I'm from Venezuela, we don't even make wood houses but I'm a follower of this channel because it's more than just construction, it's about commitment and compromise. Great work.
Haters going to hate. I couldn't care less if you guys are millionaires. Nobody can take away the fact that you are both very hardworking and focused on the goal. Keep on doing what you are doing and I will keep on watching.
We use the “honeycomb “ style tower lights at my SES unit (Read Rescue squad) here in Victoria, Australia. They are fantastic especially in our road crash rescue role, deployed fast, long battery life and bright as heck! We started with a trial 2 on our support vehicle 12 months ago just a few weeks ago we finished installing another 5 pairs across our rescue fleet.
I've been using the M18 line for years and couldn't be more impressed. The 5.0 and 9.0 batteries are the way to go. You'll find yourselves making the cordless transition to everything M18.
These lights are amazing! Love the portability. I have been using them regularly as a maintainer in the Air Force for many years and highly recommend them. My only suggestion: run them at lowest brightness setting possible to retain battery life and prolong serviceability. Screw the negativity in the comments, keep up the good work you two!!!
I reloaded TH-cam and it said new video 8 secs ago haha had to say second for some reason (first time ever and last time ever saying second). It is said all the time but what you guys are doing is a great inspiration, not just the timber frame but the whole experience from the fire wood all the way to the filming we are learning so much from you guys. Thank You for taking the time and documenting your journey for us.
You guys need a counter brush or two. For cleaning sawdust off the freshly cut logs on band saw and for cleaning up the garage floor. Also helpful for cleaning snow off fuel tank filler cap area when you need to refuel a piece of equipment.
Great lights. The construction company I work for uses dewalt cordless tools, but use the Milwaukee tower lights. They are the best job site lights out there. Keep up the good work!
I hope the stairwell...stairs will be bigger than they look. When you think every single thing taken into the house once the SIPs and roof are in place will have to go up the stairs... Finish timber flooring, ladders, probably the windows...and later furniture. . Refrigerator. ..etc etc
If you are planning to purchase some shop lights, consider purchasing from Sam's Club (online is available) their LED lights 4 ft units. You can daisy chain up to 10 fixtures and they cost about $34 each. Great lights.
We were considering getting the Rocket. Now we will. We now use everything Milwaukee. I used to use Dewalt but that was a troubled time in my life. Thanks for the review.
I have the Milwaukee M18 AL-0 flood light, the little octagonal one, and as an electrician ( you have to turn the lights off to work on a light circuit ) it's one of the most used tools I have. Gets 8+ hours on low with a 4Ah battery working inside a switchboard.
You can tack up a white sheet on the floor joists and point the light up at it and it will light up the whole floor so you won't have to keep moving the lights around.
Can run the rocket off a cord also. I have both them lights plus a few others. I love the m18 and the fuel line with 9.0 batteries are AWESOME!!! Happy building..house looks fantastic!
Hey guys ,as an Electrician I use Strictly Milwaukee I've dropped my drills from 20 feet didn't hurt them they've gotten wet, left in the rain I've abused the crap out of them and they have never failed me , if you get a chance to try their drills a try you'll love them .
You are going to love the Milwaukee line. I have been using it for years and just keep adding tools. The smaller 2361-20 led flood light is awesome also. Only works off battery but is super portable and durable. I get almost 8hrs of light on low setting. Worth the $100 dollars price point.
For working in the cold you could make or have someone make for you a rocket stove with a angled feed tube to warm up buy "hand's" and burn your saw dust and planer shavings "mix them together" (I would say mix 25% saw dust to 75% planer shaving but play with that) Set it up out side near where you are working.
LED floods, what a bright idea. Ha ha. My son is a Milwaukee nut. All of his power tools has to be Milwaukee. I got him an M18 LED light last Christmas that's kind of octagon shape three power modes and it has been awesome for him.
Just a thought: if you guys are planning on being off-grid compatible, wire your house for both AC and DC circuits. Just having lights that work when the power fails, running on your DC off-grid system, is a huge huge stress relief. There's more and better DC convenience devices and lighting available than ever before, and running on straight DC skips completely past the inverter and the inefficiencies it introduces. Now, while you're building, is the time to take those steps if you're so inclined.
Guys, do yourself a favor. Buy, or get a cheap old WHITE sheet and just tack it temporarily to the ceiling. Then point that small one up at the sheet and it will fill the garage space with a more even light, no shadows. Then just keep the big one as you have it. It will be much easier on your eyes.
Hey guys... A tipbit about the battery... if you press and hold the charge indicator button, it gives you a charge history for the battery... something to know if you think about buying any second-hand bat's...
Great set up I own this same lights for more then 6 months no problems with batt ..u will be happy and soon u going to change to Milwaukee everything. Grate videos.
I'm a photographer and get situations like this again. If you cross light it you will eliminate the shadows and really see what you're doing all night. Cross lighting is placing lights opposite of each other. Also the higher the lights the more the shadows falls downward thus in turn creating less shadows or smaller shadows I should say.
Take a large piece of white plastic or cloth, hang it from the ceiling by the edges, and let the middle droop down like an upside-down umbrella. Put the light right below it and aim it straight up toward the droopy part. The white will diffuse the light and create a widespread glow that's less harsh than a direct beam. I'm betting that one rover light will illuminate the whole garage.
This seems like the most useful comment. Just like lighting for photo/video, it's better to have even diffused lighting spread out. At the same time I get that this light can be used out of the garage when cutting logs, etc. Since the light source is so small, the lighting is very harsh. I do like video led panels as the light is spread out more giving a softer light.
I have previously owned Dewalt & Rigid and switched to Milwaukee 4 years ago and never regretted the decision, I even have a SDS Plus that is well worth it. Check out CPO Milwaukee on the net. They have great package prices that include batteries, along with Tool Only available as well. I have been using the very same LED's at work for well over a year. They are rock solid.
I really like the Milwaukee 18 lithium battery tools. They are tough and faithful. The batteries have good staying power. Yeah there are more powerful batteries out there but they get pretty bulky. They charge fairly quickly as well.
They used to be the best, but a lot of people have done testing against other brands and they are up there but lack in some areas. I use Makita as they were up the top on the tests that I do more of. There also cheaper them Milwaukee and have their 36V range use 2 X 18V batteries instead of 1 36V battery.
Milwaukee is all I use. Its actually lasted me longer then makita and craftsman guys. Seriously YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED BY SWITCHIMG. I CAN PROMISE THAT. The impact and.drill have toms and tons of tongue. Im a contractor and habe built a few houses with my current set. If y'all need advise or have questioms email me amd I can walk you through steps etc etc
Ziva David what's that mean? I have used tons of miluakee tools and never had a problem. Except they do have like an extra small 1/4" impact gun and that one does suck
Good powerful lights, I bought a flashlight last week it has 37 LED's and is rechargeable but I don't think the time it can be on is very good (about 30 mins) however at £14 UK you could get a lot of them for the money that you have laid out. My lights work great for what I want but the downside is that it takes 9 hours to recharge and you cannot run it from the mains. I am guessing that your "power" is the generator, that could be a problem because some of the battery systems don't like to be charged by generator as the amp age is not constant
You will never regret Milwaukee I've been with them for years the best I've used and I've used most all of them, make sure you get fuel brushless they are so much better
I just made my own floodlight using a 100W led, surplus cpu cooler, 36V boost converter off ebay, camera tripod and a load of salvaged laptop batteries rescued from a recycler and a cheap B6AC lipo charger. Loads of videos on youtube on how to make one if anyone needs to save a lot of bucks!

