I have a feeling mushrooms where involved. My guess is they wanted to be away from everyone so they don't have a bad trip. Sry high school days 20 years ago give or take coming to mind. But exactly rite know when and where to step in or stay away from a situation that presents itself. For mainly your safety and theirs.
Hey luke how about a list of the freeze dried food you used in this video. I know one was from Pinnacle Foods and the other is Real tarmac but I did not catch the company name of the gumbo
I love that we can see your list! What an adventure during Fred! Am glad it was nothing more than heavy rain and squall conditions. Trust me, seeing and hearing greater than 100 mph winds is something to never forget like it did in Southwest Florida during Hurricane Irma. It made me wonder if your trip home from the blow didn't encounter tree falls on the way home. With such rain in WV the roads would be blocked with downed trees with mudslides, some impassible. Had you gotten much more rain some Creeks would flood the roads. So you are a lucky guy!
I'm even not into camping. I never cared about camping. One day, on random, youtube suggested one review video from this channel. I clicked on it only because it was outside of anything similar to what TH-cam would suggest. After I saw that video, I just kept on watching. By reaching this video I realized I binge watched most of the channel. I even started to think about camping.
Yes the sound of rain is very relaxing kemosabe. I live in a small camping trailer in the Tonto Forest of Arizona. It had been raining for several days and I had just woken up to use the bathroom. I immediately noticed a spectacular waterfall coming out of the ceiling light fixture. I did a quick mental check to make sure I hadn't done any acid, and grabbed a handy 5 gal. bucket. The rain stopped before the bucket filled everything was cool. When the sun came out I got busy with a caulking gun and a paintbrush. I still love the sound of rain but it makes me nervous. What I really love is thunder and lightning.
I never comment on videos but I just wanted to reach out and say thank you. I’m a DIY backcountry hunter and you have been nothing but a wealth of knowledge for me. I’ve learned a ton from you and appreciate all that you do. Thanks again brother.
I always thought I was the only one who loved camping in the rain. There’s a peaceful solitude of just you and the rain. I did that a lot when I was very young.
I usually watch your videos at night when I am in bed but couldn't resist watching this one early. Thank you to you and your wife for bringing us quality videos. I pray you and your family continue to be safe.
This is why I loved living in South Carolina. The storms... I loved it! Out of the 2 years I lived there, there were 3 hurricanes and countless tropical storms
An ounce of prevention equals a pound of cure. I’m in the PNW, keeping the leaves blown off the roof, gutters and ditches clear, and everything ready for the random downpour. Makes the sound rain on the roof sweeter.
Love the sound of rain hitting any object thing! Windows, tin roofs, tents and car roofs!! More of this please 😍❤️ love your videos watching from Manchester uk came here from Tony and Bruce’s Chanel a few months ago been watching ever since! X
Oh wow…. I love the sound of rain on the roof. I can hear you perfectly. It is so good to be with you anytime. It is beautiful there. I look forward to you and Susie……. I enjoy Tony and Bruce his dog. Your two of my best.there are two other ones I like and enjoy. Ok, back to your video.😊
Love the sound of rain on a tin roof as well as a tent or tarp I find it calming. that was an awesome downpour , nice that you got your road ditches sorted out , best of luck for your dads driveway . thanks for bring us along

I found your channel while looking for outdoor gear reviews about 2 weeks ago...been binge watching your channel...anyhow I can say without a doubt luke, you are the best at gear reviews! Hey LUKE... Glad you are well. If you had stayed in the SHED... I would not have been able to watch to the end... lol... The sound of the rain on the tin roof would have put me right to sleep... lol. Peace everyone be safe. God Loves ya !
You should get involved with Ham Radio. While alone in rain and not filming, you could have a blast form your location adding a whole new dimension to your camping/bushcraft videos.
You might even have a repeater that would make contact from Lone Wolf Mountain to your home. Cell phones fail a lot in storms like that. Nice to have a back up.
