James Camper I’m a muslim and I have to agree on Alex on this debate, just this particular debate. I think Hijap completely misunderstood Alex’s statement. In any debate it’s always important to understand the other person and listen. Hijab, I do admire him for his knowledge but when it comes to debates he is already fixed in what he believes in. I think he should have listened to Alex a lot more. I’m a muslim, I don’t agree with everything Hijab has said in the Oxford debate. I’ve seen much better debates from muslims who actually listens to their opponents.
It is depressing how many times I have heard this analogy when used to describe a theist debating an atheist. It is like theists feel the need to lie instead of just admitting they have something wrong.
Are we all being re-recommended this video, because as I began going through comments, I saw recent comments and was laughing. Loving all the recent engagements with Alex, and seeing him show up in more places.
Lol guys, urs is all hate. U cant just accept the reality. Keep being morale atheist, very logical persons 🤣🤣 why instead of blaming each other like this dont we live together with all our con ceptions and misconceptions, than after death we are all gonna aree what is right and what is wrong. I mean, u artheis guys are so funny. Il make an example of you... so, there a banana on the table in a house in Iceland ok? What attestato do is refuse to accept the fact that the banana is actually there just because u dont see it;the fact is that u rejecting this fact or not makes not difference, because the banana always has been there and it is still. This same example we can use it to describe you atheist guys... u just dont like the fact that there is a creator and that he is gonna a judge you in the end of time, thats all, so u guys try in every way to put shit on people who believe in this so that ur toughts make sense for 1 time. U guys know it, in the deepest part of ur brain, that Islam is the truth, and no one ia gonna escape the power of God. Not randomly He said that if ALL ( humans and jinns) were to Pray for him, he's not gonna get bigger in any shape or form. At the same time, if ALL (humans and jinn) were to sin day after day non-stop,his kingdom will always remain the same. The pointer is that he doesnt even need you, even ur prayer, even your good deeds. U gotta care about him indeed, because u are just a useless human being, u are gonna a die 1 day and most important u dont even know what is going to happening to your Body and Soul, but you guys can well refuse the existance of a Creatore XD cringe no? So he doesnt need you and ur atheist mentality. The ones who are gonna pay for disbelievening are you, so if u are happy with this material life and ur evil doeings, well, than enjoy until u can, cuz time is short, im sure u remeber when u were 10 years old as it was yesterday... 60 years old are coming soon, if u reach them. Death is close, keep ur eyes open, have a good one.
@@morad6690 bro your example is simply bad. for example, what evidences are there that the banana is inside the house? i mean you say it yourself, I cant see the banana inside the house. so I would need some kind of prove like a photo to make me belief that claim. the problem is this, you guys cant give us any concrete evidence that the banana exist in that house and yet you want us to believe it simply because you guys said that the banana is inside the house. that's just outrageous. and pls, how do you know that Islam is the correct religion. even if we atheists are wrong, based on simple probability, i can confidently bet that Islam is wrong.

Alex, you are claiming that Mohammed Hijab has been exposed. That is an active claim. Tell me how it is possible metaphysically, cosmologicaly , ontologicaly , from first principles. Give me the answers please.

