Body was failing but his voice never did.. Will never be another person like him...
His voice was incredible, for sure. We hope you enjoyed our reaction :)
Beautiful song and performance by Elvis x
Absolutely. We hope you stayed after the song to hear the great things we had to say about Elvis :)
It was Omaha, June 1977! We begged our dad to take us to see Elvis!
He said, "we'll go the next time he comes!" 😢We know that never happened. Heartbreaking!
I will love Elvis for my whole life!
Colleen ♥️
Oh no, I'm so sorry that happened! And yes, we agree with an undying love for Elvis
Elvis won 3 Grammys..all gospel..which I think is crazy..he had so many great songs...
I've always thought about that too. I can't believe he never won lore Grammys than he did!
Elvis 1977 How Great Thou Art is the best version of this ever performed.
We think so too. We hope you enjoyed our reaction and all the great stuff we had to say about Elvis :)
This my absolute favourite version, he was so poorly but by god did he put himself out no matter how he was struggling. Love it ❤
We totally agree, we hope you stayed after the song to hear what we said about Elvis. He was amazing.
Absolutely not the best version omg
@christopherjon1245. In your opinion it's not, but it's the best version for many other people. Different options make the world go around my friend :)
El hombre más hermoso y sensual con la voz de Dios en la tierra viva el rey 😏🥋🎤🎸👑😘
We hope you enjoyed our reaction! :)
Appreciate your commentary, it’s terrible how mean people were and still are about someone else’s struggles
@@kats72951 so glad you appreciated what we had to say. Its so strange to us that so many people can be so mean.
I also love 77’ Elvis✌️
I will talk to anyone and everyone about Elvis all day every day if possible lol
I do to😉 Even had lectures for psychologist✌️
@Snorkebogan haha, I love that so much!
I’ve seen all his versions of this song . He absolutely slays this one right at the end of his short life . They say most of us never know that day . When we’re called up . I find it hard to believe he didn’t know he couldn’t go on and the end was near . The way he laid it out there super humanly with “Unchained Melody “ then this one . Couldn’t hardly breathe and then goes operatic . Amazing.
Totally agree with everything you said. He really seemed to have an idea that he was leaving soon and he just knocked out an amazing version of this song.
What a good song and voice ❤❤
@@marnernordendal3927 just incredible vocal performance from Elvis!
Amazing Elvis ❤
We hope you enjoyed our reaction and all the great things we had to say about Elvis after the song.
Love it
Glad you enjoyed our reaction. We have a lot of Elvis videos on the channel with a lot more on the way. We always have a LOT of great things to say about Elvis after each song :)
Your analysis is spot on!
@@jeromejackson3752 thank you for saying that, we're glad you liked what we had to say :)
Well said° Awesome Awesome reaction & Thank you 😊
So glad you enjoyed the reaction and liked what we had to say. Thank you for watching and the comment :)
“Without Him” from Elvis Presley’s 1967 album How Great Thou Art is my favourite song. The song Without Him describes my life.
@@djgrant8761 we will listen to Without Him today :)
@ Take a deep dive into the gospel music of Elvis Presley as gospel music was the music he truly loved.
I (Russ) have heard a good amount of Elvis' gospel music but Lauren hasn't heard much. I know he truly loved gospel and put so much feeling into it. I will share more of it with her :)
Loved this since I was 10, now I am 54 and I listen to it almost everyday❤ still feels fresh😊
Thank you for doing this❤
You're welcome and thank you for sharing your experiences with this concert. I (Russ) am coming up on 50 years old and I listen to this era of Elvis as much as possible I just love it. Thank you for watching and thank you again for the comment :)
I love to share Elvis with people❤😉
Thank you for defending Elvis here!! No he wasn't slim and trim but he still sang like he always did!!!
You're welcome and we're so glad you enjoyed what we had to say. The mean & unnecessary things people say about him in the 70s has bothered me (Russ) my whole life.
@InfectiousGroovePodcast Absolutely me too!! After he passed all the papers came out with such accolades that they should have been giving him all the time instead of all the criticism!! It was disgusting to me. I thought to myself " WHAT HYPOCRITES YOU ALL ARE!!!
