But I'm glad they went with the final product. His betrayal was difficult to watch, but necessary to signify his character development.
Exactly. If he hadn't gone back to the fire nation for what he viewed as his honour being restored he would constantly be wondering if he could go back and not feel worthy to be on the Avatars side
"I used to think this scar marked me. The mark of the banished prince, cursed to chase the Avatar forever. But lately... I've realized that I'm free to determine my own destiny, even if I'll never be free of my mark." Zuko is NOT his scar. That's what Ozai wanted him to believe.
I think the weirdest part of atla for me was when zuko was having his fever dream after freeing Appa, and he looked in the mirror and he looked like an older Aang....
In Timeline 1, they totally forgot about the Eclipse. They probably would've stood a better chance with Zuko knowing the exact layout of the Capital, and probably also known where Ozai's bunker was.
@@BlueBlazeKing but actually they would stand a better chance remember in the new 1 timeline he said they would go free iroh and if iroh and zuko were with team avatar on day of black sun then they would know where to find ozai even easier and defeat him and even if they bumped into azula they could split up zuko and toph verse azula while iroh sokka and iroh go find ozai
there was a huge mistake in timeline 3 even if ravaa was killed there would be no 10 thousand years of darkness vatuu would still be trapped in the spirit world since only the avatar could open the portals so regardless the dark spirit would still be trapped in the tree but the airbender would not return they would be forever extinct
While Iroh didn't become Fire Lord, he was still the best Father Lord second best would be Zuko. Out of all of former Team Avatar that had children, Zuko was the only one who didn't have a rocky relationship with their children. He had a rocky relationship with Ozai, and he didn't want Izumi to have the same thing. He was very protective of his daughter Izumi. After Zaheer took the Queen's breath away (ba-dum-tss), he made sure to return to the Fire Nation to protect her in case Zaheer targeted Izumi next.
@@user-ri1qt7iu8p thanks,Even if the scar makes him look imperfect, it bears witness to his story and growth. Such imperfection is another kind of perfection.
Not only that. Zuko keeping his scar teaches him that he does not need to get rid of his scar to grow and live a better life. This is an important lesson many people need in life. Some things can not be changed so you gotta live your best life with it.
It probably wouldn't do anything visually. It's been years since he got the scar, so it's mostly healed. The only thing the spirit water would do, is fix his eye sight, assuming the injury damaged his eye. But the scar would remain like it did with aang.
The water doesn’t just heal injuries. It literally brings people, even the Avatar, back to life. And since Aang got shot while in the Avatat state, it killed the Avatar spirit (Raava) as well, which means it brings spirits back to life as well. Katara implied that she wasn’t entirely sure what the water could do, just that it had “special healing properties”. With resurrection being one of them, I wouldn’t count healing physical impurities likes scars completely out since that’s pretty minimal compared to bringing people back from the dead. And scars do fade away gradually over time. Obviously Zuko’s didn’t, but to be fair he didn’t really care to treat it and it was bigger than an average scar.
I think the point they're making here is that if this Spirit Water is powerful enough to bring someone back from the dead, it might be powerful enough to return a scar to normal skin.
@@lucasrobin2788 thing is, the scar left of the strike never healed. Aang still has that scar on his back, despite being healed minutes after the fact.
@@Sonic09Hedgehog but katara used the spirit water to heal aang, not get rid of the scar. she was just trying to heal him, so even though the spirit water probably is powerful enough to heal a scar like aangs, it didnt get healed because thats not what katara was trying to do. however, if she used the water on someone with the specific purpose of healing the scar and not the injury, (like healing zukos scar) the scar probably would get healed.
I don't think Zuko would have chosen to side with the avatar immediately if Katara had removed his scar. It's pretty clear that by that time, at the crossroads, he still wasn't ready. Just my thoughts though! It's absolutely true that he was making progress up to that point, and that it WAS a genuinely difficult decision. I just don't think he fully understood what he wanted for Himself yet. Katara healing him would have been like a favor, not necessarily negating what Zuko still thought he wanted at that time (being accepted in the fire nation).
I think he would’ve since aang would’ve got hit and that might’ve made feel guilty. He was already thinking abt it so I think it kind of made sense. Maybe it might’ve been more of a one time thing and he would live the quiet life. We may never know...

I just have to add that in the alternate version where Zuko already joined the group in Ba Sing Se and they defeated Azula there, Firelord Ozai wouldn't have known about the invasion plan and he wouldn't have hidden in the bunker. Then Team Avatar would not only have the entire Earth King Army behind them, but they would also have a surprised and unprepared Fire Nation in front of them. It would have gone even easier.

I would love Zuko with the scar I would love Zuko's character with no scar. Still think the show would be fantastic but this dove into an area I've always wondered about.