Mohammed Hijab said, and i quote "when the universe came into existance, it well and truly came into existence out of nothing" . Crazy that he changed his mind so quickly
That dosent contradict İslam. The part that differed is how it came from nothing. Us Muslims beleive that the universe was created by God from absolutely nothing, and an athiest would beleive the big bang theory, meaning that it was created from nothing, but without god. Which is simply illogical
Next debate between Alex and Hijab: Hijab takes a piece of paper and writes "GOD" on it. Hijab: Do you believe this piece of paper exist? Alex: Yes. Hijab: BREAKING NEWS. PROMINENT ATHEIST CONCEDES HE BELIEVES GOD EXISTS
You’ll never get an apology from him. He oozes arrogance and seems incapable of humility. My judge of character on these debates is who’s transparent and who is dishonest. It’s obvious in this case
This is infuriating. It's disingenuous and intellectually bankrupt and it's deceptive. No matter who wins or loses the debate, one should at least have the decency and courtesy to show it unadulterated so as to allow the viewers to come to their own conclusion. What makes it worse, is to misrepresent one's interlocutor by editing and totally strawmanning them; following up by posting a clickbait title. It's hard to respect someone who behaves in this way and then pretends that the victim of one's deception is being defensive or conceited.
@chocobonita I get that, and I agree, but in the context of basic decency with your interlocutor, it's still shockingly bad. I'm sure there are many Islamic apologists that are more consistent than this guy. You can see the antagonism in his body language as he's debating
@@BlackStarXx11xX Alex and most atheists never make that claim. @@BlackStarXx11xX just because atheists can't quite explain the origins of the universe, it doesn't fall that only explanation can be a creative intelligence. What you've just committed there is a 'Black and White' fallacy. This is not a binary discussion. Even if it were true that there were some kind of creative intelligence, how do you get from that to the concept of Jinns and Angels and the Heaven and Hell system; with an all powerful creator that governs every system? Secondly, the something from nothing argument is especially weak and is a misunderstanding of current physics. If you look at Lawrence Krauss' work, he makes it very clear what the so-called 'nothing' is using Quantum Mechanics. I find it hypocritical that theists often expect their interlocutors to have read up on everything about their respective religions before passing comment, yet make out of context, misinformed generalisations about beliefs diametrically opposed to theirs. It's a level of intellectual inconsistency and dishonesty that needs to stop
0x777 well I would expect them - by which I mean demand, not necessarily trust them to - to at least have the basic decency of not doing any of the things Mohammed Hijab is guilty of doing in this prime example of disingenuousness. I don’t get why you would even engage in a discussion if you’re not open to learn something new. Same goes for a debate. You can make your point but you have to consider your opponents view as well - and do so in an honest way.
@@farmuhqas With the difference that my statement was not thoghtless but can be shown to actually be quite logical. A religious person literally puts their life on the line when debating religion. They are invested in their position with pretty much their whole life adjusted and aligned along the idea that there is a specific deity or pantheon and that if this was not true, they would not only lose the meaning in their life but also they would lose the support of their peers, likely their friends and family, maybe even their income. Losing a debate in a devastating way could very well mean their end. How many irreligious people do you know who are that invested in "atheism"? Personally, I'm not. If you could field a logical argument for a god, hey, ok, so I'll believe. So far, nobody has brought one up that could be considered sensible, but I'm not adverse to keep trying. I have no stake in the game, technically, because I wouldn't lose anything if I was shown to be wrong. If anything, I could win that way. And now your argument for why you cannot expect a honest debate with an irreligious person.

Which is how most apologists (and many politicians) work. They know arguments from the opposition and they and their team work out a counter strategy and test them with test audiences. They keep those that gives them the best reaction. Then they "listen" during a debate for keywords and regurgitate their prepared soundbites, even if they're out of context of what was actually being said. That is because their answers usually contain a strawman or two that is then dismantled. Apologists (and many politicians) are the most dishonest people you can ever meet.

I guess u get it wrong. Despite the fantastic narrative, which is actually secondary, the primary function/ purpose of monotheistic religions is to establish good and evil. It leads to a though that everything was created by someone and purposed for sth. Simple as ..ck. On the other hand magic is all about the fantastic stories.
@@prostoname5338 "the primary function/ purpose of monotheistic religions is to establish good and evil" that is your interpretation of the purpose of why those religions were made. The most likely purpose of the invention of most monotheistic religions was to have political control over the people. It is easier to enforce law under one God, in contrast to enforcing law when there are multiple Gods that might even stand for different things. Not to mention that is completely irrelevant, the purpose of something does not in any way affect its veracity. Not to mention, that how do you even know what is the purpose of all monotheistic religions, and how do you know what is the purpose of magic. It is nothing but an over generalization based on a personal and completely subjective interpretation of both, in the purpose to separate both in terms of narrative when the narrative was never in question, but its veracity. Purpose is entirely irrelevant when both are equally fantastical. Unless purpose adds veracity somehow, but if that was the case then it would add veracity to all myths and legends. Which would prove God as much as it would prove Zeus, and every other single God, therefore making Monotheistic religions false because they claim to be the only one.

