RM is the man! Let me know what you think of his public speaking skills :) Click the link in the description to see my extended/uncut reaction (20 minutes).
the only part of your reaction was where you skipped over where he speaks using words "your gender identity" or even color of skin ... do not matter as he & BTS want to hear from everyone ... that part of his speech was extremely important • a defining moment for many around the world. Historical for a person from a country that does not allow openness. The leaders of his country...S Korea ... were there. In fact the guys sat next to them. But even knowing they were there RM spoke his mind & did not hold back. Otherwise enjoyed what you saw out of our leader. That's how we perceive RM • Our Leader. Eager to see more from you. What I love about Namjoon is that his confidence is not domineering; it is warm, inviting and humble. I can tell he practiced giving this speech in his room to a mirror thousands of times only because he is vulnerable and very much prone to making mistakes like all of us. Something about his attitude says 'I know I might fail, but I have no option other than to do my very best'. Thanks for this Max, I enjoyed your analysis! Edit: Thanks for the 1.3K likes!
I don't know if anyone ever said this but, RM is the literal bridge between the West and BTS. Without him and his constant translations between the western audiences and their group as well as his hardwork and dedication to maintaining a beautiful harmony among his brothers, BTS would not be able to crack the narrow-minded bubble that is the American music industry. I look up to him so much and I'm so proud of him and the group.

Also RM has a deeper tone, from my observations in human behaviour people gravitate leadership from men who have deeper voices, i think it comes back to that relaxed calm in control attitude that people feel safe around leaders.
I came here waiting to see more of your thoughts on BTS and I left with a bunch of helpful tips for my presentations, that's why I love your Bts reactions. I always end learning something
This speech empowers me each time I hear it. You should definitely check out more of his speeches, especially the ones he does on stage. He always has a way of making us feel connected and of course cry. He can be a very emotional thinker when he speaks, always speaking his words with the thought of others in mind. That's our leader RM 🥺💜
namjoon get more confidence by having jin by his side, we saw that so many times, like namjoon asking jin "pls stay by my side" on billboard. I like their dynamics as leader and eldest
When Namjoon later talked about this speech he mentioned how nervous he was, that when he started the speech he started a bit too early and his hands were even shaking! I love knowing this because it becomes even more clear that the power in his speaking presence comes not from simple confidence or from being accustomed to doing it, but from conviction: he truly believes in what he has to say, and the way that shines through is just so special and captivating
RM mainly has 2 nicknames: - 'God of destruction' because he's very clumsy and often breaks stuff or create a mess - and 'Our president' because he's so eloquent and yet genuine
To people outside of Army they’ll be confused why we call our leader god of destruction and our president at the same time, from an outside perspective it seems crazy but we love him 😂
Rapmon as JK would say I remember him saying he was shaking but It really doesn’t show He is that cool I am always impressed how he shares with us how fragile and vulnerable a person can be even if that person looks so confident from the outside
stop calling him god of destruction, please. he has mentioned many times he hates when people call him that and he's insecure about it. making fun of someone's insecurity isn't great.
@@knjsfx2817 He said it himself on Jimmy fallon, so on American national television, how clumsy he is... So it's nothing he hasn't said himself 🙃 We love this side of him too, it's part of his charm. What about the “no matter who you are, where you’re from, your skin color, your gender indentity, just speak yourself” ? That was my favourite part of the speach .I’ve memorised it by heart lol
He was very nervous, and a little stiff, but he did great. You probably wouldn't know, but, there are multiple lines of this speech that are (translated) quotes/references of lyrics written by RM in different songs. I thought it was an interesting choice, to include lines from their own songs on this type of speech. If I remember well, the UN's general direction/request for the speech was: to tell a story about their own experience. RM said he was very nervous because the room was full of important people with titles... He has done many speeches in front of big crowds, but it's a different pressure in front of an academic or political audience. The members spoke a lot about how proud they were and how cool it was to see RM's speech from behind him.
rm... a rapper, a lyricist, a poet, a philosophical man with such an introspective personality, an avid reader, and with an iq of 148... the list goes on... he's really outstanding... and the use of words is rm's element. 💜 mad respect for the leader.

The speeches he makes on stage when he's in the presence of us, his and i quote, "people," he is somehow even more impactful. Namjoon is such a confident man, on and off stage! I can listen to him speak for hours and not getting bored at all. Every time he speaks, its like he is reading a personal letter to the every person present in the audience. I love this man too much to put into words..
This speech always amazes me because in behind the scenes, Namjoon says that his hand holding the paper was shaking from how nervous he was but he hides it so well and comes across so stable and confident.
No matter how many times i see this speech, i'll always feel the same feeling when i saw it for the first time. Namjoon is an amazing person who inspires me to be a better person 💜
Namjoon's UN speech never fails to impressed me no matter how many time I watch it. As a recommendation if you want to react more of namjoon's speech you can look up his ments from their concerts. I think you can see him more in his element from those ments.