For Timeline 1: Ozai's scorched earth plan was partially inspired when he asked Zuko for insight about Earth Kingdom commoners and Zuko said "...as long as they have hope." This prompted whole plan. So if Zuko wasn't there, it's possible the Scorched Earth plan wouldn't have come to be either.
I love watching these alternate timeline episodes. It just shows how meticulous and intentional every scene, every character decision, every dialogue was and how it served a purpose in where it would lead to next and what it would mean for the greater story as a whole and its conclusion. It just further solidifies this show as some of the best examples of storytelling
No, Zuko would have joined the gaang earlier, taken down Azula in Ba Sing Se, took the Earth Kingdom's Army to the Fire Nation, defeated Ozai in the Black Sun Day, war is over, love and peace, see you in TLOK. 😉
Timeline 1: Bad, but Aang and Zuko would probably defeat Ozai anyway. Timeline 2: Best possible outcome. Timeline 3: We're doomed. Timeline 4: No Avatar, but there's still a bit of hope.
Time line 3 Zuko taking the dead Avatar's destiny unto himself, and facing his father in combat for the throne and the fate of the world? Pretty intense.
Now we need to see "What if Zuko successfully learned to generate Lightning from Iroh?" and maybe even "What if Zuko fought back in the Agni Kai against his Father?"
It’s possible that with the longer time to work on firebending, Aang would have felt prepared to take on the Fire Lord before the comet. Also, Iroh and Zuko would have had knowledge of the underground tunnels to aid with finding Ozai. Also, Mai and Tai Lee might not have had their redemption points. Plus, Zuko might not have cemented his new character if he hadn’t given up his place in the Fire Nation while he had everything to lose. He might have had a catastrophic backslide at some point.
I disagree with the second timeline because the whole reason the day of black sun failed was azula knew from when she disguised herself as a kyoshi warrior and the earth king spoke of the plan unless Zuko somehow knows of where Ozai is hiding during the day of black Sun this wouldn’t have happened and the day of black sun would end in the same way
Zuko might know it was coming and could have had Katara launch him up right in front of Aang with her waterbending so that he could catch Azula's lightening just in time and redirect it.
I had expected some of these things would happen...but this is really great to get confirmation from creator's team itself...❣ Tbh Zuko's scar doesn't define what inside he is, but yea we wouldn't recognize him without that scar...
But in the meeting to decide what to do during Sozin's comet it was Zuko's input that gave Azula the chance to recommend destroying the earth kingdom. Without Zuko there Azula might not have said that especially with her confidence so low after the defeat just after a huge victory
U don’t know how much this channel means to me. I’ve been sad when I think back to my childhood and remember how much I miss this show and this channel reminds me of the great times I had watching this with my friends when I was little. Thx u
@10:43 The idea of a failed invasion is actually covered pretty well in the fanfic Avatar: Distorted Reality. It imagines if Aang did not defeat Fire Lord Ozai. He asks for help from Avatar Yangchen, who sends him into an alternate reality where Azula and a scarless Zuko find him in a volcano, the Water Tribe has invaded the world, Sokka is a banished prince with a scar, and Katara is his calculating sister. Its super well done, I recommend looking it up if you're interested in alternate timelines / possibilities for the Avatar universe.
I always watch this and think "THAT COULD'VE TOTALLY WORKED AAAH!!" But then at the same time I'm like "No Zuko wouldn't be the same without his scar."
I kind of liked how the physical scar on Zuko represents the emotional trauma that he went through with his dad so I wouldn’t love that if it actually happened
Azula surprised Aang and everyone else with her lightning strike when he went into the Avatar state. Zuko wouldn’t have been able to redirect it as he had no inclination that it was coming. He was as surprised as everyone else.
but he would be fighting her instead this time. he would probably be the one focussing on her as this is personal to him, so he would also likely be in a position to try and stop her.
7:05 If Aang had never learned energybending from the Lion Turtle, even if they had defeated Ozai, what would they do with him? Aang would probably object to Ozai being executed, but you couldn't just keep the dethroned Fire Lord in prison, especially with Sozin's Comet approaching.
i’m glad he didn’t get his scar healed and join team avatar during the crossroads of destiny. zuko going back home, realising it *wasn’t* what he wanted and confronting his father was such a crucial part of his development, he wouldn’t be zuko without it.