Growing up in an Islamic state, I often encountered this type of "logic" from muslim "intellectuals." While watching the debate, I could sometimes even anticipate Mohammed Hijab's next moves. What surprised me more was your amazement at his arguments rather than the arguments themselves. In another one of your videos, you pointed out certain drawbacks in Hitchens' debates, including his skillful use of humor and charm to create an impression of correctness even when he was not. In my opinion, this was actually one of his strengths. When dealing with individuals who behave like unruly children, throwing tantrums, kicking, shouting, and interrupting, you don't reason with them; you give them a timeout. Hitchens was a master at using his wit and charm to give these kinds of people a well-deserved timeout.

As a muslim, that's a very funny and accurate impression haha. But ofc I have to make my stance clear... This one sided review where he can prepare arguments to back up his arguments isnt a fair, or respectable thing to do. I think a review where he reviews his own conduct and arguments is very valid, and would be nice to see. But this is just slander, and parts are dishonest. I think he should instead accept he did poorly in the debate and evaluate why, instead of pin it all on "mohammed did this, mohammed did that, it was all rigged ! That's why I waited a year to make this video!" Though, that said, I dont approve of Mohammed's conduct during that debate.
@@TheJwaad To call whatever that thing was a debate is to make a mockery of the term. Mohammed Hijab behaved disgracefully, and making a video bringing that to our attention is not only a respectable thing to do, it is the only thing he *can* do to call attention to the dishonesty, of which you have seen proof if you’ve watched the video. If I play a game of chess against a cheater, should I “accept I did poorly in the game and evaluate why”? Of course not! I should, if I am playing in a club, report the cheater, or if playing casually, decide never to play with them again and call them out on it. I’d very much like to see which parts of this video are dishonest, because as far as I’m concerned, Alex showed enough concrete evidence to doubt Mohammed’s honesty in every section. A debate is not a game of out-wording your opponent, the goal isn’t to trick the opposition into agreeing with you.
@@thebuddercweeper plus there have been other times in which Hijab as strawmaned other people in his Videos by editing the Videos. So there is also outside evidence for his dishonesty. For example, he has a Video up where he speaks with atheists on the streets and there a few cuts to be found that convienently change the actual statements of these people.
@@thebuddercweeper I agree, it's hard to call it a debate, and that Mo behaved disgracefully. But it's a stretch too compare Mo to a cheater. Your comment implies the only thing that went on in the 2 hour original debate was Mo screaming over cosmic's every word. Though of course having seen the debate, Mo did do that a lot, but that wasn't the only thing. He responded to arguments and put forward his own (it's been a year since then so correct me if i'm wrong). So i think a more accurate analogy is you're playing a chess game, and your opponent is being noisy when you're planning your move, and distracting you, which is very crappy of them, but it's unfair to say it's the only reason you lost. (I don't think hijab won the debate though, i think the debate was just a mess) Im ofc muslim (no shock there). And in islam we have to hear both sides before we make a decision. And i won't make excuses for Mo, he can do that for himself. My issues are these: This is stuff that should be handled 1st privately, and if that doesn't work, then publically. So if this was a genuine attempt to shed light on dishonesty and underhandedness (which i agree is an important thing to do), why didn't he attempt to talk to Mo about these things 1st (privately) and instead jumped straight on making a case against him. If that wasn't the point of the video (exposing the dishonesty), and it was instead to review his own arguments (which i think is a fair thing to do, especially if you've improved or changed your stance on some arguments), then in my opinion that shouldn't be laced with mockery and derision of his "debating" partner. So basically, i like what alex says, but not how he says it. In my opinion what would have been the most grown up thing to do, would be get into contact with hijab and record a conversation about the points of "why do you censor comments", "did you purposely cut off my mic" etc, instead of speculating his reasons, and pinning those to him. But for the rest of this video, i think the points he's making in review of the debate are mostly fair, but those should be separate to his (cosmic's) claims of the underhanded business.
@@thebuddercweeper I realised i forgot to mention what was dishonest. Just briefly, cuz i think i've already typed enough of an essay in my other reply. I retract that, i think the review part of this was honest. (I can't speak on the claims of underhandedness until i hear both sides though, as said in my other comment). I do think the points cosmic makes are honest points. "Dishonest" is wrong of me to say. What i do think though, is that this format isn't a fair thing to do, a post debate one sided argument. He's saying Mo misrepresents him, and in response he's misrepresenting Mo. This is what i meant in my 1st comment, where i was saying a review would be nice, as opposed to just attacking Mo. Also why did he wait til now for this? He said that it was cuz Mo was clickbaiting and such and misrepresenting him by those, but those aren't the focus of this video, a year old debate is. EDIT: Sorry that i made this comment section an argument, the original comment was just a funny joke, but no use crying over spilt milk. th-cam.com/video/jnf6XL7Z95w/w-d-xo.html - Heres Mo's side, watch this with the intent to listen, as you did for alex, not with the intent to argue, then make a decision. I almost wish you had used some sophistry by Christopher Hitchens (but I appreciate why you do not). But this is how legends are formed. Keep putting yourself in tough situations, and you will be stronger.
‘never let the opponent choose the terrain’ ’always make sure it’s a neutral battlefield’ Bro it ain’t THAT serious lol... it’s ok, that’s not the first time someone like him flusters after looking silly during a debate and proceeds to make videos tryna justify and repair his broken position later on (1 year later in his case) All that’s missing is ‘you’re a great soldier Cosmic💂♀️’
I cannot stand watching him, I've tried he just gets under my skin, he is full of himself and arrogant!! funny thing is Muslims get offened when you dislike him to 😅😅
This ranting, interjecting kind of “debate” where one participant simply talks over the other and constantly repeats himself is just frustrating and painful to watch. It is the very obvious tactic of the obnoxious, the arrogant and the desperate. It just stonewalls any chance for an interesting conversation regardless of who you support or your personal beliefs as a viewer. The moderator did a very poor job here.
The moderator didn't do nothing as per usual as the 'fear of offense' outweighs the ability to stand up in what's right. If you challenge Hijab, he will play victim and to his supporters and say Islamphobic, you have hatred, you're racist, etc. I've had all those propositions - the religion is hate is all there, however will hide behind race and belief to justify their position by propagating more hate. Using secular values as a defense to destroy and replace with Sharia. We know the game.