I have had one of those Rover lights for almost 2 years now and I love it! With the XC battery, you can get almost 8 hours on the low power setting. I also have one of the 9 amp/hour batteries and it does fit in the Rover no problem.
That's crazy expensive? I can't believe that for a significantly lower price you couldn't get lighting in the workspace. I guess it's kinda like the solar power setup and that they will figure it out as they go! There goes the learning curve again.
Alyssa..[if thats how you spell it] it doesn't matter what the work lights say to you, or your skin; the fact you even care is an inspiration. Your beautiful! And i guarantee you can do more than over half the females on this Earth! Did i mention that's the epitome of beauty? BTW the reason why no self standing work light is rigid and they all feel a little loosey goosey is intentional. Things like that in a work environment are constantly getting hit. IF it were absolutely stiff it would be more prone to being knocked over or broken. By having that small amount of wobble it allows them to absorb a good bit harder of a hit without being damaged or knocked over.
just a thought: put ALL the lights on low. Then you can go higher if and only if you need to. Low uses much less batteries than high. (ie: low six hour. hi two hour. example, lol) [informative video, I did not know the lights were so dang high priced. I'm eagerly awaiting the 'house raising' to start! ]
With one concentrated light source you might find it difficult to carry out some tasks, like measuring and marking. An easy, and cheap, solution is to make the light indirect, i.e. to reflect the light on something before it reach your work surface. Normally you achieve this by aiming the light on the ceiling when indoors. Sadly in your case with the dark beams/floor above this would loose you a lot of lumens BUT if you get a sheet of white'ish "styrofoam" insulation and hang it at a slight angle from the beams above where you are working and aim one light-head at the "reflector" it would give you a much softer light. Better for delicate tasks, less shadows and more forgiving for Melissa's skin (not that you need it but as you are conscious of it...)
True but then they will still be able to cast shadows with their bodies, I just find it easier for work at workbenches to have the light bounced from above. Personal preference that I should have mentioned in the original post.
I have been a Makita fan boy for many years. However, in the last three+ years I have seen Milwaukee product innovation go through the roof... About two years ago the electrical contractor I work did a huge tool update to these new Milwaukee tools and I grabbed a few for my service van to try out. I still like Makita but I have now replaced all my cordless tools on my service van with the Milwaukee tools. I have also bought several Milwaukee cordless tools for myself. I still like Makita a lot but I think Milwaukee is better at this point...
Milwaukee's line of tools and work lights are awesome. DeWalt brand tools are owned and made by Black&Decker for those who didn't know that. They are bringing Craftsmen back to the US so that all Craftsmen tools will be made in the USA not just the Craftsman Industrial.
That light looks amazing. Beats my 3000watt halogen light. It is two giant floodlights on a tripod with a 1000watt bulb and a 500watt bulb in each. It doubles as a space heater though ;)
as a diesel tech ive gone through crap ton of lights snappy makes em ok But i got tired of spending the money on snappy .bought monster lights and still are working great bright as hell . everything i own that cordless is dewalt 20v dropped my impact and left on a tractor in the rain still works. wal-mart has some good lights and so does Harbor-freight
According to their website the rover will work 2 hours on high on the 3 amp hr battery, 4 hours on med, and 8 hours on low. Same for the Rocket with the high demand 9 amp hr battery.
What parts of Idaho are You at, I spent 9 years living in that lovely State, wish I could return. I lived in the southern flats close to Anderson Ranch Dam are. I was in the USAF and chose for a retirement, and saying that I had to leave, sad day. My Two children were born there, and made some really great friends that chose to stay and make it home. You Both are a great inspiration, keep up the great work. I'm going to send some $$$ your way when I get a chance, soon thou... lol Chris.
The lights look great....top spec and flexibility. The only thing is I find you often need 2 or even 3 worklights.....reason being, with one, you can ending up casting your own shadow over the item you’re working on. The small light will help though
I LIKE TURTLES.🐢 and Makita when they don't come from Home-de-pot. U can get an electric scooter, cordless weed eater, loads more. I've got some Milsuckie tools and they have not held up in a professional environment as well. Enjoy the lights and fast charges though!
The flappy door, and plugger inner thing... Thank God for technical terms LOLOLOLOL
I'm from Venezuela, we don't even make wood houses but I'm a follower of this channel because it's more than just construction, it's about commitment and compromise. Great work.
I'm curious, why not wood? Thanks for responding.