RM being a rapper knows when to slow down and when to pick up pace... He is a performer through and through! The other members were upset they couldn't help RM with his speech but being there on stage with fond smiles was a big support 💜💜
THIS beautiful, young MAN, KIM NAM JOON speaks of BTS’ MISSION: to LOVE, KNOW, SPEAK YOURSELF in a world that judges based on superficial grounds instead of genuine character, wisdom, heart and soul. GOD HAS BLESSED THEM TREMENDOUSLY with GIFTS OF DANCE, MUSIC, RAP, COMMUNICATION SKILLS BEYOND MEASURE AND I PRAY WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO and that they WILL REALIZE THIS AS FACT. HONORED to have the PRIVILEGE to partake in these talents shared by THE WORLD’s NEWEST YOUNG ARTISTS!

I always shed a tear when I see RM give this speech and the pride on the faces of the other members. His words are always special, both in and out of music!
My favorite part of RM's speech was "No one called out my name and neither did I." That just hit me so hard. If we are not championing and cheering for ourselves than who else will do it?
He was so nervous and if you pay attention you can even see his hands shaking but he still did an amazing job😭 he is so talented and his words are just so inspiring and genuine🥺
These reactions/analysis vids are so interesting! I feel like because of you, I have learned or realized a lot about bts that I didn't know before. RM has said that he was super nervous during this speech. I think that he and bts as a group have an important message and would love if you watched more of RM's speeches from the concerts. I feel like you would also enjoy seeing them on stage in their full stage persona :D Thank you for making these videos! They really make my and many other ARMYs day!
I am loving your reactions and analysis of BTS so much. Seeing how you reacted to RM's speech to the UN actually made me tear up, and it is a rare occasion that I become emotional! Thank you for your videos and reacting positively to the boys' content, especially the run episode! I had so much fun watching you react to their 'other side' ! :) 💜🧡🤍💛
You saying that when people take pauses it means that they are confident and believe what they're saying is important and want people to hear just made me all the more happy to hear RM say "we truly have the best fans in the world" and take a long pause afterward
A humble man, talented, kind hearted, intelligent, caring, sincere a very good leader, very supportive and loving to his members, funny and serious at times, very handsome too, and well ... He is cutely clumsy. That's RM! Who would not love this man? I Love him and Love BTS❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
There's a video showing RM rehearsing his speech, in the presence of his band mates. I can see no vocal coach there, only RM rehearsing passionately. He has no ghostwriter or assisted somehow by an expert speech writer. Considering as well that he learned English by watching only 'Friends' and being a book-worm, despite his very busy schedules. Thank you
While rehearsing last minute there never is the vocal coach nor the writer of the speech. Surly he has both. He is quite good in speaking english, but writing a speech requires an extended speech level.
Everytime I watch the speech it bring me to tears. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's Namjoon's sincerity or the weight of his words that get to me. Maybe it's both. All I know is that he makes reevaluate my life after listening to him speak and that I'm capable of accomplishing a goal if I proposed it to myself. I'm so proud of him in so many level
I was so proud of them, and especially of RM, for this. They did a behind the scenes video of RM practicing for the speech and the members' being at the UN. RM actually incorporated a lot of BTS's song lyrics and themes into this speech too. I remember that *USA Today* covered this in one of their #JustTheFAQs videos titled, _How BTS and K-Pop disrupted mainstream politics,_ soon after and claimed RM's speech to be the most powerful spoken at the event.
I'm tearing up man this speech was the reason my aunt started supporting me in loving what I love. And listening to u applauding this jes makes me feel warm and accepted
I've seen many professional reactions videos of other skills they have like dance, rap, singing, performance, but I've been waitng ages for a video like this. This was the moment that made me an Army bc it's my dream to be at the UN someday, and watching Namjoon there and giving an incredible speech made me respect them so much. He and they empower me💖 Thanks for the video, I will keep watching your channel
This speech makes me emotional every single time. When RM say that he want to know me, he want me to speak myself O believe that I can love myself and speak myself, I believe because he makes me feel important. BTS make every army feel that we all matter and that's why they ate there representing the youth. Being young and listen to this and the rest of their message and content is revolutionary.
