I just did the same thing. I had no idea until the end of season 4 then, throughout the entirety of season 5, I was screeching with happiness at the amount of little blushy moments Catra and Adora had.
to the people that think they’re sisters, they had this thing that said they were sisters but a week later it fixed and said best friends. after season 4 you can tell that catra knows what she is doing is bad and she’s ready to fix it. maybe even become friends with adora again and maybe even something more. after rewatching some of the most intense shera episodes i noticed when they’re sitting on the top of the horde catra wants not just to rule the world but for it to be with adora. in season 4 when she was on the cliff she thought ruling etheria would’ve been more fun but she obviously always thought of it while adora was by her side. catradora is so complicated but that’s why people love it. im not saying that they will become canon but they’re are sure to have a close relationship again like they used to in season 5. even if it is the last season. ok that went on for quite awhile i just want you to know that they’re not sisters and they have the friends to enemies to lovers thing going on and they stated that they’re would be a canon lgbt couple at the end of the show. they’re not toxic they’re complicated and definitely not sisters.
