I wouldn't call FFXI a "dead game" unless you added "for me" to the end of it. "Dead and dying games" are just a personal expression. FF11 is still profitable.
You're not alone. XI was a massive part of my life from '05 to '11. I miss those days and I know they can't be re-lived, but I still get that nostalgia itch. XI scratches it perfectly. I just wish Squenix could love it as much as we did..
lol, imagine thinking you know what other players want out of a game. I play private servers because theyre free. Never will i stoop to your level of dealing with playonline and paying a sub for a 30 year old game@@gumdroplollipop
I like how they increased EXP gained from EP and DC mobs. It makes it easier to solo level on them, including with signet and exping outside the your nation's control gives more. Got it setup on the steam deck and just do that occasionally.
As of this morning/last night, the devs have found and fixed the issue with the login server completely and unless there is a huge wave of people trying to login (like after a maintenance) you are basically guaranteed to login om your first try.
I didnt like 11 when it was new cuz it seemed less sandboxy than what i was used to at the time. But now, my god, ff11 is god-tier compared to most of what we have now lol
HorizonXI has been a blast so far. I played retail for 15 years before quitting in 2021 out of boredom. Horizon scratched the itch I've been missing for a decade or more! It's been so much fun struggling at the bottom with the server after being at the top so long with the insane power creep in current retail. This awesome community is what I missed most about old FFXI.
Ffxi horizon just showed square that it could have worked. But 20k players and growing are now on horizon and not giving money to square when I been begging for years for a classic 11
I mean I would sub to these devs to help them out but then SE would come cracking down in the server. I'm loving this game though, wish someone would make a modern mmo like it, my only concern is, how long will the server last cause I'm enjoying every minute of what ffxi has to offer. I'm not gonna play retail because that's a solo experience and that's not why I decided to play this game.
Read through some comments, and WOW. I can't believe how long some people have played and are STILL playing. Mucho props to you all. I LOVED this game when it popped on PS2. The problem I ended up having was once the Chinese gil farmers started inflating the economy it began to feel more like a dam job and diminished the fun factor. I remember trying to save up AND/OR farming Leaping Lizzy for those dam Leaping Boots. It was almost impossible to claim her. When i logged off for the last time if I remember correctly the boots were going north of 4 million. What did they do to combat the gil farmers? Anywho, I recently installed HXI, so cool. Not sure how much time I can put into it but just to run around Windy again was great. The cool thing is I don't have to pay so there is no real pressure to play it. i can do what i want and when i want :) I'll just make sure to login as much as possible so they don't flag me as an inactive account.
I think what frustrates me is SE's stance that a "classical" version of the game doesn't make financial sense and here's a group of fans producing a classical+ server for free. It just boggles my mind. As to HorizonXI, I haven't seen that kind of population since I was in retail back in the day. (I do go to the current retail from time to time, but it's a different game than what it was like in the 75 era.) Blizzard told us that we really didn't want a classic server and yet, now that they have one, it's incredibly popular. SE is giving us the same kind of song and dance. Are companies so removed from their fan's desires that they don't recognize the potential? I'm enjoying HorizonXI, but if SE released a classic server, I would definitely sign up there right away. Missed opportunity SE, missed opportunity,,,
SE is a bunch of old dudes that think release and move on is the best business practice. If they're losing money on something they will cut the dead weight and keep trucking. This has always been their business practice. Thats why they sacked alot of mobile games. Even the kh mobile game was losing them money to keep it going.
The harsh reality is that Square Enix is a company that has to show a return on investment. They're not a cabal of hobbyists who are cobbling together someone else's work.
@@Vapedealerband Let's put it this way, yes, someone is paying for the server, but the devs are volunteers and have outright stated they will not accept donations. But you're right, there are costs being covered by someone; the server is free for players though.
A new graphic system, square giving the players the opportunity of playing both game with one subscription would be great. They could also figure a way of making vanadiel one of the shard on XIV and allows us to move from both game like PSO2NG
yes.. PSO2 and PSO2NGs As one game was a godsend and also a curse at least if they look what sega did, they just make it as an optional downloads for both XIV or XI user to subs and play the other game
I still consider XI one of the most under-studied mmos when people are looking at the broader problem of mmos these days. People forget that those of us who were at the top of that mmo enjoyed years before WoW came along and had the perspective of what other companies did to their games trying to become WoW. If anything, we have a unique perspective that offers a higher vantage point than people who didn't start in this genre until 2004 or later.