He said he was shaking when he was giving that speech😂but he did so well, I'm so proud. At the very least he's setting a good example for us armies to discover and stand for ourselves💜
When RM made this speech he may have been 24 but only just, since is birthday is 12 Sept. I agree that he was using his notes, but I think that was a little more in the early parts of his time - he was Extremely Nervous, and going over and over the speech both on the plane and in the waiting room - but his nerves hardly show. Yes he IS a performer - and had at that time been performing for at least 8 or 9 years, whether with BTS or on the underground rap scene in Seoul. And, as for vulnerability, any ARMY can tell you - this is BTS, this is exactly what BTS do, in every song, every statement to fans, every Vlive, pretty much every performance. We've seen tears, and joy, immense affection for their members and their fans, almost without filter. Suga - one of the hardest rappers around, who can cut you down with a one-liner in a heartbeat, laughed at by the band when he is very uncomfortable with expressions of affection - sobbing on stage, prostrated in a formal bow to his family because he noticed them in the audience, V weeping as he told fans of the anniversary of his the death of his grandmother, every member, weeping at awards shows, Jin (who never cries - almost) quietly weeping as he talked about the time they nearly disbanded, and song after song after song in which they share feelings of fear, pain, grief, depression, mental ill health, loneliness, and the relief that they have had, though all that, each other and ARMY. BTS do vulnerability in spades. But they also make that vulnerability a strength, and make it uplifting. Vulnerability can be mis-used as well as abused. Used correctly, it is powerfully strong, it can form an embrace. BTS does it right.
I know you're a communication expert but after watching you getting to know BTS I really hope you'll make a video about one of their performances. Because that's when they're truly in their element and it'd be amazing to see what your take away from that would be, especially since you're still new to their content. Thanks for the great videos and insights! :)
I watched this right around the time I became a fan, and looking back at this speech for the first time in a couple of years was intense. He is so, so good and I do appreciate everything you pointed out. I am also a public speaker and your tips will help me hone a bit more. I feel pressured to speak quickly on camera but it’s not really me, so thank you for the reminder to slow down. Also, point 3 - maybe check out their graduation speeches they did for the class of 2020 for TH-cam? That way you could see all 7 members speak.
Thank you so much for the tips and breakdown on public speaking! It was even more helpful that it was in a BTS content since they are my inspiration, motivation, and support in what I do. I have terrible anxiety when speaking to an audience but I will always remind myself that "BTS can do it, so can I." and I brace myself to speak out and speak for myself. Your breakdowns help me figure out what I need to do to give out the best of my presentation. That speech was just so amazing and it empowers me every time to listen to it. RM is such an amazing leader, no matter how clumsy and cute he can be too. Thank you so much for reacting to BTS and I hope there will be more BTS reactions to come!
Good evening, I'm only starting to watch your reactions now and they're fantastic. I think I'll watch them all because you really understood how our kids are, 💜greetings from Italy 🇮🇹
I love rm and he’s just an amazing leader. I remember seeing a clip on yt of him trying to memerize as much of the speech as he could because he didn’t want to be looking down all the time. As a leader and performer, he knows that eye contact is key when you want to make a point, convey a message, and really get your listeners engaged and so he didn’t want to be looking at his paper too much.
Namjoon is such a genuine and compassionate person. Some of his speeches at concerts are moving. “Like a rainbow, I don’t care if you are red, orange, green, purple, whatever. I love you!” He is someone I truly admire. Not just because of his talent and hard work, but the way he carries him self. His genuine love and kind heart is hard to come by.
I kept on rewinding this speech of RM and indeed I can say that truly he is gifted! I am so impressed the way he delivers his message and the content of his speech. Kudos to Bighit for having this group! 🙌👍
It'd be really cool to do their concert end ments (the improvised speeches they do at the end of their concerts). Wembley, city field and 5th Muster are some that are very cool. Army look forward to their ments as much as their songs!

Please watch their speech for the 75th UN General Assembly. They all spoke and it felt so honest and real. They are amazing people. 💜🙏🏻
we love him so much- he elevates their reputation in the best way.
RM got a good public speaking skills, he chose the right words to deliver it. A true leader indeed.
I have so much respect for Namjoon, seriously.
Namjoon's UN speech never fails to impressed me no matter how many time I watch it. As a recommendation if you want to react more of namjoon's speech you can look up his ments from their concerts. I think you can see him more in his element from those ments.
My bias right there! Yes, RM is definitely the man. I am always proud of him and the guys. Love watching your reactions and analyses of these.
He's an incredible leader indeed! I really liked how you give us public speaking tips too. I'd love to see your take on their 2018 MAMA award speech. I am in awe of how vulnerable and authentic they all are! This speech will also show you more of the personalities of the other members!
Hear, hear! Yes, you should definitely check out that speech!! It was so raw and vulnerable!
Oh YES, PLEASE!!
I really appreciate your reaction! Your comments were so helpful, especially as I prepare to give a presentation this weekend. ☺️💜 Thank you.
Happy to hear :) Good luck with your presentation!
It's so funny that he doesn't think he's mature enough. It was mindblowing to hear that.
This speech made me get goosebumps and made me proud to be an Army. Korean’s youth day speech might be another one to watch.