You'll see a lot of comments in those channels saying things like "I'm glad I return to Islam again" or "I was so stupid when I was atheist, thankfully I reconverted to Islam", but you can't find any comment defending atheist views which is suspicious. In debate comment sections on actual neutral channels you always find comments defending both sides. Even in some non neutral channels you see comments defending both sides, like you can find comments arguing against Alex in the debates in this channel. @Humza Zakir so you see no problem with editing a debate by adding elements from one of the debaters to it while trying to make them appear as if they were part of the original one (background, clothes), without asking the other debaters or letting them know, or making the readers aware of it? You have no ethical issue with that?
Rah, we already KNOW that this video is going to spark some drama from Hijab’s cancerous community 😅 Edit: Ok, this was already explained by Alex here but I can’t help but say this: THIS VERY VIDEO has received more comments under it within two hours of posting than Hijab’s post of the original debate has in over a year... Enough said.
This man is not in debate. He is in bully mode, not debate mode. It was evident from the begining of the process. His tone, remarks, inability to listen, or let you speak.
There are different kinds of debates. A philosophical debate intends to discover the deeper truth, a political debate intends to sway the audience and a religious debate intends to recruit followers. If you want to "win" the debate, it's important to know what your goals are. Considering his goal is to retain followers from what he views as a threatening world view it makes perfect sense for him to shout it down and ignore the logical premises that his opponents put forward in order to deliver more emotional rhetoric.
So basically it's okay to lie to yourself and debate for the sake of being right instead of debating to get to the truth, it's also okay to lie about people lying, but it's not okay to ... oh wait, I think I made my point ;)
@@medsammy1237 I find people who only mention the good parts to be doing a deceitful thing albeit not always on purpose. Haha, check out his most recent video - th-cam.com/video/QDscxwf89ZU/w-d-xo.html EDIT: It looks like the video has been set to private or it's been deleted now, but the title was "Is Atheist 'Cosmic' Racist?" and it was about three minutes of Mohammed Hijab talking about how Alex might be racist and showed a clip of one of Alex and Stephan Woodford's (a.k.a. Rationality Rules) conversations where they were discussing morality. In the clip, Alex is talking about the practice of mandating that women wear a burqa in public and he referred to it as something along the lines of "forcing women into cloth bags". Somehow, Mohammed Hijab believes that this is an indication of Alex's racism.
@@vroomvrommgrrr6950 It seems unlikely to me that he holds a sincere belief that Alex is racist. I think the video is essentially an Ad Hominem on his part to avoid responding to Alex's video honestly and unfortunately he knows that his audience will take his accusation seriously without investigating much further.
I imagine arguing with people like this to be incredibly frustrating, when the other side simply isn't interested in actual conversation but just "winning" a conflict. The difference of wanting to find out the truth or understand one another to just display oneself as being correct. I am cringing so hard watching this. Hats off to you for staying calm in the debate and throughout reviewing it.
Arsalan Khalid um, so.. you’re saying he edited his video or the debate..? He obviously (maybe not to you) edited with video in order to not make it extremely long (as he had said in the video, which you would’ve known if you had watched it). But that shouldn’t even matter; the footage of the debate is there online, he can’t edit that. He just went point by point discrediting the points that Mohammed was saying. And if your little soft heart can’t handle criticism and in return decide to call him “racist” because he doesn’t agree with his beliefs then I don’t even know what to say to you. It amazes me how stubborn and ignorant people will want to be to try to defend the little bubble they are so desperate to stay in. (And if you didn’t get that either, because apparently I can’t pressure any intelligence from you, the bubble is the limited way that you perceive the world just so that it fits the way that you view the world. Which literally has nothing to do with reality. Just because you don’t like something, it doesn’t make it untrue.. or in this case, just because he doesn’t agree with his statements doesn’t make him a racist.) @@farmuhqas With the difference that my statement was not thoghtless but can be shown to actually be quite logical.
A religious person literally puts their life on the line when debating religion. It is easier to enforce law under one God, in contrast to enforcing law when there are multiple Gods that might even stand for different things.

