I only ever use flexi paint for all my layers but am considering latex - will need a heavy duty set up as I have a little airbrush for model painting! Do you think you’ll do a video on using/adjusting/cleaning the airbrush?
@@ttccraftworks8469 thanks for your time . Nice job also 😊. Also you have a link for the flex paint and can you tell me if its a type of plasty dip ? 😀
Great video as always. I have question though. Is a latex spray something that only comes in a bottle to be used in a spray gun or would a product like Plastidip or Hexflex provide the same sort of functionality?
Plastidip and hexflex are not strong enough to protect the foam in larp situation and you can buy latex and brush it on. But the finish won't be as good.
The air guns I use are fairly easy to clean weather latex or flexipaint put some water through it before you start cleaning. And make sure it's not a airbrush your using for these paints, but a air gun.
How do you think latex compares to flexipaint? I tried both, but I’m very undecided. Latex feel like a softer/more elastic option, but way more bothersome to apply, and less durable...while flexi paint was much easier to apply, and somewhat tougher, but the blade felt a bit more stiff... I saw another of your videos where you mixed both, how well do they interact?
Hi mate. I always use both. At least six coats light even coats of latex then flexipaint black coat. Then Flexi paints and tamiya acrylics for detail. Both Flexi paint and latex work well together in my workshop
Awesome, thanks for the answer! Is there a reason to not using just flexi paint? Or special tips for latex? I find it so much harder to apply, everything keeps clogging, and the smell is super weird... 😅
Absolutely awesome tutorials! Question, could you substitute liquid latex with plastidip?
For a cosplay weapon or prop of course yes. But a larp weapon or prop. No I would say it would pass safety inspection

Yea I don't use my air brush as much as I should but yes can do a vid on that. Also latex can be brushed on just use a foam brush and thin layers
Great video! Hope to see the next LARP weapons tutorial :) How did you do these ornaments? Did you use some kind of tool like a wood burner?
Hi mate yea I did I will do a video on detail methods and such... Hoping to have the painting and varnishing build video upto day.
You have use contact cement glue or it was another type of glue?
Hi mate yes it's a contact adhesive called alpha thixofix.

Hi how would you go about using latex if you dont have the space for a spray gun etc is there another method i could use?
You can brush it on. But try using a foam brush as it leaves less brush strokes
@ttccraftworks8469 thankyou very much! I'm very new to this your videos have been very helpful especially having links to materials!

@@ttccraftworks8469 ah, ok. Thank you.
does the latex last a lot longer in combat than just foam? It's a great video.
Yes latex adds a good deal of protection to the item. And adds a longer life span if regular silicone spray is added now and then.
Cool I will have to use some on my next project for fighting swords.@@ttccraftworks8469
How do you clean your paint sprayer when done?

Hi, I just want to know how do you clean your spray gun when you spray the latex and when you spray paint ?
Yes youl have to clean your spray gun between latex and paint. You can add acrylic paints and pigments to your latex if you wish
And how do you clean your spray gun? With white spirit?
@@pmetaut can use just water mate. Latex is water based so should just thing out easy enough
Thanks a lot