@@rollinthunder1000 We are talking about ATLA. Of course 1 million is a lot. But I know that the number of people who watched this show is much bigger. I meant that it's underrated if you consider the people who watched the show/who are subscribed
the scar is a reminder of his father's cruelty. he would bask in his father's approval and fail to see him for the monster that he is. at the end of the series, the scar is his badge of honor. of the time he stood up against his father
I cannot see Zuko behaving too differently if Katara healed him. He still would've betrayed Team Avatar, though with a heavier conscience than originally. And with Aang being dead by lightening and lack of spirit water. While in book 2, Zuko learns that he has his own destiny. However, at that point, he still believed that honor was something he needed to be given back by his father. He still longed for that. The first half of book 3 shows him struggling and being unhappy, even though he finally got what he wanted, or rather, what he thought he wanted. However, in this hypothetical situation, Aang would have been dead, Katara, Sokka, and Toph would have hated Zuko's guts forever. Iroh would probably want little to do with him (maybe. He never stopped loving Zuko,) And then Zuko would've been left with regret for the rest of his days in a fire nation-run world.
If Katara had healed Zuko's scar he more than likely would've helped team avatar in ba sing se. But then book 3 wouldn't have had a leg to stand on, in development or in basic story telling. The team wouldn't have taken over a Fire Nation ship, Aang wouldn't have gone to a school, everyone that came to fight during the eclipse would've had to hide/camp together; meaning they'd be much easier to find. And lastly if she had healed Zuko's scar, let's just face it. Aang wouldn't have stood a chance with Katara.
Actually, in the third timeline where Aang dies and the cycle is broken there would be no Korra to open the portals at the north and south poles to begin with. So, when Raava came back she would be sealed in the that tree as well. All things considered this outcome with 10,000 years of darkness wouldn't actually be possible, but the Fire Nation would still win.
Truly Avatar needs a What if anthology spin off series. Like certain events and choices changes from what’s canon in the OTL and make a few or several episodes of such events.

Timeline 4: No Avatar, but there's still a bit of hope.
What do you mean by this? -Sasuke UCHIHA
Time line 3 Zuko taking the dead Avatar's destiny unto himself, and facing his father in combat for the throne and the fate of the world? Pretty intense.
Yup, but there will be no avatar anymore
Now we need to see "What if Zuko successfully learned to generate Lightning from Iroh?" and maybe even "What if Zuko fought back in the Agni Kai against his Father?"
Only wounds can be healed, scars may fade but cannot be healed.
Okayyyyyy thennnnnn
Yeah the cells are already dead
It’s possible that with the longer time to work on firebending, Aang would have felt prepared to take on the Fire Lord before the comet.
Also, Iroh and Zuko would have had knowledge of the underground tunnels to aid with finding Ozai.
Also, Mai and Tai Lee might not have had their redemption points.
Plus, Zuko might not have cemented his new character if he hadn’t given up his place in the Fire Nation while he had everything to lose. He might have had a catastrophic backslide at some point.
I disagree with the second timeline because the whole reason the day of black sun failed was azula knew from when she disguised herself as a kyoshi warrior and the earth king spoke of the plan unless Zuko somehow knows of where Ozai is hiding during the day of black Sun this wouldn’t have happened and the day of black sun would end in the same way
As a kid I wanted her to heal his scar cuz it looked weird but now, I’m happy she didn’t. His scar tells his story

You should do a what if video about what if Ozai never scarred Zuko! I think this timeilne would be really interesting!🙃
Does Ozai still banish Zuko or not?
U will learn reepcts
Nah nah that ruins the show, pleeass
@@TheHappyHummy yes, it makes the show the show it is today.
@@nightingale-d3e Right, but it would still be an interesting video to watch!
They should make more "what if" kind of videos. Maybe like "what if Iroh became Firelord" or something like that.
This is one of my favorite videos y'all have done. Please make some more of these!!!
Looking at him without the scar is like an avatar without bending
its like seeing Aang without his tattoos
I agree, his scar is a mark of a situation that contributed to his growth.

Order of the White Lotus: *Are we a joke to you?*
If katara healed zuko, aang will instantly enter avatar state triggered by jealousy
Why?
@@johnsullivan6196 Aang likes Katara
Why would he be jealous of her healing someone? That's what she does
@@saraht.4927 and? Doesn't mean that he'd get jealous of Katara healing Zuko.
@@heavenlynana04 Because he could get jealous and think that Katara likes Zuko because she used the spirit water on him
Why didn’t Katara go back to the the northern water tribe to the location of the spirit water, get some more & then try to heal Zuko then? 🤷🏻♂️
This
@@anonymousreviewer1923 Always wondered!
@JokesterJonah Gaming Why couldn’t they do it when everything was done?
@@WhatAboutUs Maybe Zuko never asked for again
Or maybe Zuko accepted the scar and tells Katara he's chill with the scar
i absolutely love zuko's scar. its a part of his identity and is symbolic of his growth!!
Without Zuko’s scar, he would look like Jet.