I mean, there were other, older MMOs that existed before Final Fantasy XI, and it can be argued that people who were knee deep into Ultima Online, Everquest, Dark Age of Camelot, Anarchy Online, Meridian 59, Asheron's Call, and many other old-school second-generation MMOs could say that they would also have a unique perspective on FFXI.
I agree with you on this. Its wild that Horizon has literally done what a massive company hasn't. I get that there are complications to that. I really do understand, but it feels so backwards. On top of that Nostalrius (if im saying that right) had like 15k players on it during peak hours before Blizzard struck it down and decided to build their own. THAT SAID, Horizon has over 5k players during peak hours with i think over 16k sign ups. (its hard to measure nostalrius based on accounts because im pretty sure each class was an account) I know we are the minority but man I look at how successful classic wow is for all the BS they go through, and I look at how successful OSRS is, and Diablo II remaster is, and old maple story still is, and blah blah blah we get it. I sound like a broken record especially when it comes to my growing frustrations over the years with Yoshi P. But like I know SE has to see that there is some kind of market there for a "Classic" style crowd and they have to understand that combining the sub and charging the same costs has got to be feasible thing especially when it comes to diversifying their income streams. I mean FFS i know people who were paying $45 A MONTH for FFXI and all of their characters but they dropped because Horizon is providing them with the experience they really wanted. Now thats $0. Retail has anywhere from 85k-110k accounts per year at a cost of between $15-$45+ per month. There is a market, and if they teamed up with some of the suedo indie devs like that of Horizon to streamline the process I THINK it would be easier but admittedly that is the one thing im not sure of. That plus if they threw a few VERY TARGETED ad dollars at it (its possible I do it for a living) I think people would be shocked at the news of SE actually manning up and saying "Hey this is a numbered title and our first MMO and you guys have been supporting it in one way or another for over 20 years now" here is an offical server for those who want "that" experience. It's just targeting all parts of the market for what should be almost nothing at this point. Otherwise out of sight out of mind. Marketing is everything. If they cut the crap of "you don't have time" and change it to "an earned experience" then you can totally play the game casually. I'm playing Horizon casually and yeah i'm not world first but you know what its working out just fine and I have already met and become friends with NEW people when in all of my years of playing FFXIV I had like 2 people I really chatted with but after we took a break from FFXIV none of us talked even though we are on the same discords and are added as friends. Playing Horizon and having a much closer 1 to 1 experience of how it used to be has reminded me that this isn't a fake thing. FFXI WAS and IS different. I'd be lying if I said I had 100% pinpointed the exact thing, but if you know you know, and SE, well they should know.
I just started the other day, people are helpful but man I wish I'd get invited to a linkshell or something, but haven't made it to the dunes yet, I'm still getting ready for it, but I'm loving the adventure of learning this game, I'm new, and I think I prefer sandbox to theme park, I'm an ffxiv player but I think I honestly find it more fun running out in the world and fighting monsters then repeating the same fights over and over again, also now that gil isn't just given to me by doing msq, I have to actually go out and farm materials amd every time I sell something on the AH I get a dopamine hit, I'm now sinking more time in to this game than my main game haha xD, I'm also excited for Throne and Liberty cause I'm pretty sure that's gonna be a sandbox mmo too, but I hope it's like ffxi, I kinda love that I didn't have a clue of what to do when I started and now that although I'm only level 10, the little bit that I've learned, feels good and reminds me why I love gaming, I'm actually sick of games telling me what to do. My only concern is, horizonxi is a private server that could shut down at any moment, but who knows, maybe it won't, suppose I should just enjoy it while it lasts :)
@@FUall19956 So I could go on a long shpeal as to why it most likely won't shut down but you'll just have to take my word on it lol. But one thing you'll notice in about 6 months from now its that you'll realize you have very clear memories of subtle little things that felt like big wins in FFXI. Its what makes the gear progression in FFXI waaaaay better. I will say that if you want to join a linkshell, shot for one in cities and people will most likely be willing to help. ALSO the discord has like bulletin boards where people advertise their linkshells, crafting, player questions, a ton of stuff really. You should definitely check it out more if you haven't, its a great resource. There are even other discord servers of people playing on horizon where people are allowed to join. If you have any more questions let me know but I hope this helps! I also played a ton of 14 but found that the rinse and repeat off it all outside the story just wasn't my favorite, so Horizon came out just in time for me.
