Shigeru Miyamoto was inspired by Peter Pan when creating Link in the 80s. My theory is that the influence of both the original cartoon and the "Hook" live action movie from Disney starring Robin Williams was quintessential when building the Kokiri forest. It's logical since this is a mid 90s masterpiece and Hook was somewhere 3-4 years earlier. I can somehow picture Koji Kondo listening and taking notes and thinking "Hmm... How do I make this quirky af? Tonic, 4 semitones up then 6 semitones from tonic. Yes that's about right xD...
Thanks bro. Yeah it’s purely a sound thing. In this one I chose to pick the parts that were either percussive and palm muted or the harpsichord sounding part to make it sound more tinny. Also I wasn’t using a pick, I was using my fingernail in the style of a pick 🙂