I dont think that in the second scenario zuko could redirect Azula's lightning since she aimed on aang when he was "flying"
Zuko might know it was coming and could have had Katara launch him up right in front of Aang with her waterbending so that he could catch Azula's lightening just in time and redirect it.
I had expected some of these things would happen...but this is really great to get confirmation from creator's team itself...❣ Tbh Zuko's scar doesn't define what inside he is, but yea we wouldn't recognize him without that scar...
love how you cover all the possibilities really, instead of jsut focusing on one timeline like many channels.
Thx u
The original timeline is still the favorite to me. We would never have had iroh and zukos reunion.
Zuko's scar is like Harry Potter's scar. It is a mark of his destiny, a result of Ozai marking him as an equal.
If that ever happened Zuko would be feeling so blessed right now that he'd be happy for the rest of his life 💕
At least until Sozins comet
Bro my names theodoros
He wouldn't be feeling so blessed if the whole of the Earth Kingdom were up in flames, and the war was lost.
@@veve2484Maybe they'll step in since Zuko joined sooner Aang wouldn't be shot and he'd have more time to train
4:28 zuko: *fighting position*
Lol thanks. For da likes xd
I would like to see a video where zuko sides with no one and decides to stay in ba sing se
The thumbnail is both blessed and both cursed
One of the best Videos you guys have ever made 👏👏👏👏
You forgetting something- Zuko led to ozai's plan
I always watch this and think "THAT COULD'VE TOTALLY WORKED AAAH!!" But then at the same time I'm like "No Zuko wouldn't be the same without his scar."
If she did then she couldn’t of healed Anng and he would of died
Yep
Watch The video
"Scarless Zuko doesn't exist, he can't hurt you"
Scarless Zuko:
I kind of liked how the physical scar on Zuko represents the emotional trauma that he went through with his dad so I wouldn’t love that if it actually happened
The "HONORRRRRRR!!!!!!!!" Parts really got me laughing xd
Bottomline: the directors of ATLA carefully crafted the storyline of the series. Kudos to them, we wouldn't love Zuko even more!
Well *Zuko* is *Zuko* with the scar.🔥
The thumbnail 💀
i’m glad he didn’t get his scar healed and join team avatar during the crossroads of destiny. zuko going back home, realising it *wasn’t* what he wanted and confronting his father was such a crucial part of his development, he wouldn’t be zuko without it.
This channel is underrated IMO.
:p
It has nearly a million subscribers, no its not.
@@rollinthunder1000 We are talking about ATLA. Of course 1 million is a lot. But I know that the number of people who watched this show is much bigger. I meant that it's underrated if you consider the people who watched the show/who are subscribed
Thank you Katara...
Directly into my watch later. I’m definitely gonna study this!
the scar is a reminder of his father's cruelty. he would bask in his father's approval and fail to see him for the monster that he is. at the end of the series, the scar is his badge of honor. of the time he stood up against his father
Aang is Zuko’s great grandfather 😱
I would love to see a offical alternative timeline mini series where zuko and iroh fight the fire lord together
Well they could’ve taken aang to the spirit oasis in the North Pole which would probably heal him
Zuko basically gave Ozai the idea so team avatar waiting for after the comet would’ve work
If yall do more WHAT IF stories A lot more people would come back For real
Without the scar nobody would’ve recognised him in LoK
His scar looks unique to me even during the era of lengend of korra❤
1 million subs congrats in advance
Actually when the fire nation went to destroy the land of the eartth nation, it would've never happened if zuko sided with team avatar
Ozais plan came from Zuko talkin about how the earth kingdom citizens are proud. No zuko, probably no plan
Zuko can decide on his own trip and to decide if he wants it to be healed
If Katara had healed Zuko's scar he more than likely would've helped team avatar in ba sing se. But then book 3 wouldn't have had a leg to stand on, in development or in basic story telling. The team wouldn't have taken over a Fire Nation ship, Aang wouldn't have gone to a school, everyone that came to fight during the eclipse would've had to hide/camp together; meaning they'd be much easier to find. And lastly if she had healed Zuko's scar, let's just face it. Aang wouldn't have stood a chance with Katara.
I can't believe everything depends on this water. XD
What if Katara Tried to heal Toph's eyes using the water from the spirit oasis?
I don't think it would work, because she was born blind
@Mohammed Razvi_2240421 Aang wasn’t born dead. Toph was born blind so there’s nothing there to heal
More of these, PLEASE
I read the title as « what if katara *HAD* Zukos scar-
Truly Avatar needs a What if anthology spin off series. Like certain events and choices changes from what’s canon in the OTL and make a few or several episodes of such events.
Zuko’s scar would have changed the whole book 3
Great video! Would love to see more like it!