@@Ephremjlm1 yeah I'll get my discord set up and join it, I've made it to the dunes so I'm camping there for the time being, so will be while before run back to bastok, some guy told me I need like 3 different items for a subjob so I need to look more in to that cause once I hit 18 I know its gonna be expected of me to have a sub job, I have my thief at level 8 at the moment just to get a start on it. Also got my first party today and that was way more exciting than running a dungeon in ffxiv, and the scale mail that I spent like 3 days working towards in preparation for the dunes feels like a good accomplishment, and also I'm gonna take your word on the server not shutting down and even if it does, it will be a good experience none the less.
@@FUall19956 quick tip two of those items come from dunes. The crab apron from the crabs and the damselfly work from the dragonfly looking things. If you are partying those items will drop. Ask your party if you can "lot" on them and that's the best way to do it. The third you will likely have to go to a new location.
I'm hyper addicted to HorizonXI. This is the game I Iove and just want to keep playing. It had some nice QoL. Of course it's not perfect, but the devs are trying their best.
Horizon is dope, but they shouldn’t be nerfing classes. Asura is the butthole of all FFxi servers. Nothing but bots, hackers, and people running around with 5-6 accounts. A massive portion of the shouts were all merc shouts. Major L
@6:40 in your video, what you said, was basically FFXIV 1.0 which failed horribly. absolutely horridly. theyd need to keep EVERYTHING as it is, in order for it to be really charming, the game has a charm as it is now TBH, probably just some like HD textures that are optimized & some lighting / shadow upgrades, maybe render distance for mobs and players.
@@GingerPrimeGaming honestly, THAT IS the best route, ps2 - ps5 since theyre not updating the engine or anything without having to completely redo it, i mean they COULD do the FFXIV 1.0 engine, but make everything FFXI style, with SOMMEEE XIV 1.23b stuff to "modernize" a tiny bit and to fix horrid annoying things from XI that cant be fixed because of the crazy hard limitations the engine has for that. but yeah it would be insanely good!! a 75 era one at that too xD. if they do the heavily modified XIV 1.23b route, they can open it to PS4 and PS5 since back then, PS3 ran like CRAP lol barely could run 2.0. like right now, retail has what? like 90k players?! and Horizon XI has like 4 - 6k players its crazy.
Why SE cannot do what Horizonxi just did? Square Enix simply will not redo the same thing over again, If they ever do something with FFXI again, it will be a "Remake project" like ff7r or the mobile version that was cancelled. To me, the Horizon team has the best approach. Dual boxing kills the game, 2004 Era is the best to start at, let's just hope it continues to be good.
@@GingerPrimeGaming It really doesn't matter if SE can do it, let's imagine that they do release a classic FFXI, just like Horizonxi, Would they be able to restrict players from buying multiple acocunts and playing them all at once? is this how the game was developed back in the days, to play 3-4+ accounts at once. This is what killed the game for me
What really irks me is when people (younger players, mostly) talk about their favorite mainline Final Fantasy games, and completely skip over XI like it never existed. They will go "FFX, FFX-2, FFXII" like FFXI never was created, never existed, and nobody ever played it.
To be fair most people who play final fantasy games and other JRPGs don't really care about MMOs. As much as I am loving FF11 so far it's not like other Final Fantasy games.
I would like to play and give ffxi a try again to play my summoner, because when I played it after just unlocking the summoner. It felt the best damn summoner class I played. I really want a hotbar or something, because to me I feel like getting to the actual skills, telling your party members or summons to attack, before you have to attack is needed. Its just to many menu presses and buttons I have to do before I do anything, meanwhile AI party members like a tank wont attack until you attack forgot with the AI leaders that can join with you, is so stupid to me. Why do I have to engage for them to start attacking....
Square has been sacking a lot of there other mobile games and other online services, I wonder what they want those teams to work on….. my theory is they were probably working with tencent on the remake, and they didn’t like what tencent wanted, and now want to take it in house. That is my hope… but I’d rather a PC version over a mobile one, but you never know.
Miss this game so much I install it on every system I purchase and log in to sort my inventory out and Gearswaps ... started playing in 2003 ... religiously.. Most underrated MMORPG thier ever has been happy memories.. Sky, Kirin, Sea, AV, Pandemonium Warden.. all the way into Abysea and Adoulin , content was immense and Team Work and Guilds was the only way to achieve greatness...
