    I noticed most dropper levers without bearing are about 30 to 38 grams all in all.
    I fabricated one which is extremely minimalist using only leverage and cable tension, lile the basic trans x remote, made from one block of 7075 al alloy, no bearing only a stainless pin in a delrin sleeve bush, not only it is extremely smooth but it's also 31.5 grams 😂
    Cost might be prohibitive to some without a machine shop but it costed me about 12$ to make lol

    My canadian friend. Just to let u know that following your recomendation i bought and tested today the oneup unit (spec ii clamp) and liked it very much. It is a nice upgrade from my giant dropper that had a pretty crappy trigger very similar to the one on your orange trance. Thanks 4 your help

    Today I finally installed the One Up remote. I'm yet to take the bike for a more serious spin, but in the short test I did after installing the little thing is nothing short of amazing, so very smooth to operate and next to perfect ergonomics IMO. Light years ahead of the piece of crap that came standard with my bike, the dropper post is fine (Canyon's brand), but the lever was abysmal.
    Your video really helped me decide, thanks!

    Nice comparison. I bought one-up V2 in sram mount option and it was terrifying close to the grip! Despite the fact of having 3 position holes, they were not enough. I regreted to haven't choice 22mm clamp. The solution was to change the joint piece by an old right mounting piece of an old sram right lever. This gaved me almost 15-20mm of lateral displacement

      Pedro Pastor I found the exact same thing and posted images of it on mtbr because they said it’s the same distance as the reverb x1 remote where it clearly if longer and rubbed my thumb even in the furthest in position. Good build quality but ergonomics are off in my opinion. I returned it for the wolf tooth and couldn’t be happier, works great with the oneup v2 post (which is an awesome post).

    Good review as always. I have the V2 oneup w/ bar clamp just like you presented and I love it. No problems and I feel no need to switch/upgrade. That said I had two V1 oneup remotes break on me so I was happy to see they came out with a metal one. Worth the weight.

    I tried to like the wolf tooth but the EV, LA version exposed my hand to the fairly rough/sharp/scratchy CNC aluminum lever and it kept gauging my skin. Going to return it and try the one up as it looks smoother and less likely to “bite”.

    I’ll take the wolf tooth CNC finish over a cast aluminum finish any day. I don’t know how a cheap casting could be mistaken as a higher quality finish when it isn’t for stems, cranks chainrings or any other aluminum part.

    Why are they all so expensive??? I picked up a Giant brand remote that was under $30. Seems to work just fine.

    • @sebastianjost
      @sebastianjost 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can buy the OneUp remote for 30$ without an adapter for installation and buy an adapter or bar clamp somewhere else for quite a lot less.
      I bought i-spec II Adapters for my GX shifter that came in a two pack (left and right) for less than 10$.
      Therefor I have a fitting bar clamp from my shifter left over and have the i-spec II Adapter where I mounted the OneUp lever.
      This lever has the exact same attachments as SRAM Eagle shifters.
      I had a cheaper dropper lever before that had a lot of vertical play and felt really cheap all around. This OneUp lever feels very solid with absolutely no play in any direction. It doesn't look, feel or cost like a premium product but you never really see it anyways as it's under the handlebar and brake lever. It's a great product at an at least somewhat reasonable price.

      @@LoveMTB it seems very nice. The grooves may be a little bit too deep without gloves, otherwise I like everything about it.
      I have tensioned the cable a bit more than usual to get less movement in the lever until the dropper activates, that seems to work very well too.

      Finally I have a new rear wheel and have been able to ride for the first time with a dropper post.

    • @pedalstrikemtb5830
      @pedalstrikemtb5830 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use the WT featured here on a KS Lev Integra, internal frame routing, and it works brilliantly. External frame routing should be no different because neither end of the internal wire cable itself needs a nipple and is instead clammed at both the lever and the post ends. Since all the levers featured here are almost identical I’d assume yes would be the answer.
