How do you ensure the 90 angle when doing offsets? I'm doing an rhs course and I think they want us to say measure FROM the baseline to the point, but I think your way is better. To do the 'swing' technique (especially on a very curbside irregular bed) to find 90 surely you really should do it your way..??

In existing gardens, the straight lines between measuring points will typically be blocked by plants etc, so I fail to see how you can arrive at precise measurements, esp. when you are trying to establish 90° for formal designs 😢