Horizon is great, but I just don't agree with some of the job changes they have done. Particularly with Ninja and Red Mage. However, that being said, some of the job changes were fantastic. So if you don't really care about the jobs they ruined, it's a great option for you.
@@GingerPrimeGaming That's the biggest problem with classic. It didn't respect your time. You can tell when most of the classic twitch streams, people are just standing around waiting for something to happen. Classic was 90% preparing for the 10% that you did something. That's why current retail is how it is. It's the opposite. 90% doing stuff and 10% standing around waiting. You can accomplish a lot in a short period. Thus, you can play it with a small schedule and still feel like you're making progress.
The problem with private servers is that after 2-3 years usually they start to lose the majority of their player base to the next big server. We saw that happening to Nasomi when Eden launched. We saw it again on Eden when Wings launched. And now with Horizon, Eden is down to like 400 players online. No idea about Wings, i never joined the server because of the team and drama behind them. But i guess they dont have way more active players then Eden does at the moment. I build a Relic weapon and allmost maxed out my main Job's gear on Eden and now the server is dying. Horizon doesnt allow server transfers, and i dont have the time anymore needed to invest into a game like this. Im giving up on this game for good this time.
Banned for being AFK? I doubt it...there are clearly several lizzy bots on horizon XI. These people have been camping her as "new adventurer" for as long as ive been on it. I started 5 days after launch.
@@GingerPrimeGaming yeah, but botting isn't that uncommon on any server, and I've heard of people doing it and denying it initially, then admitting to it years later. It's highly improbable your friend got banned while afk. He had to have been reported, bare minimum, and for that to occur there had to be plausible abuse observed over a period of time. Like, I'm not gonna accuse someone of botting for winning a claim a few times, but if the behavior becomes questionable over a long period of time, then there might be grounds for concern. I'm sure these alt claim bots on horizon xi are not an isolated incident. I mean the leapin lizzy camp has clearly been altered by devs, as the behavior of the placeholder and the spawn behavior of the nm herself are highly suspect. Tye nm pops in 2 main places with an occassional wild pop. I camped her and claimed her 100s of times on retail and her pop would often occur way to the west on the path near the crab pond and way to the east up the hill towards guataberg. On horizon i have yet to see her pop anywhere near either of these places and I've heard similar stories on other servers. If not for these conditions, botting would be fruitless as you'd never get her...not to mention the stories ive heard of devs abuse/cheating on multiple private servers. It all seems sketchy. I love this game and played it for a very long time and was very successful at it, but it is what it is... all I'm gonna say is if SE ever came out with classic server, I'd bail on these private servers, there's little or no oversight...
Horizon may have the prettiest launcher, but they by no means started from scratch. Something that you're effectively asking SE to do and more when desiring a 2.0 version of FFXI. Horizon players are either ignorant or willfully ignore that the FFXI private server community got its start nearly a decade ago, with a major amount of work being done within the last half decade. Tens of 1000s of hours of reverse engineering, coding, testing, and debugging that came well before Horizon was ever conceived. Not to mention the millions of hours played effectively beta testing across various servers. Lessons learned, mistakes that were made, best practices, and more all done by numerous volunteers past and present. Horizon stands upon the shoulders of everything that came before. And when you include the 1000s of hours people have already contributed to develop Horizon's various nuanced changes, well you're talking about a lot of labor. Labor that would easily cost Square Enix millions if not tens of millions to redevelop the game in a new engine. WoW Classic was only truly possible because Blizzard managed to find an older version of their server software and they didn't even redevelop their game in an entirely new engine. Unfortunately, Square Enix won't be any better off when it comes to versioning from a game developed around the turn of the century. So, when it comes to a team with a smaller budget what you're expecting is quite unrealistic. As a FFXI fan myself, I have to acknowledge that a FFXI-2 is just unlikely to ever happen. It would be awesome if SE committed to such a project; however, a corporation like SE is going to really care about the numbers and whether or not they make sense. They'd be exceedingly generous even if their expectation was to breakeven after several years of subscriptions.
You seem to be confusing a few things, so let me correct one... I'm not expecting anything, in fact SE would have to take great care to do the things that the private community has done but at a higher level because of how laws and business practices are all tied together. But the heart wants what it wants, and no matter how much financial sense it doesn't make, it would still be a wonderful thing to do.
