I drive a forklift it doesn't take that long to stage a load, and load it on the truck including paper work . I do it everyday. These people are just lazy.

One thing you have to realize theses people working for theses big shippers don’t care. It’s nothing off their back they are paid by the hour. They can care less if anything moves. Just the way it will always be.
I mean the two guys in the break room arent allowed to take a break? I watch from the other side. Plus whos to say those guys are even PIT certified to load it? EHS regs and stuff. We want stuff to move. Its how we make money too. Esp in distribution
One thing to add to crossing a scale is to turn off the radio and roll down your window. That way, you can hear any verbal instructions given.
Word of advice……even though traffic is backed up, you are still not allowed in the left lane in Georgia….high dollar ticket and high points on the CDL..

I drove to wal mart, down by Atlanta, it took 15 minutes to unload truck, 4 hrs to get my paper work to me, the digital is even more insane

Hey Justin, I wanted to say that I really appreciate your videos with countless amounts of information that you give us to be successful in the trucking industry. You played a major role in my life to decide I wanted to earn my CDL 4 years ago and now I am thinking of buying my own rig. Back when you had that Volvo, I remember seeing how much you enjoyed doing what you do, it made me take the chance of not having any income for a month to set me up for success. Took me almost 9 years before I bought mine... Take your time... I just bought a 98 W900 last week for 78k with a 12.7 Detroit. Trucks got 1.4mil, 250k on an over haul, new clutch, Cam, Chambers, Drums, Slack Adjusters etc etc. Its very clean for the year. My boss also has a asset based Brokerage, I do direct customer freight and have the option to jump in a company truck while mine is being worked on... If you the average person I wouldn't go out buying a truck right now. I also got no kids and no house payment over my head. Take your time.

Had a load rejected yesterday took 8 hrs for them to figure out where to take it they notified me at 330 pm and we had to be there by 6 pm in DFW rush hr traffic.

I remember once, when I was a rookie and driving for Werner, out in the middle of nowhere Arkansas I arrived at a shipper. There was a sign with instructions for drivers to call and check in; however, I had no service. Another driver who arrived after me didn't have any service either. We were knocking on doors trying to find someone to talk to and eventually did and they told us to leave and find a place where we could call to check in, that is easier said then done. I contacted my dispatcher and manager via tablet in my tractor and told them about my situation and they must have put a fire under their a$$, because a "person", who was rude, eventually walked out to our trucks and begrudgingly processed our BOL's and gave us a doc #. I had to blind side 90 into the doc and was able with little stress. But my entire day was shot found a Walmart and proceeded to Albuquerque the next day.
I remember running dry van and dealing with that kind of crap constantly. Switched to flatbed 3 years ago and that issue almost completely disappeared. Of course you'll have the occasional lazies but not nearly at the rate I experienced in dry van. Purely a dry van, reefer issue.

You’re right about that just take it in with the truck for you you’re stuck in traffic that wasn’t your fault but me she got another solar panel delivery and you’re right the buyers are trying to keep all the money to their selves they don’t care about the truck. Driver should have to drive through all the traffic through all the bad weather set an ass to change but keep your head up. I’m praying that something will change for all the truck drivers out there. I park my truck right by the rail yard across the street. I have also been to that POST warehouse several times. I delivered once with no other truck in site and it took 5 hours.

It could be cause your equipment is to old too, some loads want to know the age of your equipment

The guys in there could not be loaders..maybe they are pickers..witch pickers are not allowed to load. Or janitorial personal. But they also could be loaders. Just not always good to assume that everyone you see can load trucks. And if they are. Then I totally agree with you 100%. But not everyone in the building is loaders.
A lot of these shippers are following the Amazon way, to maintain a grade with them you must do 3 loads a week. It’s beneficial to the shipper because that’s a minimum of loads a week to move their freight. Bad for us because the rates are crap

Justin the problem is that most truck drivers are impatient and always in a rush thanks to two factors the 30 min break where truck drivers park in the fuel island and blocking it and also everyone waiting the last second of their clock to find parking for their 10 hour break.
I've been looking at your W9, and I think you should take it to SH Tube and have them put a new grill in. Not that the original one is bad. I just think a new one would make it look a lot nicer with all the work you have already done to it.

Just tried getting a trailer alignment and two different shops said they can't because they don't have a qualified technician that's certified to do it. I think the whole workforce in America nobodys qualified to do anything anymore.
Low levels of education are a government problem. Government is too busy fighting amongst themselves as they take our tax money…

shipper and receivers have gotten lazy. I've gone to places whee the local drivers say they are union at the place and only have to load 4 trucks an hour for the whole facility. He said they find any reason to turn away the road drivers. 😡😡

As a company driver….i just left a company in may, after 11 years. They started training students. I told them if they start treating me(over 20 year experience) like a student, we’re going to have issues. Guess what?? We had issues.
How do the rates today compare to pre-Covid rates? My son, who works in logistics, told me that the shipping rates today are kind of what they were pre Covid and that they had gone way up from 2020 -2022.
Man; love your videos. Try to do some direct contract with your local shippers; solar panels, etc. Your good with people face to face; offer them custom preferential treatment; would work well for both sides; cut the broker out.
That would make a boring trucking channel. The cement gig got old quick. With so many subs as it has to fit TH-cam.

I would assume that your load finder app is location based? If it is, it would make sense that your outbound freight is going to pay more than the backhaul.
Maybe that other load will be up for the back haul on Monday or Tuesday????? The one you were late for in the beginning of this week video??!!

Hi Justin please help put word out for a fellow owner operator. I booked a load from this broker called Map Transit out of Florida; on the rate con they agreed to pay $2200. After I dropped the load off they shorted me $500 claiming I was late 15min.
I don’t want this to happen to other drivers thanks man.

Feel like maybe with your thoughts of the guys watching the game you should consider that you have no idea what they’ve been doing up until your interactions. Could easily be on a 12 hr shift or workin doubles. Just sayin… usually you’re not off on your perception but this case just seemed a little different.

Broker load volume requirements are intended for carriers that choose to sit out of the cheap freight markets. This is their strategy to maintain a supply and demand advantage.
"Sad for America" is not new. I retired in 2016...and that sad situation was in effect before then, also. Instead of 2 dozen fork-trucks running on the day shift ... evening shift will have 2 or 3, graveyard shift will run just 1. Especially around Atlanta.
Dang like it’s not stressful enough and being sent to different location to get loaded and getting cut off from being able to get it done!!! God bless you Justin for being able to keep your cool in these situations!!!!
