But Israel didnt bothered to conquer WestBand and Gaza from the beaten enemy - they tried to respect the UN two country solution. so these areas become occupied by Jordan and Egypt. Israel won these areas in the war of 67 where arabs tried to attack but failed... so, with the right of the conqueror Israel could take the areas, but held them as occupied, hoping for a peace treaty, having these areas as a powerful "hostage". But the arabs refused any peace talks; not arab countries, nor Palestinian representative... 73 arabs attacked, but were driven back. It began to calm down a little after 75, when Egypt accepted a peace treaty, and got back Sinai (lost 73?)... Time went on unsuccesfull peace talk, including these by Trump and his son in law. Around 2000 the peace talks gave at last fruits; the idea of two country solution become anew a reality; palestinians would get WestBank and Gaza... Israel even evacuated all Jews from Gaza, so the area would be 100% palestinians... But here is also the trouble: as Palestinians got the promise to have WestBank, aside of some small exceptions, they get sour for any settler movement. Or even, if Israeli police patrols there, for example to arrest known terrorists, make hinder for rocket and artillery shelling - or simply, try to hold peace. Israel never annexed the West Bank because she didn't have to. After taking control of Judea and Samaria after the 1948 war, Jordan never annexed it to Jordan. Thus, when Israel took it back after the 1967 war, there was nothing to annex. However, because of the political climate then and now, the West Bank was left to take care of itself (if Israel had annexed Gaza and the WB, it would no longer have been a majority Jewish state). Nevertheless, the region belongs to Israel. Moreover, to those who insist that all Israelis leave the WB, why is it that the only people on the planet against whom ethnic cleansing is acceptable are Jews. Nobody insists that any other group leave any other region on the entire planet.
In 1967 Israel could have both annexed Gaza and the West Bank/East Jerusalem AND expelled most or all the Arabs who lived there, forcing them to re-locate to Egypt and Jordan. That would have been no different from what Jordan did with all the Jews in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in 1948. Tit for tat. Jordan "annexed" the West Bank and East Jerusalem in that it took control over the area, but Jordan never declared the area to be part of its country or that all of the people there became Jordanian citizens (because they didn't). So, when Israel took the area back in '67, it was not a situation of conquering another country and annexing some of that country's land because the WB was not part of the country of Jordan. This is one of the reasons why the suggestion that Israel return to the '67 "borders" is dumb because there were no borders and the land never belonged to Jordan. Israel, the only country in the world that keeps getting attacked and is expected to give up land for peace (a peace that we all know will never stick because, well, Arabs).

By default and according to customary international law, when Israel declared independence, Judea and Samaria were included within the boundaries of Israel. i.e. They didn't have to annex the West Bank. It was already theirs. Arabs living there in effect became Israeli citizens, which some accepted and are to this day. So one question might be, 'Are Israeli arabs living in the West bank living on their own land?' 'Are arab Israeli's living in the West Bank, Israeli settlers?' I love the way this guy Yehuda speaks and gives his point of view. I've seen him before it one of my favorite videos from The Travelling Clatt. It's a dream for me to live in an area that he lives in. This new, young generation of Pro Pal protesters are a nuisance because they are rebels without a cause .....until one comes up and they jump on the band wagon. I have zero tolerance for them because i know they have not done their due dilligence at all. The reason is that it just thoroughly proved how foreign you are to this conflict (jew or not) and how little you understand about the actual day to day life of settlers. Settlers put road signs and shop signs in Arabic because in practice, the local arabs mostly come to the settlements not to kill, but to buy, and vice versa. I think it is highly questionable to frame it as non violent to go onto somebody elses Land and trying to drive them out either with military help or with weapons yourself, while racial segregation is instituted within the infrastructure, the access to streets, services and so forth. By default and according to customary international law, when Israel declared independence, Judea and Samaria were included within the boundaries of Israel. i.e. They didn't have to annex the West Bank. It was already theirs.
Arabs living there in effect became Israeli citizens, which some accepted and are to this day. So one question might be, 'Are Israeli arabs living in the West bank living on their own land?' 'Are arab Israeli's living in the West Bank, Israeli settlers?' IMO, by definition a 'Palestinian' is an arab living in the land who rejects Israeli sovereignty over the land. As opposed to an Israeli arab who accepts it.
Since, by demand of Jordan, the Green Line was not to be considered a border, though OCCUPIED BY JORDAN from 1949 to 1967, the "west bank"/Judea-Samaria was and still is within the original Borders of Israel and as such cannot be "occupied" by itself.
That is why there is no need to "annex" your own land after being repossessed.
So the accurate reply to calls to "End the occupation" is "The occupation ended in 1967"

The quote i liked the most from this video is your last sentence. The reason is that it just thoroughly proved how foreign you are to this conflict (jew or not) and how little you understand about the actual day to day life of settlers. Alongside the violence there ie coexistence. Settlers put road signs and shop signs in Arabic because in practice, the local arabs mostly come to the settlements not to kill, but to buy, and vice versa. Many settlers would tell you theyre working with arabs. And here you have a man who genuinely understands the issue as hes worked on it for his entire life and hes telling you what is essentially an axiom in israel, and you just scoff.

So, when Jews decide to move to and build in the West Bank, whose laws are being broken? And as I said in another post, although it was part of the new state of Israel in 1948 and then Jordan took control as a result of that war, Jordan never annexed it. So when Jordan lost the war in '67, the land was taken back by Israel. So, although not part of Israel, it's Israeli land.

I think it is highly questionable to frame it as non violent to go onto somebody elses Land and trying to drive them out either with military help or with weapons yourself, while racial segregation is instituted within the infrastructure, the access to streets, services and so forth. Or when your land gets sold without you even having a say in it.