I have no interest in this, but I wish it all the best. If the retail version gets the graphical update akin to HorizonsXI, then there won’t be a need for it. That said, I hope all who play it get the fullest experience they can.
3:23. Yoshi-P doesn’t talk about FFXI because EVEN HE knows perfection when he sees it, so he at least had the decency to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT AND NOT SCREW THE GAME UP.
Hmmm.. as much as I loved 11 playing it as a kid I don't think improving on the game's core like graphics, UI, netcode ect.. is financially beneficial to SE. When you look at passion projects like Horizon and how they are doing better job than SE when it comes to quality of life changes you gotta remember that SE can do those things and more but in order for them to do that they need to allocate resources to do these type of things when they can use these resources else where for something new that actually can bring money to them. The matter fact that 11 is still somewhat popular and still till this day running with a community that loves this game is impressive but I think 11 is a relic of the past and that is that.
Square Enix has an insane amount of money and even if they put 1% of their yearly profits into FFXI it would thrive like never before. There are plenty of older MMOs that are being kept alive out of love and respect for the playerbase, and XI should be one of them.
The only way to play this game is in a private server and the only people still playing on retail jumped in after the Abyssea fiasco or as we used to call them Abyssea babies who would have never played the game pre-Abyssea.
I'm curious about Horizon, but the '75 level cap and everything balanced for level 75' part makes me hesitant. So... what, we get to level 75, and... no more new abilities or upgrades to our spells? The only progression is, I assume, just gear-based ? So level 75, and that's it, nothing new? I'll admit, I'm confused. It sounds like a mixture of 'gear-based' mixed with "stand there and grind the same mobs for arbitrary currency/materials for tiny stat boost." And, well, the scholar job isn't in, if it's starting based in CoP. And knowing most private servers for XI, it's either never going to get to WoTG, going to take an obscenely long time, or, every so conveniently skipped. :C This makes me a sad mithra. :C
@@lee1130fromtwitter So to translate, it's.. exactly as I suspected it'd be? Locked at 75 with nothing actually new, and the "end game" consists of arbitrary grind for currencies and sub-currencies for... a robe that amounts to Fire IV doing an additional whopping +2 damage?
@@coreywarrington7035 It is supposed to play just like 75-era FFXI did. I'm not sure what your criticism is? The real novelty is that the developers are going to implement future content and keep the 75 cap. Although it will probably be years before that considering they just launched and started wit CoP. The point is, as an 75-era server, not reaching the endgame as soon as possible but actually spending the majority of time getting there.
these players on horizon or private servers want to start over again, relive 75 era. when they get 75 and be bored with end-game stuff and quit. endgame 75 era was very limited. horizon will probably scale-down ilv119 content to make players stay. lots of bugs to overcome and get easily banned. they will probably charge money at some point in the future if retail xi dies.
Set up macros properly. You shouldn't need to use 16 skills/different magic spells in less than it takes to move a curser 5 to the left or right at a time
SE wants to be done with XI. However, Japanese culture holds them back from shutting servers down. They don't want to see anything shut down as it would be seen as a failure. They also just don't care about western input. Ninja offered 1 million dollars to make a classic game and they just didn't respond. So Ninja decided to fund Horizon instead. This was confirmed on his twitch stream btw.
I play both at the same time. One on Asura and Horizon. Horizon sucks so far but its expected. The graphics update I have on release are better mods than horizon so far. The game us clunky. Claim system for HNM on horizon is stupid. Kills competition unlike the old. The idea of 75 in abyssea is cool though. Made my cala waaay back when and making it again.... idk. That took help and a lot of time. Not ready to reinvest quite yet. Ill check back in a few months after the game is playable for more than a few hours.
Yoshida is jealous of ffxi. His ffxiv version is played by mmo locusts that will forget about the game once the new shiny clone is out. I dont see anyone playing 14 10 years from now, or reaching a 20 year aniversary
Game is completely dead. HorizonXI has impressive numbers but for an online game like Final Fantasy it can be considered dead. A game world like Final Fantasy is not like Everquest where 1k+ people already make the server feel too crowded. FFXI feels absolutely empty. Playing HorizonXI with like 2k people is the same as playing a single player game. Waste of anyone time to try and take this serious and grind anything on a dead game, unless you enjoy single player games in an online setting then that's fine as long as they dont shut down the server.
sadly HorizonXI have nothing to do with a real classic server . is a easy mode server . you pick up beast master and you are on gm mode , player just party stack beast master in party without main healer same with bcnm , making this server having 0 legitimacy for they gear and achievement
Seems that this video was like 70% more about what you eant retail to be or wish retail did and 30% about horizon. If that, lol. Regardless FFXI will probably never get anything above menial updates or very small very inconsistent "new" content. Anything more is a pipedream.