Water everywhere - Still no tarp? You will regret this later.

I have the Milwaukee cordless impact for working on vehicles and everything and I love it, best impact I’ve ever used
Saw Dust is really good to add to your compost pile for your future garden.
and put it first to that water on garage floor, will soak it
Jessey, I sure hope you are giving that wonderful mate of yours some roses off camera! Sorry you are having to work so hard now.
jesse talks about the rover' " Its kinda warm, this is cool" XD... btw without light no work so this is a good buy for you! ☺
You cant go wrong with Milwaukee toot line. I have many Milwaukee 18 and 12 volt tools. Great tools and lights.
I hope the stairwell...stairs will be bigger than they look.
When you think every single thing taken into the house once the SIPs and roof are in place will have to go up the stairs...

You can tack up a white sheet on the floor joists and point the light up at it and it will light up the whole floor so you won't have to keep moving the lights around.
for your garage area you should get construction string lights and put LED Cree bulbs in as a temporary light source
Can run the rocket off a cord also. I have both them lights plus a few others. I love the m18 and the fuel line with 9.0 batteries are AWESOME!!! Happy building..house looks fantastic!
you can use your saw dust in your mulch pile for mulch for your garden

I'm obsessing about that chip! Eat it!
been using Milwaukee for the past 4yrs, they have kicked my DeWalt tools butt
You are going to love the Milwaukee line. I have been using it for years and just keep adding tools. The smaller 2361-20 led flood light is awesome also. Only works off battery but is super portable and durable. I get almost 8hrs of light on low setting. Worth the $100 dollars price point.

