    Thank you so much for this video. I usually forget/struggle to develop my essays in AO3 because I don't know much context or how to apply it, so this may really help me to gain more marks in the exam. Your videos are really helping me with english lit revision!

      Hi Inayah! Thank you so much for your kind words. Context should only ever be a dash of what you write, at most a couple of sentences for any one point (but it’s not needed for every point.) I hope that that makes sense? Best of luck!!

    how many quotations do you need to have per point? i always struggle with that and how to weave in context

      One quote, two max! Only half a sentence per paragraph for context maximum.

      It’s so hard to know. Fred hasn’t come up often, it’ll be a hard one but possible

    Thank you for this. Ive just got obe son doing aqa liteacy and language but school is changing to eduqas for next years gcse which will affect my ither son. So is the context knowledge still required like in aqa and the authors purpose. Thank you ill be looking here for equcas mock exam help!

      Thank you Clare! Context is still required, yes. I don’t think you ever need more than a line or two when writing.

      So it's a bit of historical context and authors purpose - in aqa its all about linking it to authors purpose!