Why would SE spend money on a dead game?
I wouldn't call FFXI a "dead game" unless you added "for me" to the end of it. "Dead and dying games" are just a personal expression. FF11 is still profitable.
There's over 100k active players, according to ffxiah database. That's not dead.
That explains Babylon’s Fall, not Final Fantasy XI.
Seeing as the game is still profitable according to one of the last interviews they had that doesn’t really sound dead.
The game was never dead, you just don't hear about it because it's not what you like or goes after in your own algorythim.

They could also figure a way of making vanadiel one of the shard on XIV and allows us to move from both game like PSO2NG
yes.. PSO2 and PSO2NGs As one game was a godsend and also a curse
at least if they look what sega did, they just make it as an optional downloads for both XIV or XI user to subs and play the other game

@@SubduedRadical Yeah. My favorite were the DikuMUDs.
My private frustration? The Play Online launcher. The multiple passwords.
(its hard to measure nostalrius based on accounts because im pretty sure each class was an account)
I know we are the minority but man I look at how successful classic wow is for all the BS they go through, and I look at how successful OSRS is, and Diablo II remaster is, and old maple story still is, and blah blah blah we get it.
Of course it's not perfect, but the devs are trying their best.
but they didn't make the game Square did you fool >.>

@6:40 in your video, what you said, was basically FFXIV 1.0 which failed horribly. absolutely horridly.
theyd need to keep EVERYTHING as it is, in order for it to be really charming, the game has a charm as it is now TBH, probably just some like HD textures that are optimized & some lighting / shadow upgrades, maybe render distance for mobs and players.
Bring it back to consoles would be a great start as well.
Like I said, SE can do it, but it's not as easy because they have many other things to consider that a private server group doesn't need to factor in.
This is what killed the game for me
Horizon: Rips off a game from SE
You: Why can't SE do that?
lolwut?
What really irks me is when people (younger players, mostly) talk about their favorite mainline Final Fantasy games, and completely skip over XI like it never existed. They will go "FFX, FFX-2, FFXII" like FFXI never was created, never existed, and nobody ever played it.
To be fair most people who play final fantasy games and other JRPGs don't really care about MMOs. As much as I am loving FF11 so far it's not like other Final Fantasy games.
This server is great I hope they emulate the social features of playonline or replace them so community can grow
shit love the game now lot more fun if you like soloing then in the past SE has done great! I don"t need a private sever
Or even more tin foil hat ideas, what if the next 14 expansion takes place in… Vana’deil?
Horizon's launcher doesnt even work. How is this a good thing
Square has been sacking a lot of there other mobile games and other online services, I wonder what they want those teams to work on….. my theory is they were probably working with tencent on the remake, and they didn’t like what tencent wanted, and now want to take it in house. That is my hope… but I’d rather a PC version over a mobile one, but you never know.
maybe Cross Platform? but still No Auto Gameplay unless SE wants to go down
Miss this game so much I install it on every system I purchase and log in to sort my inventory out and Gearswaps ... started playing in 2003 ... religiously..

Horizon is great, but I just don't agree with some of the job changes they have done. Particularly with Ninja and Red Mage. However, that being said, some of the job changes were fantastic. So if you don't really care about the jobs they ruined, it's a great option for you.
I want to find more time to play it
@@GingerPrimeGaming That's the biggest problem with classic. Thus, you can play it with a small schedule and still feel like you're making progress.
how funny, just did Af quest in davoi with that dude quares at 9:38 like 2 hours before watching this video XD

I know it's not console...but you can play it on the Steamdeck
theres a hope though, i mean theres a project that Necromance PSO1 Dreamcast, PSO1 Gamecube and PSO:Blue Burst For PC as a cross platform game
Im giving up on this game for good this time.
watching people play the ps on twitch made me resub to retail. Retail is soo deep and amazing.
I have characters on Nasomi , Eden , Horizon and CatsEye
Banned for being AFK? I doubt it...there are clearly several lizzy bots on horizon XI. These people have been camping her as "new adventurer" for as long as ive been on it. I started 5 days after launch.