@donnaqueen8766 that happens with so many artists and I really dislike it. I was only 2 when Elvis passed away. So although I wish I had been old to see him in concert, I'm also kind of happy I didn't have to see how mean the media was to him near the end of his life.
This was such an incredible performance of this beautiful song. Elvis had a deep Fatih in God, & he knew Jesus as his Saviour, & he always included at least one, & usually two, gospel songs in his concerts, as he wanted to share that love & that faith with his fans. He really was on fire for God at this last televised show. He was gone from us just 8 weeks later, leaving the world in disbelief & grief. I have been a big fan since I was 12 in 1964, but had been following Elvis for at least 2 years before that. I have never wavered from my huge admiration for Elvis the entertainer & Elvis the humanitarian … & am lucky enough to be married to an ardent Elvis fan, who has also been a fan for sixty years … we are both now heading for our 73rd birthdays. Enjoyed your Reaction & just subbed your channel for more Elvis Reactions. Thank you.
@@davidharrison1523 thank you for sharing! Russ was only 2 when Elvis passed away and Lauren wasn't born yet but we both have such a love for Elvis. Our son is 19 and adores Elvis as well. Thank you for subbing. We have a lot of Elvis videos on the channel with more on the way :)
"How Great Thou Art" is a Christian hymn based on an original Swedish hymn entitled "O Store Gud" written in 1885 by Carl Boberg (1859-1940). The inspiration for the poem came when Boberg was walking home from church near Kronobäck, Sweden, and listening to church bells. A sudden storm got Boberg's attention, and then just as suddenly as it had made its appearance, it subsided to a peaceful calm which Boberg observed over Mönsterås Bay. The poem became matched to an old Swedish folk tune and sung in public for the first-known occasion in a church in the Swedish province of Värmland in 1888. The English version of the hymn and its title are a loose translation by the English missionary Stuart K. Hine from 1949.
Oh wow, that is interesting information. Thank you for sharing!
Fantastisk voice wauuuuv
@@marnernordendal3927 his voice was just incredible!
"Elvis tu a atteint le paradis droits ver les étoiles 😇👽💖💯💥💫👏👏 🙏🙏🙏"""""
We agree and we hope you enjoyed all the great things we said about Elvis after the song :)
old was hurtful. but when people started using the phrase "bloated" Elvis! I was offended!!!!!! i'm thinkin' I was in 12, fer sure in fifth maybe sixth grade. RIP
We agree. People have said so many hurtful things about Elvis. That's why we try to defend him to this day :)
The other was in Indianapolis, Indiana
OK, thank you. We weren't sure
Can you guys do I cant stop loving you (Las Vegas)1970
Great suggestion! We have a lot of other reactions already scheduled but we will certainly add this to the list! :)
omaha june 19th rapid city June 21st 1977 this video is June 19th 1977 the last one is June 26th 1977
Thank you for the clarification
I wish your wife gives more of a reaction
she is very new to Elvis and so she's taking a lot of this in. She listens very intently and shares a lot of her thoughts after each song. Please stay after the song is finished to listen to her observations :)
It's Funny but this 77 TV Special has never been released on DVD Or even shown on TV. Apart from when it was first shown on BBC 1 In London. 1978 I think, Not sure of the USA. All the others have been. All of them , But not this one. Rather strange.
It really bums me out that it's never been officially released. I've always heard that they don't want it released because of how he looks and that really bums me out.
@@InfectiousGroovePodcast Yes I've heard this too. But it's a different day and age now since Elvis died and everyone knows what he looked like. It's silly really cause everyone can watch it on TH-cam with its quality. Parts that is.
@colmflaherty3963 all I can do is agree with you. Maybe someday they'll release it
It bugs me too when they say the “fat Elvis”
How about Aretha Franklin when she was alive. Talk about huge.
Or John Popper from the Blues Traveler band
Anyone see the Steven Van Zandt interview with Dan Rather ?
Jelly Roll?
And a host of others
Elvis just wasn’t as popular later in life so people had nothing good to say
If you look at Elvis before going on stage standing next to Ed Parker,
Elvis isn’t that much bigger. I would argue Elvis is a bit smaller
Of course no one would call Karate champ Ed Parker fat, even though he did gain some weight himself
All we can do is agree. People have said many mean things about Elvis in his later years and it's such a double standard.