Not to mention, that how do you even know what is the purpose of all monotheistic religions, and how do you know what is the purpose of magic. @@thebuddercweeper plus there have been other times in which Hijab as strawmaned other people in his Videos by editing the Videos. So there is also outside evidence for his dishonesty.
(I don't think hijab won the debate though, i think the debate was just a mess)
Im ofc muslim (no shock there). And in islam we have to hear both sides before we make a decision. And i won't make excuses for Mo, he can do that for himself.
My issues are these:
This is stuff that should be handled 1st privately, and if that doesn't work, then publically.
In my opinion this answers to the review section of this video (this "exposing" video), but it still doesn't answer to the censorship, but i think that's a separate issue.

It just stonewalls any chance for an interesting conversation regardless of who you support or your personal beliefs as a viewer. The moderator did a very poor job here.
The moderator didn't do nothing as per usual as the 'fear of offense' outweighs the ability to stand up in what's right. Your patience when dealing with someone that rude and arrogant is something I aspire to have.
Same, I admire Alex's professionalism.

Bro couldn’t agree more, this is something even i’m trying to cultivate
I would have shouted at Mohammed saying to cut the bs and let me speak, probably throwing hands too. Can't stand people that interrupt me
@@FedericaGalli89 can't agree more 😅.
They should have these debates with whiteboards and someone who holds the power to make someone stop from speaking.