Was talking about wings that’s where my friend got banned
3:54. No, Brian. That was no misspeak at all. Don’t second guess yourself when you speak the truth.
5:30 There is nothing wrong with PlayOnline.
I’m on Valefor. Not heading to Asura as where I am is fine.
7:04 YOU DO NOT NEED A CROSS HOT BAR FOR EVERYTHING!!! THINK BEYOND THE LIMITATIONS OF WORLD OF WARCRAFT!!!
Faster combat, better UI, visual update. No American enjoyed that very sluggish grind.
Horizon XI has been pretty fun minus some of the backend issues
Hmmm.. as much as I loved 11 playing it as a kid I don't think improving on the game's core like graphics, UI, netcode ect.. is financially beneficial to SE.
I wonder with the CEO being fired If we will see more resources put into the FF11 bucket or if it will be more of the same
Square Enix has an insane amount of money and even if they put 1% of their yearly profits into FFXI it would thrive like never before. There are plenty of older MMOs that are being kept alive out of love and respect for the playerbase, and XI should be one of them.
Nexon was making that shitty phone port not Square.
I don't support pirate/private servers unless a game has been officially shut down
Only private servers I play on are the Homecoming servers for City of Heroes, which received NCSoft's blessings.
I never got to play 11, when it was out on PS2.
I might try the PS.
It's honestly the best way to play the game right now.
Try it out man, it starts off very daunting, but I guarantee by level 10, you'll have some small goals to keep you going, that's my experience so far.
HorizonXI like all private servers turned corrupt and just a playground for the server owners. Eden was the worst as far as the people who ran it.
That's why I really wish we'd see SE support this style of server
Wait, what do you mean :0 I just started playing there so I have no idea about history of private servers and stuff. What happened?
The only way to play this game is in a private server and the only people still playing on retail jumped in after the Abyssea fiasco or as we used to call them Abyssea babies who would have never played the game pre-Abyssea.
Literally unplayable. I've been trying the launcher for 2 days (probably 6 hours total)
Yes console will bring it alive but just dreams
I'm curious about Horizon, but the '75 level cap and everything balanced for level 75' part makes me hesitant.
So... what, we get to level 75, and... no more new abilities or upgrades to our spells? The only progression is, I assume, just gear-based ?
So level 75, and that's it, nothing new? I'll admit, I'm confused. It sounds like a mixture of 'gear-based' mixed with "stand there and grind the same mobs for arbitrary currency/materials for tiny stat boost."
And, well, the scholar job isn't in, if it's starting based in CoP. And knowing most private servers for XI, it's either never going to get to WoTG, going to take an obscenely long time, or, every so conveniently skipped. :C
This makes me a sad mithra. :C
You get to 75. You merit. You do endgame. You grind for God teir equipment that doesn't go away one day because level cap changes...
@@lee1130fromtwitter that's how all mmos work. Ffxi is one of the few horizontal mmos.
@@coreywarrington7035 It is supposed to play just like 75-era FFXI did. I'm not sure what your criticism is? The real novelty is that the developers are going to implement future content and keep the 75 cap. Although it will probably be years before that considering they just launched and started wit CoP.
The point is, as an 75-era server, not reaching the endgame as soon as possible but actually spending the majority of time getting there.
these players on horizon or private servers want to start over again, relive 75 era. when they get 75 and be bored with end-game stuff and quit. endgame 75 era was very limited.
horizon will probably scale-down ilv119 content to make players stay. lots of bugs to overcome and get easily banned. they will probably charge money at some point in the future if retail xi dies.
i hope the horizon devs can put xiv crossbar in as an add on
Set up macros properly.
First! :)
sadly HorizonXI have nothing to do with a real classic server . is a easy mode server . you pick up beast master and you are on gm mode , player just party stack beast master in party without main healer same with bcnm , making this server having 0 legitimacy for they gear and achievement
Old game people should just let it die and go play ffxiv
FFXIV is just so boring, and really should just be a single player story driven experience, or at least it feels like that's what they want it to be.
FF14 is so boring, the only actual fun in it is decorating your home. lol even that is more meaningful than anything else in that game.
Seems that this video was like 70% more about what you eant retail to be or wish retail did and 30% about horizon. If that, lol. Regardless FFXI will probably never get anything above menial updates or very small very inconsistent "new" content. Anything more is a pipedream.
I feel your %breakdown matches the title perfectly
