also apart of The UN's Youth2030 campaign which has a goal to help young people all over the world up to the age of 24 with education, job training, job placement, healthcare, discrimination, inequality and to end sexual and domestic violence of all sorts. This truly is awesome.
The BTS is not just promoting “ Love Yourself “ campaign but being their partner and donating 10% of profits of their album & tour to this cause but did not even speak about it !!! They are genuinely really great guys!!!

Namjoon is so articulate and poetic and it’s insane that he did this is a language that he taught himself and isn’t his native language. So much respect for him. I can’t listen to this speech without crying. It might seem simple to some but the journey of self love and self acceptance is one of the hardest and something everyone can relate to. I hope they include this speech as a track on their next album like they did for his BBMAs speech on their LY Her album. I would listen to this every morning on the way to work for inspiration. I’m so grateful for Bangtan. They bring so much light and good to the world. 💜

BTS and their music specifically has helped me, inspired me to believe in myself. The things I didn't want to admit. Like marathon, though there's anxeity to get to the finish line. BTS' say it's ok to stop but pushes you to continue and finish the race. My inisight on one of their songs - Paradise. You may think it's crazy that they could affect someone's life so intensely with positivity. But it is true for me. I myself dealt with my own prejudice of what BTS was when I first saw them, but when I finally heard them, learned their songs and lyrics, such sincerity Which I couldn't resist. Finally, I got out of looking at things in a stereotype perspective. I now, look at things and people with open mind as I have experienced it myself, caught on being judgmental of BTS at first and whole heartedly felt sorry that I did. Now, I am a proud ARMY. Proud that I am enjoying healthy, healing, powerful music from BTS. No matter what people say, I know, through their music which has touched my heart. That one day, they will touch yours too.

Could you guys react to the "Koreans explain BTS songs" series please, it's two korean american guys (their channel is DKDKTV) and they explain some BTS (and other K-pop songs) like Silver Spoon, Ddaeng, Epiphany etc. It is in English so that non Korean speakers can understand all the world play and cultural references used in their songs. I have stan or being fans of many artist all my life. But BTS is one that makes me trully feels, like... I follow the right people.. Not just for my "fun" time, entermaiment, but actually the right people.. To walk along and learn about life.