I enjoy seeing how flexible you are in your plans. It is always good to be prepared and be willing to change plans to enjoy your adventure. On another note, we need your rain. It is too dry up here in the Pacific North West.
Yes, no rain ..record dry spell. We live in the rain forest, lush, cool, misty, slugs galore, gray skies, rain on the roof , rain gurgling in thev downspouts, sweet rain scented breezes through open windows, no AC…. that was then….now no rain, hot weather…did I mention no AC.? Well, its now mid october, the rains are returning, the slugs are back…
I do not comment much , but I have done what you just did ,in the same kind of weather . Stay safe , wish the best for your family . And thanks for your hard work in these videos .
Found your channel quite recently, only thing i can say is thank you for making quality content where people can learn bunch of useful tips and tricks AND as an added bonus giving refined entertainment value as well.
Yep that is a gully washer. Been there done that with our driveway. Hopefully yall got your dad's driveway taken care of. We just had Ida pass through Virginia yesterday and the same tornado that hit Annapolis went by us in Virginia coast. My grandson and I had to hang out in the closet for an hour. Praying for all those that have lost their lives, their families and homes.
Luke! i wish Suzy, your father and you all the very best and be safe, despite this rain storm, in Northern Carolina, as well as for the flooding accumulations out there. In fact, we got hit by the tail of the rain storm and had minor repercussions up here a little while ago in the east part of Canada, Thank you and good luck to all of you. Johnny, Montréal, Canada 🇨🇦
I love the sound of rain but being in a tent or under a tarp it sounds much better. I love to watch the snow fall too. The more the better. Maybe a good snow camp some day. I know it would be to cold to do but I can still wish that this disabled body can do it one day. We talked before In emails and I love your adventures they are awesome. LUVS
HI dear , i live in dubai . Desert and ocean . So mostly hot weather here hardly any rain. Love your videos ❤️❤️❤️ i love rain and camping . Keep up the good work , after finishing my day. I always watch your videos Very nice dear keep up we really enjoy them
I like how you share your responses to various issues, like the couple in your recent video and the yellow-jackets in this one. It’s a master class on how to respond in a way that maximizes success. When I see news videos of people doing dumb stuff I wish I could point them to your example.
Lots of rain, prayers for all those that were affected by this storm and all the others that are to follow. On a lighter note, that rain would put me right out to sleep, I saw you luke, dosing off there for a minute...lol....Glad you were able to keep the mountain safe, and divert all that water. Hope your property and father's property are ok and were able to be fixed without to much effort. Take good care...Great video!
Luke👍👍 Oh no!, back to dehydrated/freeze dried prepackaged food😮 I know you were planning on staying in the shack away from the truck, but with that huge power station and a refrigerator/freezer at hand, fresh food at the ready..Ok,ok, I'll let it go for now... I love camping during inclement weather, rain, snow etc., as long as I can get somewhat out of the wind, all is good. Tent, truck, trailer or tarp, rain hitting the top is a sweet sound. Hope damage was minimal, good luck. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Your mountain "flushes" like the ones I live on here in Georgia. Fun hobby: Pan the culvert dirt for precious stones/metals after a big flushing event. I never found much personally, but it is super fun to find anything at all! lol
I love the sound of rain on metal roof it's actually storming here in Oklahoma at about 530am but it's bout gone now. But have to go to work anyhow. Have fun!!
Hope you and your family and friends are well and safely made it through the storm. Very sorry about the loss of life in your area. Here in New England we are dealing with the aftermath of Ida. Tropical storms and floods are nothing to take lightly. Be well
We lived in an old Farm Homestead tin roof rain sounded great. Lived in 2 different m.homes the last one a custom built Sterling in 1986 The Rain sounded great .