To be fair, AvE would find fault with God. :D
You should stick with one brand this way the battery's fit everything. Saves money long term.
Brilliant lights, glad you have them! your going to really need them
I sure hope you guys are keeping all that natural sawdust. Will make some great compost
you can only do one thing at a time but you do so much in one day and achieved so much in two years.
In the beginning he said, "Let there be light!" And, it was good :)
Wow... $400!! Costco has LED shop lights, nicely priced led work lights. Royobi at Home Depot has work lights. also and it won't break the bank.

rha600 That's a really good idea.
What made Milwaukee famous,it made a work light out of me.
Funny, really did look like sauerkraut. Love those work lights. Be safe Blessings
Hey guys... A tipbit about the battery... if you press and hold the charge indicator button, it gives you a charge history for the battery... something to know if you think about buying any second-hand bat's...
Plugger-inner thing. Love the technical jargon. )))

Milwaukee is the way to go
I love my Milwaukee tools.
Awesome lights!! :)
Sauerkraut for sure! Good on you lovely humans...to he’ll with the naysayers...bugger em💚

You will do it! Thanks for sharing.
Good choice in work lights Milwaukee is a great company the fuel line of tools is very hard to beat
I have previously owned Dewalt & Rigid and switched to Milwaukee 4 years ago and never regretted the decision, I even have a SDS Plus that is well worth it. Check out CPO Milwaukee on the net. New Makita batteries have fuel gauges. I got two 4 Ah ones with my new drill.
Work lights! I just bought my self a set. :)
after the researching, and hands on, I am switching all my cordless to Milwaukee line, they are outclassing everyone else
They used to be the best, but a lot of people have done testing against other brands and they are up there but lack in some areas. I use Makita as they were up the top on the tests that I do more of. There also cheaper them Milwaukee and have their 36V range use 2 X 18V batteries instead of 1 36V battery.
you go guys you can do this. I am enjoying watching you. ignore the whiners.
+Don Trumpy I don't care
+Don Trumpy thank you I will
Milwaukee is all I use.
Miluakee tools are awesome. 1/2" impact gun is amazing. Been using it for 2 years every day and it's fantastic
Ziva David what's that mean? I have used tons of miluakee tools and never had a problem. Except they do have like an extra small 1/4" impact gun and that one does suck
Great video guys, thanks for the review..
Picking up your tools is part of the job 😁
Rough in wire some regular boxes 10/2. mount to bottom side of joists and stick some bulbs in.
You guys are awesome 😎
It would be nice if the rover came with a mounting bracket to put it up in a corner and have the light shining downward
Finally! Now you can work after dark so you're not roofing at winter in snow.
I have the Utilitech LED garage lights and they are super bright and don't get hot. I also have one that I just wire a cord to and it makes a great shop light that I can use anywhere I have 110VAC. Might be worth a try.
Leviton makes a weatherproof socket that is perfect for interior construction lighting after a circuit is ran I use them a lot
You are able to create [at least] one of the three necessities required for human survival. I bet my life Jesse is the luckiest man on EARTH! Keep that I mind!
i MSET Im in total agreement.
Ship Creek Thank you! I mean they're FREAKING BUILDING A HOUSE!!! We ALL live in one of those! Who wouldn't want that skill!? She's got it!
Didn't realize this, but makes a lot of sense.
just a thought: put ALL the lights on low. Then you can go higher if and only if you need to. Low uses much less batteries than high. (ie: low six hour. hi two hour. example, lol) [informative video, I did not know the lights were so dang high priced. I'm eagerly awaiting the 'house raising' to start! ]
OMG 13:05 snow berry peace tea love it lol
You need to pull out your snow shovels for all those planer shavings.
They've got those handy ICF walls that are white, might as well bounce the light off those.
I made the switch all i buy now is Milwaukee tools very happy with my decision
18 min video on a LED light. Its a shop light, plug it in, turn it on.
+Chase - STFU and go watch something else.
I haven't commented before, but... put the light near a corner and point it at white(ish) surfaces. Boom. Camera happiness.
I am a huge fan of what you guys are doing. But you should always explain to us your relationship to the product and brand if you are making an ad
I'm not saying this is definitely an ad, but clarification before the video start "regardless if it is or not" would greatly improve trust
7:34, you want a rigid worklight? Get a ridgid worklight.... (the brand)
Milwaukee's line of tools and work lights are awesome. DeWalt brand tools are owned and made by Black&Decker for those who didn't know that. They are bringing Craftsmen back to the US so that all Craftsmen tools will be made in the USA not just the Craftsman Industrial.
They are actually owned by the parent company Stanely. Stanely owns a bunch of brands like huskey, porter cable and a bunch of others.
There are other led lights used as makeup lights and close up video light that are very flattering to the skin:)
Nice lights!
I use the M18 series almost every day...Milwaukee is great!
That light looks amazing. Beats my 3000watt halogen light. It is two giant floodlights on a tripod with a 1000watt bulb and a 500watt bulb in each. It doubles as a space heater though ;)

The small light will help though
thanks for sharing the Unboxing and review of the Milwaukee LED WORK LIGHTS!
How we know when to quit? "Injury?"
you guys might look into a press for all your shavings. make your own fire logs :)
I LIKE TURTLES.🐢 and Makita when they don't come from Home-de-pot. U can get an electric scooter, cordless weed eater, loads more. I've got some Milsuckie tools and they have not held up in a professional environment as well. Enjoy the lights and fast charges though!