Why is it the unforgivable sin in Islam to confess " there is only one God and this is YHWH""
The Name Jesus means------------- "YHWH RESCUE"
Elijah means------------- --------------" MY GOD IS YHWH"
John means --- -----" YHWH has been gracious""
Zakariya means -----------------------""YHWH has remembered""

@Guidance Counselor Bob oh really a kid complaining or more so like pointing out the very obvious wrongs and it hurts your ego .
@Guidance Counselor Bob watch the fucking video , wdym point out . The video is in your face. Mohammad hijab deleted comments , misquoted alex several times , edited video ...etc etc ....and i was talking about Mohammad hijab's wrongs not all the muslims , u too are mis quoting me 🤣
LOL he's a joke, I remember watching that debate and i was thinking wtf why did he add in a clip of his quran recitation...HAHA PATHETIC
Me toooo . I watched it today and I was doing my dishes as I watched the video and all of a sudden I heard marabzuaaaaa 🎵, im like wtf 😆 and I bursted out laffing so hard . It was so hilarious , out of sync and extremely looong . It was a joke
@@Lady.2411 Same here. Didn't LOL but do remember thinking WTAF! I've never understood why when they're quoting the Quran, they often start that incessant drone. To a Westerner like me, it just sounds f**king awful and doesn't impress me one bit. Tuneless. There was another video Hijab's group of apologists posted that they claimed was a talk they gave at Oxford Uni. It looked totally staged. No shots of the audience, just a few of them standing behind a podium.
I need to say that: maybe he didn’t misquoted the Quoran - this quote sounded like singing - maybe he just wanted to sound better while singing that quote?! 🤔 that were the first reason for editing that I could think of - maybe because I suck at singing... 😅 but beside that I agree with everything that Alex said 🤷♀️
Me too
Mohammed Hijab: Sorry, you are talking? Nonono I don't care what you are saying right now, I'm not debating you, I'm debating your statements from 4 years ago that I also misquoted 🤦♂️

I was shocked about Muhammed Hijabs behaviour of missquoiting. But when I learned, that he didn't missqoute and you obviously show other parts of the qouted video I was more shocked and disappointed. You truly claimed, that the universe came out of nothing and didn't qoute someone. th-cam.com/video/7JibSTglpnU/w-d-xo.html
He is saying minute 14 to 15 and you show parts of the video after the 23th minute
My comment to CosmicSkeptic.
The same goes for the other video quotation
@Esben M I clearly watched the video we both comment.
Did you watch the qouted video, too?
Which minute is shown here in this video of that qouted video?
You would think he showed us 14-15 because MH Said in Minute 14-15,but he showed us 23.
Go open the qouted video and watch minute 14-15.
PS: even in his new video with William Lane Crage, Alex claims, that the universe began to exist and the only thing which came from nothing. But he claims, that not evrything, which began to exist, needs to have a cause.
@Esben M the qouted Video is called

Tell me what you see in minute 14-15 and 23 and onward.
Which one was qouted by Muhammed Hijab
Which one was shown in this commented video by Alex?
He was so horrible that I had to argue with the guy who recommended him and that video to me to prove Islam
thank you
I watched that video and I was furious with the comments
and the microphone cut off thanks for explaining.
Atheist: I have a few cans of coke in the car
Hijab: Guess who’s going to jail tonight
😂
Lool
That debate was my first introduction to Mohammed Hijab.
Never ever have I seen someone show such a school bully level of debate etiquette.
It is honestly about the only way Muslims can "appear to win" in theological debates. Arabic-speaking Christians are starting to take them on big time. And they are losing badly when they can't hide behind Arabic anymore.
I'm Muslim and I agree, he's an absolute disgrace and an unqualified embarrassment.
@@bolshoefeodor6536 Yup, Al Fadi used to be wahhabi and is doing his PhD on the Sana'a manuscript, one of the oldest extant Qur'ans. He speaks Arabic as his first language.

I’ve described Mohammed Hijab as a “used car salesman” apologist. I have been corrected. Mohammed Hijab is actually a “stolen car salesman” apologist.