This was a super relaxing episode to watch. Put the baby to sleep 15 mins, warmed up leftover tacos 10 mins, made tonights personal pizzas lunch for grave shift 10 mins thanks for making chores easier
Just had Ida stop by our house and dropped 4.25 inches of heavy rain. We had no problems here, but up the coast was pretty bad in MD PA NY CT NJ they had up to 11 inches. Ugh. The good news is, FALL is coming to a forest near you. Been a long, hot summer and just can't wait for fall. Love to you all. Lou in WV
I'm from south Louisiana and I can honestly tell ya anything food related that are premade and cajun, creole, and or acadiana stay away from because it will be worse than 2nd rate dog food however you get it home made from the lil old cajun lady or creole its 2nd to none. Enjoy your videos and your opinions on gear. Keep up the great work loving it.
Luke i have really enjoyed all the videos . I have been learnng a ton by keep my mouth shut lol so to speak and noting everything i need to incase im finding myself having to survive THANK YOU SO MUCH
This makes for an exciting video while also showing that owning property requires spending money and performing labor. Fortunately, there were no 'nail-biters' here.
I am here in New Orleans watching you as my generator is giving me power in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida. It was pretty rough down here. I have been a subscriber since you had 10 thousand sub. The woods around here will have firewood all over this winter. We will get thru this and I will be hiking and camping as soon as it gets cool here.
We had a 100 year storm here 5 years ago that dumped 8 inches of rain in 6 hours and it wiped out my culvert and access road . Cost me 17,000 bucks to fix . I thought about how to keep it from happening again and built huge coffer dam below my culvert .2 months ago we had another 100 year storm and had 5.6 inches in 3 hours . My fix worked and the water running through my culvert hit the dam and shot it up 2 feet in the air slowing the flow and no damage . My neighbors didn't do anything got hammered again . Funny how they all want to know what and how I did it :) Hello from Wisconsin !
Hey Luke, that was a bad storm here in Haywood County. The cabin you see in my thumbnail washed away. My place was well away from the river's edge and had stood 90 years. There are six dead in the community, and it was by far worse than the twin hurricanes of 2004. Destruction like I have never witnessed before. You can't believe how big and powerful a river can be with 10" of rain in a day. Flash floods rise quickly. It hit here in daylight. At night, we would have lost many more.

I'm just 10 minutes into the video and, between the old oil lamp and the rain on the tin roof, I'm totally loving it.

Heavy rain.. floods.. music to my ears 😊
Thanks Lucas its always a pleasure for the content. God Bless and stay safe and the music on the end was icing on the cake.
If you are ever this way I'd be happy to cook ya some South Louisiana Gumbo Luke & Sue, S & H. Another great video with great conceal carry advice!
Hi Luke, seeing you filming in the heavy rain reminded me of
a newscaster reporting on hurricanes. Hope everyone is well, and any damage is
minimum.
I love the sound of rain on metal roof it's actually storming here in Oklahoma at about 530am but it's bout gone now. But have to go to work anyhow. Have fun!!
So happy to see a shed video....well a attempt at one. As I'm allergic too. Better safe than sorry.
I have that same Anker power block slim and long lasting fits right in a pocket if needed. I believe I have a 28800 one, love it. Gumbo = Good ...
How can you dislike this video? Great video Luke big thumbs from me!
Love those old lanterns.
Sorry you couldn't stay in the shed. Some of your best videos were made there.
Lou in WV
Glad to hear things didn't go too bad. You survived well. Hope things went well with Ida. Won't be surprised if you were out in it too.
Love your videos dude. You are like the Base Camp Chris of the East Coast without the scary campfire stories. Keep it up!
The sound is so relaxing! And it’s all so green and pretty. Next time can you send some of that rain over here to California? ☺️
I whole heartedly agree....If you are not eating gumbo made within 50 miles of Opelousas, it's not the real thing.
@@streakerofevil My first wife was from Sunset. She could make a good pot of gumbo.....Sausage/Chicken file gumbo. Loved the okra gumbo also.
Love it more please!!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ darn yellow jackets messed up that lovely sound
U make a rain Strom sleep video rain was so good one brother keep it up peace
I love that noise for sleep 😍😍😍😍
I like the sound of the rain in the tub roof very relaxing!
Great video man! You are a steward of the land, your land. Well done!
The rain sound is 👌
The sound is THE BEST part