Still has goosebumos even i have watched this a hundred times.. so proud of them especially Namjoon
*cries over a reaction/commentary video*
this speech is just so emotionally charged, i love joon sm agh
I always shed a tear when I see RM give this speech and the pride on the faces of the other members. His words are always special, both in and out of music!
My favorite part of RM's speech was "No one called out my name and neither did I." That just hit me so hard. If we are not championing and cheering for ourselves than who else will do it?
this speech is such a hug
He was so nervous and if you pay attention you can even see his hands shaking but he still did an amazing job😭 he is so talented and his words are just so inspiring and genuine🥺
These reactions/analysis vids are so interesting! I feel like because of you, I have learned or realized a lot about bts that I didn't know before. RM has said that he was super nervous during this speech. I think that he and bts as a group have an important message and would love if you watched more of RM's speeches from the concerts. I feel like you would also enjoy seeing them on stage in their full stage persona :D
Thank you for making these videos!
Thanks Vicky! So glad you’re loving the content :)
You should watch the behind the scenes of him preparing for this speech. It’s wonderful watching him prepare and the members supporting him
If somebody wants to watch it, here is the link: th-cam.com/video/YqYlBeZEQak/w-d-xo.html
Even after all these years, I am still in awe of Namjoon and this speech. Mad respect to the leader of the biggest musical group, Kim Namjoon.
I truly believe that the greatest, most important work Namjoon may do in his life will not be limited to music.
He memorized it alot. And was very nervous. He said after. He's an amazing speaker, writer and performer. He's an amazing leader.
I’m sure someone already said but they’ve done another UN speech and they had a Korea’s Youth Day speech that are similar in feeling if interest!
He and they empower me💖
Thanks for the video, I will keep watching your channel
This speech makes me emotional every single time. When RM say that he want to know me, he want me to speak myself O believe that I can love myself and speak myself, I believe because he makes me feel important. BTS make every army feel that we all matter and that's why they ate there representing the youth. Being young and listen to this and the rest of their message and content is revolutionary.
“my man, rm” lolll you’re a cool guy, i love your reactions
He said he was shaking when he was giving that speech😂but he did so well, I'm so proud. At the very least he's setting a good example for us armies to discover and stand for ourselves💜
This speech is incredible. Objectively speaking, he did very well.
He's amazing. Joon deserves all the love
this lil analyses was so freaking cool to watch! thank you so much for making this video ♡♡
he still looks so amazing even though in reality he once said that he was very nervous and even his hands were shaking when he read his speech..
This is our leader namjoon❤
We call him Mr : president 💗
Iam so proud and admire him 🖇
I watched this right around the time I became a fan, and looking back at this speech for the first time in a couple of years was intense.
"You should be proud' as an older ARMY, I'm SO proud of him and the rest of BTS
Thank you so much for the tips and breakdown on public speaking! It was even more helpful that it was in a BTS content since they are my inspiration, motivation, and support in what I do. I have terrible anxiety when speaking to an audience but I will always remind myself that "BTS can do it, so can I." and I brace myself to speak out and speak for myself. Your breakdowns help me figure out what I need to do to give out the best of my presentation. That speech was just so amazing and it empowers me every time to listen to it. RM is such an amazing leader, no matter how clumsy and cute he can be too. Thank you so much for reacting to BTS and I hope there will be more BTS reactions to come!
the members always they don't know what they would be doing without rm, especially in america and have deep admiration and love for him
Good evening, I'm only starting to watch your reactions now and they're fantastic.
When you said "he should be proud" I thought for sure you were going to say "he should be president".
This UN speech video always makes me tear up. Not only it moves me everytime, it also makes me unbelievebly proud of him TT TT
He's voice unbelievable 💘
Namjoon is such a genuine and compassionate person. Some of his speeches at concerts are moving. “Like a rainbow, I don’t care if you are red, orange, green, purple, whatever. I love you!” He is someone I truly admire. Not just because of his talent and hard work, but the way he carries him self. His genuine love and kind heart is hard to come by.
I really love watching all your BTS content. Everything you have to say is very insightful, so thank you for reacting to them.
Yes..It was the first time I saw his speech and I smiled when RM smiles during that speech ✨💜 Loving this reaction and it is so genuine and detailed.
I'm so happy people are admiring namjoon more and more. He's been my ultimate bias since they debuted with no more dream :')
I kept on rewinding this speech of RM and indeed I can say that truly he is gifted! I am so impressed the way he delivers his message and the content of his speech. Kudos to Bighit for having this group! 🙌👍
Imagine having to give a speech in front of the UN but in a different language from your native tongue. My bias RM...
this speech was amazing- so iconic, will be forever remembered
It'd be really cool to do their concert end ments (the improvised speeches they do at the end of their concerts). Wembley, city field and 5th Muster are some that are very cool. Army look forward to their ments as much as their songs!
Agreed with Jungkook: RM's best feature is his brain. Love this brilliant man so much💜
